When Adrien and Manon were planning their wedding, they knew they wanted a venue with a rich Ibizan feel and a party environment, so a destination day at Las Cicadas was the perfect choice! We’re swooning over their rust and white color palette. The pop of burnt orange from the bridesmaids’ dresses was just the right amount of color—and we can’t get over their chic ceremony hats! To help with planning, the couple hired Ibiza Cloud9 Events, who pulled off their glitzy, fairy tale wedding dreams. If you’ve ever dreamed of a wedding with a touch of Ibiza bohemia and Rio carnival, you’re going to love every photo Tali Photography captured of Adrien and Manon’s day!
The venue was the first thing we chose. We knew from the beginning that we wanted to get married at Las Cicadas. It has such a special Ibizan feel and is a great place to party.
Our photographers where really great the team captured the essence of everything so well and naturally without getting in the way. I love the photos where we are being lifted up in the chairs & the samba dancers, they are so dramatic and fun and sum up the energy of the day,
We simply adore Alexis and Nick’s destination wedding at the bright, lovely Hotel Santa Caterina on the Amalfi Coast! The couple put their total trust in the planning team at Mae & Co Creative to pull off the destination wedding of their dreams—and it was a total success. From the swoon-worthy florals Good Seed Floral masterfully created with pretty colors of pink, coral, and light rust, to a reception space that will make you smile, we just can’t get enough of this day! If you’re ready to be inspired by every little detail, then scroll on to see how Karra Leigh Photography captured every moment with perfection.
My favorite part of the day was the initial walk through in the garden with Nick. Up until that point, our wedding had just been a mood board in my mind and to see it all come to life was breathtaking. I’ve imagined my wedding day for as long as I can remember and nothing I ever dreamt of could have lived up to the feeling I had when I saw Nick for the first time that day. Getting to walk through all of the details Mae&Co created, just the two of us, was a priceless moment I’ll cherish forever.
From Nick: My favorite part of our wedding day would definitely have to be when Alexis and I exchanged our vows. We had decided to write our own vows and finally getting to share them in such a beautiful and intimate setting overlooking the Amalfi Coast is a moment I’ll never forget. She looked incredible and I cried my eyes out. I am forever grateful to have shared that moment with her all while being surrounded by our loved ones.
When choosing to travel to Italy for our wedding, we didn’t just invite our guests for the day of, we invited them to join us for the entire week leading up to the big day. Everyone always tells you how fast your wedding day goes and this was our way of prolonging this moment. We got to experience a new country and celebrate for days with the people we love most.
When we all sat down for dinner following our ceremony, we looked around the table at the people we each hold closet to our hearts. We had just spent six days with each other eating, dancing, laughing, crying and most definitely laughing until we were crying with all of them. Most of them were strangers to each other six days previous to this moment, and now we were all family. There was no small talk at this table, there were no introductions. Instead, we had new Italian nicknames and lingo that only we knew (tutu fruiti for life), toasts that had inside jokes we were all in on, and meaningful hugs at the end of the night knowing we had done what we all came for – to celebrate life, love, and make memories that none of us will forget.
We consider ourselves a pretty laid back couple when it comes to planning things, so when we saw the opportunity to visit the Amalfi Coast and get married along side our favorite wedding team – of course we jumped on it! When choosing location, we debated doing a small dinner in a villa somewhere on the coast but when we found the Hotel Santa Caterina, everything just started to fall into place. The idea that we get to go back and stand in the very place we got married in the future definitely was the icing on the cake. Hotel Santa Caterina itself is magnificently decorated with Italian tile and filled with history, the views are unbeatable and the service was stellar. With location being one of the only big decisions we actually had to make, we absolutely would not change a thing about our choice.
Karra (our photographer) is gold. We all shared a good laugh at our reception dinner about how she slid into my DMs and that’s how we found each other – a true modern day love story. We decided to do our engagement shoot together and never looked back. Working with her again on our wedding day was just like having another friend there. She’s patient, filled with warm encouragements during nerve wrecking moments, and will never let you be photographed with a hair tie on your wrist! At the end of the night we shared a good cry because what we had there was pure love – and some good Italian wine. She’s easy going and makes Nick and I (the most awkward people to professionally photograph) look effortless. Without her, we would have never found Mae & Co, Good Seed, Jess Heron or this opportunity. She is the reason for everything. We love you, Karra!
When choosing to partner with Mae & Co creative, we put total control and trust in them to style our wedding. Everything Manda (owner and creative producer) does is magic. She is truly one of a kind and we were so lucky to work with her, Johnny, and Good Seed Floral. We discussed a few ideas and within a few weeks we received our mood board and man did they deliver.
Give us all the moonlight ceremonies, please! Irene and Cem’s moody, nighttime Wolf Feather Honey Farm wedding in Temecula, California was everything but traditional. When the couple was planning their day, it was important to get married under a new moon—the most opportune time to set new life intentions together. So they decided to forgo the traditional wedding itinerary and say “I do” under the stars! Pre-ceremony the couple hosted their family and friends in a most adorable reception set-up with boho Thrifted Sisters Vintage rentals, eats from C&L Catering, and an adorable LA Union Coffee truck. If you’ve ever dreamed of a totally unique wedding at every turn, you are going to swoon over every fabulous photo May Iosotaluno Photography captured of Irene and Cem’s romantic day.
I didn’t want to wear my gown before walking the aisle – I wanted it to be a surprise for Cem. So I ended up getting a second bridal outfit, the Patsy Jumper by RIme Arodaky, which I wore for all the pre-wedding festivities. I thought it was super elegant, but wouldn’t upstage by ceremony gown. Since it has trousers, I was also super comfy.
Logistically, because we wanted to get married at night, and the sun did not set until 7pm that night, it forced us to rethink our whole wedding schedule. We ended up doing cocktail hour and dinner first, before the ceremony, followed by reception/dance party. It actually worked out great, because nobody was sitting around hungry and people were well on their way to “party-land” by the time the actual reception rolled around.
We were especially impressed with our Caterer, C&L Catering and Decor, which is headed by lovely husband and wife team, Curtis and Liana. The owner of our venue had recommended them to us, as a caterer who had done smaller events there, but wanted to venture into larger parties and weddings. We actually met with 6 different caterers in the vetting process. Every other Caterer had more experience than C&L, but the reason we ultimately chose C&L was because they seemed genuinely excited for our wedding. They were eager to make our wedding special, and come up with food that we really liked – from the hors d’oeuvres to the grazing boards to the entree to the late-night snacks . The menu evolved and changed many times leading up to the wedding, simply because they would get a new idea and email us saying, “Hey, we made something new. What do you think of this?” We really appreciated their creativity and attentiveness. Honestly, they just made the other Caterers seem a bit “cookie-cutter” to us. We eventually decided to have them cater our rehearsal dinner the night before as well. Can’t recommend them enough!
I knew I wanted a moody, bohemian, outdoor wedding, so naturally, Cem and I began looking for venues that already had that vibe. We are so grateful that we found Wolf Feather Honey Farm, a pistachio farm nestled deep in Temecula’s Wine Country. We knew it was the venue for us the minute we arrived for our tour. However it wasn’t until later, when we were admiring the panoramic view of their hilltop Ceremony Site, that the idea to have a moon wedding first hit me. “What if we had a Night Wedding?” I asked aloud, “We could get married under the stars! It would be so romantic.” Chari Davis, the owner of the venue, loved the idea and gave us the go-ahead, even though nobody had ever attempted a night wedding there before. From there, the vision started coming together, and over time, it evolved into the celestial, witchy, new moon ritual that was “Camp Young Hearts.”
I loved how our Ceremony Site came together. We hired a lighting team to make the whole place twinkle, and also rented a horned crescent moon and clouds from a vintage-themed photo booth company to serve as our altar. Our lighting team wrapped the moon in faerie lights, which added an extra bit of magick. The venue provided beautiful vintage rugs for the aisle-way and supplemented the lighting with lots and lots of candles in glass vases.
Cem and I met at a Contemporary dance class which one of my best friends was teaching (she stood as bridesmaid in the wedding as well). We knew we wanted to choreograph something together that would infuse both of our styles and we chose a really romantic song, “La Vie en Rose,” (the Louis Armstrong version). We also decided that we would do something special: instead of waiting until the reception, we would take our First Dance at the Ceremony Site, immediately after “I now pronounce you Husband and Wife.” We thought it might be a special surprise to our friends and family, who were still seated and could not have expected it. We had a large vintage rug as our dance floor, the night sky above us, and the sparkling paper moon and clouds as our backdrop. “Give your heart and soul to me, and life will always be…la vie en rose…”
May Iosotaluno was truly amazing. She was more than a photographer, she was the coordinator I didn’t know I needed! She was extremely on top of everything, connecting with the other vendors and going over important scheduling, even weeks before the wedding. I felt like I could rely on her for anything that day. She really took care to capture the moments she knew we would want, without being invasive or getting in the way of others. We are so thrilled with how the photos came out.
As someone who planned their own wedding, my advice would be: Take the time to find the vendors who really understand your vibe and your aesthetic. You want people on your team who are excited and inspired by your vision, because those are the people who are going to elevate it further. Ask them for their recommendations for other vendors, because chances are, they run with awesome, like-minded people. Also, don’t be afraid to give people who are newer to the industry a chance. They are usually the ones who are eager to do a great job.
