The couple tied the knot with their nearest and dearest in an outdoor ceremony that overlooked the Hudson River and then danced the night away in an Americana-inspired reception inside the venue’s cozy barn. The grooms’ sophisticated style, along with their wedding party’s chic looks, elevated the feel of the entire day and took rustic elegance to a whole new level. A torrential downpour followed by the heavens opening up and blessing us with the crispest and most brisk, seasonal, sunny, and naturally beautiful day of fall! We felt like everyone was with us that day, near and far. The ceremony was the most memorable: the grace, humor, eloquence, articulation of our officiant, the sincerity of our vows, the beauty of the grooms’ parties and guests against the natural backdrop. The most impactful was the love and support of such a diverse group of family and friends.
Give yourself time to enjoy your engagement and provide an ample planning lead time! Make sure you are thorough with your vendors (especially your DJ/band). Manage realistic expectations; don’t overdo it. Leave the decisions to the couple and minimize any third (fourth, fifth…) party noise. Be courteous and gracious with your vendors — trust them to do their jobs but remain diligent with follow-up and direction. Hire a day-of coordinator. If you don’t have a fiancé who can plan between your busy schedules, get a planner! Be strategic with your budget and consistent in your savings; set a clear financial plan.
