Arabian Wedding Inspiration from Yas Island

As summer is officially in full swing, we are excited for the epic beach destination weddings happening all over the world. This bohemian beach inspiration comes from Abu Dhabi where photographer Maria Sundin captured the natural beauty of the rocky shore, wild breeze, and the neutral, pastel colors of Yas Island.

Here’s what Maria Sundin had to say about capturing the Arabian wedding inspiration:

This styled shoot was a simple styled shoot that we did together as we really wanted to make use of the wind and the earth at this gorgeous rocky beach location in Abu Dhabi. We wanted the shoot to have an organic and earthy feel to it and we loved the simplicity and lightness of the silky HOM dress combined with the rustic flowers that came partly from Issa’s flower shop and partly from his back garden. Since we are in the Arab world, we of course wanted a touch of Arabia which we got from the handmade Morroccan pouffs and the cotton pom pom blankets, courtesy of The People of Sand online concept store.

Casual Backyard Wedding in Massachusetts

With the help of a few talented local professionals, the casual backyard wedding Emily and Caleb had dreamed of came to fruition. Held at Caleb’s family’s home, the pair were married in a community-oriented ceremony with their loved ones circled around them. This led to some absolutely touching images by photographer Meg Haley, who captured the love and emotion on Emily and Caleb’s most special day.

The Inspiration:

We wanted an outdoor, rustic, and very community-oriented wedding on Caleb‘s family’s land in western Massachusetts. I was inspired by a photograph I’d seen on another blog of a circular ceremony: all of the guests surrounding the couple in a wide ring. I thought that was the perfect way to symbolize the importance of the family and friends surrounding us and supporting us — not only at our wedding, but in life.

The Moments:

There are so many moments. The dance party is something I’ll never forget – we had our east coast and west coast family and friends do a dance-off that got everyone onto the floor. The ceremony itself was spectacular – my dad sang a 7 verse, humorous song and had everyone doubled over in laughter throughout the entire ceremony. I’ve never laughed so much at a wedding. The maid of honor and best man speeches were incredibly meaningful and sweet – we have some wonderful photos of them that Meg our photographer took. I’m getting very nostalgic remembering it all!

Bohemian Costa Rica Elopement

We feel so lucky to be able to share Janet and Mike’s intimate elopement celebrating their 15 years spent together! The Costa Rica elopement took place on Tamarindo Beach where Four Winds Weddings organized a truly special ceremony for the couple and their precious daughters. Costa Vida Photography joined the family to captured such a beautiful day spent in the sand and sun.

The Inspiration:

It was a true elopement — we wanted simple but with some magic thrown in. I love everything boho, so I needed something along that aesthetic but something more sexy for a dress. We incorporated pieces from our home: a rug from our youngest daughter’s room and a vintage tapestry and kantha that we acquired over the years. I wore pieces of jewelry that Mike had gotten me throughout our 15 years together and it really made me think of the journey that we have been on together.

The Moments:

Well, the whole entire day was just magic from beginning to end. We fell in love with Costa Rica pretty hard and were enjoying a pretty awesome trip leading up to the wedding.

Everyone was absolutely perfect. From the very first contact Kirsten and Jon were on point and got what I was looking for. They had such great energy and nailed it on every level. My photos blow my mind. Im still obsessing over them. They are professional, laid back and just “got it” — two talented people. Oh and Kirsten totally picked the right officiant for us. He had such a cool vibe! Tricia from Maravilla weddings is so sweet and talented. I could not have even envisioned a better day.
