Romantic Rustic San Diego Wedding at BRICK Liberty Station

October 7, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Industrial elegance met rustic chic design in Brianna and Daniel’s San Diego wedding at BRICK Liberty Station! The planners at Bliss Events helped the couple bring their dream wedding to life with lush florals from Organic Elements and rustic farmhouse tables that added a charming yet casual feel to the all-brick venue. The creative couple and their family put their DIY skills to great use creating special details, from the hand-painted tile place cards to the wood and neon ceremony and sweetheart table backdrops. Even amid the chaos of the day, Brianna and Daniel had the chance to sneak away with Dani Purington Photography to enjoy a beer and to take the sweetest newlywed photos. From beginning to end, this San Diego wedding was a total love fest that completely stole our hearts!

The Couple:

Brianna and Daniel

The Wedding:

BRICK Liberty Station, San Diego, California

We wanted our day to reflect us entirely. Rather than a common arch as a focal point of the ceremony, I(bride) asked my dad to make a wooden backdrop, which we decorated with flowers and a neon “Davis” sign to display our last name. Each of the songs throughout our day held so much meaning. Our table numbers were beer growlers, naturally. Instead of a formal cake for everyone, we opted for customizable cookie ice cream sandwiches from a local business. Even the signature drinks — his, jack and coke, hers, spicy margarita — give insight into who we are as a couple.

The most memorable part of the day for us was when we snuck away from all that was going on to have a beer at the Bottlecraft, the beer shop across the street during cocktail hour. We made this time a priority as we knew we’d need a little getaway after the ceremony. The fact that our photographer and videographer were with us was perfect because they captured us in our element. It felt like we could experience our normal in such an abnormal day. We got back to us. We kissed, looked each other in the eye, and said, “Damn, life is good.”

The wedding planning advice that we’d give is to pick your top three priorities and plan those things out perfectly. Everything else will fall into place. The little details truly don’t matter. Things like the stitch on the napkin are things that you won’t remember or fret over a year down the road (or even a week down the road). It’s SO easy to get caught up in the details and pleasing every person on your guest list but the truth is that your guests will think it’s beautiful and you and your spouse will be over the moon. You’ll be officially married. That’s the only thing that matters.

This Emotional Ontario Wedding at Home Uses Greenery Decor in the Most Epic Ways

October 6, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

As if the woodsy waterfront vibes of this at-home wedding weren’t charming enough, the eucalyptus installations, lush table centerpieces, and wild bouquets made us realize just how stunning simplicity can be! Bryanne and Andrew chose to tie the knot at the bride’s childhood home, which not only brought their relationship full circle but provided an epic backdrop for their rustic, casual celebration. The couple DIY’d their invitations and the eucalyptus wall for the reception space and then brought in the talented team at Frid Events to add the rest of the florals to their greenery wonderland. From top to bottom, this at-home wedding was the perfect combination of elegance and laid-back charm, and Grace & Gold Studios captured it all beautifully!

The Couple:

Bryanne and Andrew

The Wedding:

Private Residence, Cobden, Ontario, Canada

We got married at my parents lakeside house and my childhood home. There was something so comforting knowing that I was going to marry my best friend at the same place where we started this journey together and built our relationship, it just seemed right.

Our goal for our wedding was to simply have fun and enjoy our day with all of our favourite people. We ended up getting in the water for some of our photos, so I think it’s safe to say we managed to pull that off!

Some of our most memorable moments would be the arch that all of our friends and family drove through to arrive at our ceremony. The arch belonged to Andrew’s late grandfather and it was his tradition to install the arch at family weddings. It was nice that we could carry on that tradition. The memory I’m so fortunate for and will forever cherish, was having both my mother and father walk me down the aisle. It was such a special moment that we all got to share together.

Some advice would be to add some personal touches but also leave some stuff to the professionals. We DIY’d a lot of our decorations but the one thing we’re happy we didn’t do ourselves was the florals. Our florist Brittany went above and beyond and even surprised us with the arch and florals for our ceremony. It was stunning! Brittany made everything stress free and was such an amazing help from day one!

We wanted some personal touches throughout our wedding so we decided to hand make our wedding invitations. We hand pressed the eucalyptus that we attached to every invitation and wine bottle. We also diy’d all of our wedding signs, wine labels, moss chair and table numbers. We took real birch trees and willows branches from the property and use that as our decor and our head table backdrop.

For our wedding favours we had vintage teacups with a variety of different herbs and plants. We had never seen these done as a favour before but we loved the idea of it. We wanted something that would tie in with the vibe of our wedding but also have a personal touch. We collected all of the vintage teacups ourselves and hand planted all of the herbs from seeds.

When starting the wedding process, people told us to pick one thing that was really important to the both of us, book that and go from there. For us, it was the photos. When we stumbled upon Tracy’s Instagram, we knew we needed her as our photographer. We actually even booked our wedding date around her availability in July! Her candid shots are so genuine as it felt like we were just hanging out with a friend all day. She is such a kind and genuine human being and we can’t say enough good things about her! When you leave the wedding day feeling like your photographer has become a friend, you know they’re doing something right!
