Opting for sea and sky instead of decorations and an intimate elopement instead of a traditional ceremony, every minute of Alessandra and Andrew’s Newfoundland wedding was exactly as they dreamed. The couple tied the knot near Cape Spear Lighthouse with just their officiant and photographers Jennifer Moher and Hugh Whitaker as witness. The romantic day included a cliff-side picnic, rock climbing, and a few pints as they danced the night away with a lively band at Quidi Vidi Brewery.
The Couple:
Alessandra and Andrew
The Wedding:
Cape Spear Lighthouse, Blackhead, Newfoundland
The Inspiration:
We knew the scenery would be spectacular, so we skipped any real decor and just let the atmosphere do all of it for us. We focused our fashion choices on what was comfortable and classic. We went for simple styles and matte colours that would accommodate our impromptu exploring around the rock.
The Moments:
Our picnic at the top of Cape Spear. We all sat on the edge of the cliff for sandwiches and a toast after the ceremony. The ocean and sky just blended together and seemed to go on forever. It was such a calm, beautiful way to let it all sink in.
The Couple Recommends:
Our photographers, Jennifer Moher and Hugh Whitaker, were incredible. It was like hanging out with two old friends all day who just happened to also be ridiculously talented. Jen and Hugh really captured the whole feeling of the day for us, and our families were so thrilled to see all the photos when we got home. They all said they felt like they were right there with us.
