Old Hollywood Meets Tropical Effortlessness in This Palm Springs Ace Hotel & Swim Club Wedding

July 26, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

When it comes to tropical sophistication, nothing compares to this Ace Hotel & Swim Club wedding in Palm Springs! Margaret and Stefan added classic vibes to the retro venue, and the result was pure magic. The tropical touches added just the right amount of color to their black and white palette, and the personalized details for their guests made the entire event feel warm, inviting, and elegantly sentimental. From the moment we laid eyes on these images captured by The Times We Have, we were in love with this sweet couple, their beautiful love story, and this incredible California summer wedding!

The Couple:

Margaret and Stefan

The Wedding:

Ace Hotel & Swim Club, Palm Springs, California

The most important thing to us when planning our wedding was not making it hard on ourselves. We’re big believers of less is more, and we tried to simplify when possible so we could fully enjoy every element of our wedding without stress given it was a destination. We also had so much fun curating our music! On a road trip through California months before our wedding, we began putting together playlists for the ceremony, cocktail, dinner, and dancing portions of the wedding. This process was so much fun, and the music ended up being a highlight of the day.

Our ceremony was the most memorable part of our wedding. We were lucky to have a close family friend who we respect and look up to officiate us, which made it very intimate and personal. We cared a lot about the messages and themes in our ceremony and wanted everyone to feel connected. We also wrote and read individual vows to each other, which was so powerful. We’re really happy we did that!

Our best advice? Don’t sweat the small stuff! The little things don’t matter and often soak up too much time, energy, and money. Focus on what’s most important and use your energy wisely.

We decided to give hand-written cards to each guest. This was probably the most unique touch that we were really committed to doing, even though it did take a lot of time to write notes to everyone! We loved the idea of making a personalized connection to each guest given everyone traveled to be there for us that day and allowed us to express our gratitude individually.

This Boho Backyard Wedding is Full of Details for Your Pinterest Board

July 25, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

At this time of year, we literally cannot get enough cozy backyard weddings. So when we saw all the sentimental details, the laid-back vibes, and the impeccable style in Cassidy and Zachary’s boho backyard wedding, our hearts did a happy dance! The couple tied the knot on the porch and danced the night away in the backyard, which was transformed with farm tables, twinkle lights, and (most importantly) a large dance floor. The details were simple but perfectly bohemian, which is all they really needed to set the stage for a beautiful celebration. Luckily for us, Brooke Shannon Photography was there to capture all the magic of this special day and a post-wedding shoot where the couple got to let down their hair and just be crazy in love!

Our best advice to couples is to make photo and video your priority first and foremost because they are what you have to hold onto once the day is gone. Make hearing and seeing your grandparents on film a priority. Make seeing your groom’s face as you walk towards him a priority. Hire the photo and video team of your dreams because saying yes to fewer flowers and putting more investment into your memories captured is not something you’ll regret, I promise!

We created the most perfect kind of ceremony for ourselves where we remembered lost loved ones, talked about our journey and our combined family of four parents and fifteen siblings, and my niece Raegyn read the poem, “I Carry Your Heart With Me,” by E.E. Cummings. Lastly, we wrote our own vows that allowed us to speak right from our souls. I was so giddy through it all that I just kept looking out over the crowd to see everyone’s faces.

This Chic Unconventional Spanish Library Wedding at El Siglo is Like Nothing You’ve Seen Before

July 24, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Calling all bibliophiles: this library wedding in Barcelona is guaranteed to make your heart melt! Happy Endings Barcelona helped Cynthia and Manuel transform El Siglo into a book lover’s wedding paradise, where unconventional was the name of the game. The couple and their guests crowded into the stacks for a ceremony that was punctuated with confetti and a reception that featured a real tattoo station for the guests in place of traditional favors. The whole design felt old-world and chic yet wildly edgy. We can hardly get over the intimate moments The Northern Girl was able to capture from beginning to end — and are low-key obsessed with this couple’s cool, eclectic style!
