Truly Epic Tropical Bohemian Vietnam Elopement at Bai Tho Mountain

August 7, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Between the epic mountaintop ceremony looking over the sea and the intimate sweetheart dinner on a boat, this Vietnam elopement was truly breathtaking. Phong, Hoang, and their photographer, Phan Tien Photography, climbed the Bai Tho Mountain for over an hour to get to the summit, where a boho-inspired ceremony arch and vintage rug were waiting. With nothing but the sea behind them, the couple exchanged emotional vows just as the sun was rising, and it could not have been a more romantic moment. After an epic photo session on the mountain, Phong and Hoang then made their way to their sweetheart table on a boat, which Meraki Wedding Planner designed to be a bohemian dream with cafe lights, dreamcatchers, black and gold place settings, and organic florals, grasses, and greenery arranged by Hands & Heart.

The Couple:

Phong and Hoang

The Wedding:

Bai Tho Mountain, Vietnam

We had to climb up Bai Tho mountain at 3 AM. The group was exhausted when we reached the top, after enduring the steep rocky track for one and a half hours. Our effort paid off when we saw the sun rising from the horizon and gradually lifting Ha Long bay away from darkness. Engulfed in the beautiful sunrise, we danced to the songs on our playlist and felt a lightness in our hearts that we rarely experience in our daily life.

We decided to follow the wedding planner’s advice from start to finish. Our wedding planner is one of our best friends. Our tastes are very similar, so we put all the responsibility on our her shoulders. Fortunately, everything turned out better than our expectation, and our lazy selves did not backfire on us. We did keep an inspiration board on Pinterest and tried to find inspiration from there. I found Pinterest to be very helpful in forming our vision and keeping task with our planner.

Congratulations to Phong and Hoang, and a special thanks to Junebug member Phan Tien Photography for sharing this epic Vietnam elopement with Junebug! Haven’t considered eloping? Here are 4 reasons why you might want to!

This Lake Como Wedding at Relais Villa Vittoria Blended Pakistani and Irish Traditions with a Whole Lotta Joy

August 6, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

We’ve been smiling since the moment we opened Sara and Brian’s Lake Como wedding gallery and we’re so excited to finally be able to share it! This adorable couple infused so much joy, culture, and intention into their destination wedding at Relais Villa Vittoria to give their guests an unforgettable experience. Sara donned a seriously eye-catching traditional Pakistani wedding dress that she had custom made by Nomi Ansari and Brian honored his Irish heritage in a kilt. We love that the couple personalized their ceremony by having a dear friend officiate – not to mention their ceremony spot couldn’t have been more gorgeous! Autumn Nicole Photography captured the magic of Lake Como and the newlyweds’ love brilliantly and we know you won’t be able to help cracking a smile as you scroll through the photos.

The Couple:

Sara and Brian

The Wedding:

Relais Villa Vittoria, Laglio, Italy

I always knew that I wanted to wear a traditional Pakistani wedding dress. Pakistani weddings are a beautiful, colorful, and extremely joyful occasion and that was something I wanted to bring that rich cultural background to my own wedding. I got my dress custom made in Pakistan and was inspired by this gorgeous engagement picture of my grandmother in a navy, shimmering traditional dress. In another nod to my grandmother, I wore a pearl necklace that she had bequeathed to me and asked that I wear on my wedding day.

There were three things that were really important to us when we were planning our wedding: we wanted it to be intimate, we wanted our guests to bond and share an unforgettable experience, and we wanted it to feel very personal.

In keeping with the theme of making our wedding personal to us, our song choices reflected this as well: Sara walked down the aisle to “Somebody to Love” by Queen played on a classical guitar. After we were married “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys was played on a classical guitar.

We both decided to wear traditional clothing from our respective cultures which helped give our wedding a very personal look. We were married by Brian‘s cousin – a beloved friend and confidant who we’ve shared many incredible adventures with, who delivered a deeply personal and funny ceremony.

The most unforgettable part of the day for us was just being with some of our nearest and dearest beneath the snow capped mountains in a beautiful villa by the shores of Lake Como. Being surrounded by so much beauty and love made such a lasting impression and really elevated the experience of our wedding day. Another particularly special part of the day was the fact that after we finished dancing, we all shared scotch and cigars outside while just spending time together laughing and joking. It was the most perfect way to cap off an incredible day – with our loved ones laughing and enjoying our time together.
