Yummii and John’s glamorous outdoor Italian wedding took place in the Amalfi Coast where the pair exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony. The wedding styling was kept simple as to reflect the effortless rustic Italian setting and to showcase Yummii’s positively stunning bridal fashion: an embellished Marietta Haddad gown and a sparkling headpiece from the bride’s own accessories collection. Photographer Stina Kase beautifully captured the couple’s joy and the wedding’s thoughtful details.

The Couple:

Yummii and John

The Wedding:

Sant’ Alfonso Agriturismo, Amalfi Coast, Italy

The Inspiration:

We wanted it to be about “us”… We didn’t really have a strong theme in mind – rather what we placed importance on was our approach to the whole planning; simple, fun, and remind ourselves that this day is about ‘love’. As we were having a really small and intimate gathering in Italy; we wanted it to be about our guests, our love, and the start of us being husband and wife.

Our inspiration was the location itself – the breathtaking Amalfi Coast! In terms of the decor, we were so blessed to have a really exceptional venue and our incredibly talented friend Linda, who is a professional stylist manage the look and feel. We pretty much gave them free reign and they worked their magic!

I have my own accessories label which is all about handcrafted luxury so I created the bow-ties and lapel pins for the groomsmen; earrings, headpieces, and sashes for the bridesmaid. I also made my own earrings and headpiece.

The Moments:

What wasn’t my favourite moment!! I wouldn’t be able to pin-point one specific moment as every moment was just magical!! It was magical because the air was filled with so much love from the ones we love. The day was a celebration of connection, of magic, of joy, of friendship, and creating an everlasting memory amongst all of us. “Us” getting married was just an extra bonus. To have the ones you love in the one space, laughing, sharing, connecting -it is the most delicious and divine experience. We felt so blessed that 28 family and friends travelled from Sydney to Italy to celebrate.

The Couple Recommends:

All of our vendors were amazing! Michela from Sant’ Alfonso Agriturismo (venue), Stina (photographer), Mat & Miki (videographers), Francesca from Our Boutique Wedding (organized our paper-work, wedding planning in Italy), Linda (close friend and stylist), Liz (sister-in-law and Hair/ Make-Up Artist), Marietta (close friend and couturier). Everyone was incredible.

We truly had the dream team – Effortless, graceful, friendly, and it was just one big family! We feel so blessed to have so many talented souls contribute to the creation of a wonderful moment in our lives.

Sweet and Casual West Virginia Wedding

April 5, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Sweet-and-Casual-West-Virginia-Wedding (15 of 30)

Ben and Betsy wanted their wedding to feel like a joining of two communities. That’s why for their West Virginia wedding at Oglebay Formal Gardens, the couple included their friends and family in the planning of their big day. Every item in the wedding had sentimental value. The bride altered her mother’s vintage laced gown, so she could include it in the ceremony. Siblings, aunts, uncles, and parents participated in making Ben and Betsy’s day unforgettable — even the bride’s best friend was the officiant. White linens and green florals dressed the tables at the reception, creating simply beautiful decor. Amazing photographer Steven Dray captured every sweet new moment the couple spent as husband and wife.

The Couple:

Ben and Betsy

The Wedding:

Oglebay Formal Gardens, Wheeling, West Virginia

The Inspiration:

Ben and I had always talked about eloping at City Hall. We had a hard time seeing the purpose of a wedding and did not want to spend a lot of money on a 1-day event. We are both very close with our families though and realized that it was very important to share such an important part of our life with them. That and my mom threatened my life if I got married without her there. Since we felt the purpose in us having a wedding was the joining of our communities, our families and friends, we kind of made that our theme. We made all decisions on the wedding based upon including family, friends, meaning and sentimental touches wherever we could. We also wanted it to be laid back and slightly non-traditional to fit our personalities.

The Moments:

My favorite moment from the wedding was the ceremony. It was just so genuine and real, filled with love and support from the most important people in our lives. At one point, the officiant (my best friend), was crying when she was speaking and to settle her emotions she cracked a joke saying, “I’m probably the only officiant who has cried while conducting a marriage ceremony.”

The Couple Recommends:

Our photographer, Steven Dray, was amazing! He is professional, genuine, talented, creative, kind and has an upbeat yet gentle demeanor. He truly loves his craft and it shows. Ben and I do not like to take pictures of ourselves and we almost did not hire a professional photographer because of this. Hiring Steven was one of the best decisions we made. He made us feel totally comfortable and captured so many beautiful moments that we will now get to cherish forever in pictures. He is so discreet you don’t even notice he is there most of the time, and so genuine that when you do notice he is there you forget that he is not there as a friend. What stood out about Steven is that he truly cares about what a wedding means to a couple and it shows in every interaction with him and every photo he takes. I have worked in NYC in fashion for 7 years and on hundreds of photo shoots and to this day Steven is one of the best photographers I have worked with.

Waterfront Wedding at South Whidbey State Park

April 5, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Waterfront-Wedding-at-South-Whidbey-State-Park (20 of 28)

After finding out his fiancée wanted to keep her family’s tradition of an elopement, Robert decided to do something special. He knew Kate loves Seattle and decided that he would surprise her by planning the entire wedding in secret. After they arrived for their vacation in Seattle, Robert told Kate they were actually there to elope. She was ecstatic! The couple exchanged personally written vows at the enchanting South Whidbey State Park and was surrounded by natural greenery and waterfront views. Red florals in the bouquet added a pop of color to the calm, serene setting. Photographer Lena Peterson expertly captured the precious moments the couple spent at their intimate elopement.

The Couple:

Kate and Robert

The Wedding:

South Whidbey State Park, Whidbey Island, Washington

The Inspiration:

Soon after we got engaged in June, I learned that Kate wanted to keep her family tradition of eloping. It sounded perfect to me. Our desire was simple… Make our wedding day about our lives coming together in a way that matched us. We wanted it to be unique and possibly a little adventurous, while being fun and stress free. Two months later, we were still in the preliminary stages of planning. There were too many beautiful places to choose from, and we were having a hard time deciding. Wedding planning was becoming stressful, which was something Kate had hoped to avoid. Because she loves surprises, I decided to plan it all without her knowing.

I knew Kate would want it to be beautiful and unique, and I knew she’d want amazing pictures. After deciding on Seattle, countless emails and phone calls, I found the right minister and photographer, and soon found the right location. The only detail left was for her to buy a dress once she found out. We flew to Seattle arriving late Friday. Early Saturday morning, I told Kate her Seattle wedding dream would soon come true with “Oh by the way, we’re getting married on Tuesday.” She was surprised and thrilled! She found a dress that same day.

The pictures speak for themselves. The rain held off and we were surprised with a double rainbow after the ceremony. It was perfect! So, in short, timing was a big factor for our inspiration :)

The Moments:

My favorite moment of our wedding day was when Robert and I stood hand in hand on a windy, cloudy Seattle beach and made the promise to be committed to each other for the rest of our lives. We had written our vows together. We shared hopes and dreams, we cried, made each other laugh. Time stood still. Our hearts were so full of love and I think that it brought everything we felt for each other into one moment. It was so powerful.

The Couple Recommends:

We really only worked with an officiant, photographer and hair and make up stylist and all three of them were amazing!! Pat worked very hard to officiate our day in a way that made it true to us. Shyn did a beautiful job on my hair and make up. She was professional and super fun to work with. The photographer, Lena, was so amazing. I can’t say enough about her amazing talent. Her pictures speak for themselves. She went above and beyond before the wedding, during the wedding, and after to make sure our day was perfect. She was quick to respond to emails and questions. She even scouted out our ceremony sight the weekend before the wedding since she had never done a shoot there. Our pictures are gorgeous (although we know we may be partial :) and Lena did the most incredible job of capturing our wedding day as the fairy tale that it was.
