This Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat Wedding Brings the Glamour to the Great Outdoors

July 27, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

It’s no easy feat to pull off a vibe that is simultaneously outdoorsy and glamorous, but Chelsie and Mike totally nailed it for their Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat wedding! Between the rock chapel and the enchanted forest-inspired florals designed by Gypsy Carmen, the day felt more like a retreat escape than just a wedding celebration. But the bride’s incredible champagne and lace gown from Goddess By Nature added an unbelievably sophisticated feel that we just can’t help but admire! There were so many stand-out elements during this celebration and Lauren Campbell Photography managed to capture every single one without missing a beat. If you’re looking for elegant and outdoorsy wedding inspiration, look no further!

The Couple:

Chelsie and Mike

The Wedding:

Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat, New South Wales, Australia

The most important part of planning our wedding was creating a day that reflected us as a couple. We wanted it to be about celebrating our love and also about having a great time with our family and friends. We loved the idea of a wedding getaway with onsite accomodation so we could spend more time with our guests.

When our celebrant Todd declared us married, Mike and I walked together back down the aisle to “Inner Smile” by Texas while all of the guests threw petals at us and our bridal party followed. It was such a great moment! Mike and I had a big kiss and hug and everyone came around us cheering and dancing to the song.

Mike and I wanted our guests to feel as they had stepped into an enchanted forest for the day, and funnily enough, our floral designer Clare from Gypsy Carmen described the wedding as a “candy woodland,” which hit the nail on the head. The florals for the day were the standout with base colors of burgundy, pink, and yellow and loads of fresh green foliage.

Old Hollywood Meets Tropical Effortlessness in This Palm Springs Ace Hotel & Swim Club Wedding

July 26, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

When it comes to tropical sophistication, nothing compares to this Ace Hotel & Swim Club wedding in Palm Springs! Margaret and Stefan added classic vibes to the retro venue, and the result was pure magic. The tropical touches added just the right amount of color to their black and white palette, and the personalized details for their guests made the entire event feel warm, inviting, and elegantly sentimental. From the moment we laid eyes on these images captured by The Times We Have, we were in love with this sweet couple, their beautiful love story, and this incredible California summer wedding!

The Couple:

Margaret and Stefan

The Wedding:

Ace Hotel & Swim Club, Palm Springs, California

The most important thing to us when planning our wedding was not making it hard on ourselves. We’re big believers of less is more, and we tried to simplify when possible so we could fully enjoy every element of our wedding without stress given it was a destination. We also had so much fun curating our music! On a road trip through California months before our wedding, we began putting together playlists for the ceremony, cocktail, dinner, and dancing portions of the wedding. This process was so much fun, and the music ended up being a highlight of the day.

Our ceremony was the most memorable part of our wedding. We were lucky to have a close family friend who we respect and look up to officiate us, which made it very intimate and personal. We cared a lot about the messages and themes in our ceremony and wanted everyone to feel connected. We also wrote and read individual vows to each other, which was so powerful. We’re really happy we did that!

Our best advice? Don’t sweat the small stuff! The little things don’t matter and often soak up too much time, energy, and money. Focus on what’s most important and use your energy wisely.

We decided to give hand-written cards to each guest. This was probably the most unique touch that we were really committed to doing, even though it did take a lot of time to write notes to everyone! We loved the idea of making a personalized connection to each guest given everyone traveled to be there for us that day and allowed us to express our gratitude individually.
