Rustic Industrial Seventh Place Wedding in Los Angeles

August 31, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

With handmade lace decor, wood accents, and exposed red brick throughout, Haley and Jeremy’s downtown LA wedding at Seventh Place was everything we love about rustic industrial weddings and so much more! The couple’s indoor ceremony and reception were filled to the brim with natural greenery and free-form florals created by White Fig Designs, which added so much dimension to the overall vibe. The couple’s vision came to life with chic details, mismatched and minimal table decor, and natural elements that complemented but didn’t distract from the chic architecture of the venue. All in all, this LA wedding had modern elegance and rustic charm in spades, and Katie Ruther Photography captured every moment brilliantly!

The Couple:

Haley and Jeremy

The Wedding:

Seventh Place, Los Angeles, California

The most important part of planning our wedding was to not let myself get too caught up in the planning. I wanted to enjoy being engaged to Jeremy and not let the wedding stress take over! Of course it got the best of me here and there, but in the end I am so thankful for all of the help we received in order to be able to step away at times!

The most memorable part of the entire day was walking into our ceremony and reception space and just being in awe of how everything came together. I could not believe how amazing my team of wedding vendors made the venue look! Everything was absolutely perfect. (And, of course, the “I dos” were memorable, too!)

For our ceremony, we had a large scroll looking piece with our vows printed on them. Before exchanging our rings Jeremy and I both signed underneath our individual vows with fun feather pens. It was a fun way to break up the ceremony and have some interaction!

Working with our photographer, Katie, was a dream. Literally. We connected with Katie at our engagement shoot earlier in the year and I knew she was the right choice. Her spunky yet calming personality put both my husband and me at ease throughout our entire day. We would both say that our time with Katie for our post-ceremony portraits was one of the highlights of our day. We had so much fun walking the streets of LA and letting Katie’s imagination create the most beautiful pictures. She has a way with people, and she has a way with her camera that work magically together.

We had a couple of DIY wedding pieces! Our hanging lace hoops were one of my favorite decor pieces. We spray painted wooden embroidery hoops with gold paint and attached different patterns of lace inside them. They were hung by the ceiling using fishing line covered with garlands of greenery! The other DIY piece was a large aspen tree branch which we tied tons of ribbon and fabric pieces from to hang on one of the walls. Such a simple project but one of my favorites because it was made my bridesmaids, my mother in law, my step mom, and my mom. All are such huge parts of my life and it was so fun to create with all of them!

This Couple Treated Their Out-of-Town Guests to a Quintessentially Texas Wedding at Jacoby’s Restaurant and Mercantile

August 30, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

If down-home country vibes and relaxed elegance are your jam, you’re going to love Emma and Luke’s wedding at Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile. Because so many of their guests were flying over from London, the couple planned an entire week of activities to celebrate their beloved Texas home, which culminated in their wedding at a ranch-to-table restaurant that accommodated their ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Although most of the decor belonged to the restaurant itself, Pollen Floral Art added vibrant blooms of bouquets, centerpieces, and sign adornments that added the perfect pop of color to the outdoor rustic venue. Nikk Nguyen Photo nailed it in capturing the unique vibe and unbelievably beautiful moments of this quintessentially Texas wedding day!

The Couple:

Emma and Luke

The Wedding:

Jacoby’s Restaurant & Mercantile, Austin, Texas

We had a lot of people flying in from London and abroad, so we really wanted the vibe of the wedding to be relaxed and focused on people having fun. We had a whole week of activities planned and we didn’t adhere to strict traditions. We danced and laughed more than cried, but that’s our vibe!

My uncle was our officiant, and he was quirky and perfect. The ceremony was super short — about 8 mins — and everyone just stood around us (no chairs). We also came out to fun songs and we had beers and a signature cocktail ready for people as they arrived.

Jacoby’s was perfect for us because we could have the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and party all in one small space (but still have different areas for each part of the day). It was also ideal because the restaurant is designed and styled well by their owners, so I could use their decorations as my own.

It was unseasonably warm in Austin (about 90 in May) and so by the end of the DJ sets it was pretty hot and sweaty, half the men ended up taking their shirts off and dancing around to “Shout” when Luke and I were on stage with the band. We could see everyone smiling and laughing their heads off.
