Elegant Tuscan Wedding at the Beach

Antonella and David threw the kind of wedding you don’t want to leave, and according to them, the party went on through the next morning! (If that isn’t a successful celebration, we don’t know what is!) The Tuscan wedding began with an elegant and traditional church ceremony at Basilica di San Frediano before guests headed to the beach for dinner in the sand and sunset. Nordica Photography flawlessly documented the couple’s big day, from first look in the church to barefoot walk on the beach as newlyweds.

The Couple:

Antonella and David

The Wedding:

Bagno Arsella, Tuscany, Italy

The Inspiration:

David and I love to have friends around. We love those impromptu dinner parties where you end up looking for extra bottles of wine everywhere in the house and stay up until the early hours putting the world to rights. We really wanted to create that feeling – we wanted all our loved ones to feel “at home”, comfortable, happy. My father is Italian so we did the wedding in Tuscany. The celebration was in Basilica di San Frediano in the old city of Lucca and the dinner party was on the beach, near Forte dei Marmi. The owner of the beach is an old family friend and a chef. We trusted him 100% and it was absolutely extraordinary. I think we left the party at 7am and we were not the last to leave!

Regarding the fashion, I wanted everything to be white, very simple, fresh and romantic. The flower girls were our friends’ daughters and were wearing flower crowns, adorable Bonpoint dresses and little Bensimon shoes. My best friend is a very talented designer and created the most amazing dress a girl could dream of! We were extremely spoiled.

The Moments:

Antonella: David and I spend the night before the wedding together. We had been through quite a lot together and I knew I would panic if I didn’t have him around me the night before my Big Day. We woke up around 8am, the weather was gorgeous and we talked about how excited we were. We just had a very beautiful moment. However, the whole day was very magical… I couldn’t single out one moment but I have to say that the church service was gorgeous.

David: The day was full of amazing moments — the anticipation of the morning on the day, the photo shoot at a beautiful old ruin in the Tuscan hills, the champagne reception, sunset on the beach, the light fading and candles being lit as we started dinner, Antonella‘s father’s speech… But the church ceremony really sticks in my mind. We’re not regular church-goers, so perhaps I hadn’t expected to find it quite so moving. It was really beautiful.

The Couple Recommends:

I would recommend them all! We are based in London and had to fly a lot of people to Italy. We had had to trust them in order not to go crazy and they all went above and beyond. We had a small team around us but didn’t had to question anything twice. Everything was easy and fun to organise (dealing with the Italian administration was the only tricky part). They totally understood us and made this day truly magical.

Rustic Retro Wedding at Fforest

August 31, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Retro-Glam-Wedding-Tim-Bishop-Photography (17 of 26)

Inspired by the 1950s and Grace Kelly, Kate and Jack’s Fforest wedding was full of retro spirit. The rustic venue provided a lovely contrast, making for the vintage countryside wedding of their dreams. Tim Bishop Photography captured the sweetest portraits of the newlyweds sitting together on a dock and basking in the golden hour light.

The Couple:

Kate and Jack

The Wedding:

Fforest, Cardigan, Wales

The Inspiration:

The inspiration for the wedding day theme was whimsical and natural and the for the fashion, it was 1950’s vintage. The inspiration for my dress was taken from Grace Kelly’s dress.

The Moments:

I think I speak for both of us when I say it was the ceremony. It was the result of two years of planning! It was everything we dreamt it would be!

The Couple Recommends:

Tim Bishop, our photographer, was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was so professional and is now a good friend! The Fforest team – nothing was too much and they made our day run so smoothly and without fault. They were busy in the background, and you didn’t even know they were there.

The Wedding Team:

Photography – Tim Bishop Photography
Venue – Fforest
Hair Styling – Andrew Price
Wedding Dress – Ronald Joyce
Bridesmaids’ Apparel – Top Weddings
Groom’s Apparel – Slaters
