With a southwestern chic bohemian style, Amanda and Kyle tied the knot at the Spirit Ranch in Lubbock, Texas surrounded by loved ones. Photographed by Geoff Duncan, this wedding is full of unique touches and such personality! There’s so much to love, from the bride’s beaded Anthropologie belt and whimsical floral crown, to the colorful custom invitations and eclectic southwestern inspired decor. Not to mention the groom’s sweet serenade to his bride as her father walked her down the aisle!
The Couple: Amanda and Kyle
The Wedding: 10.26.2014 – Spirit Ranch, Lubbock, Texas
The Goals: Our main priority was to have a wedding that we wanted allowing our personalities to shine through, and for it to be enjoyable for our families and friends. We made sure that when people were at the wedding there was no question that it was our wedding. We wanted each detail to be reflective of us.
The Design: Our wedding style concept was a Southwest, New Mexico wedding with lots of bohemian touches.
The Look: I purchased by dress at a sample sale at Unbridaled in Austin. I can get overwhelmed rather easily so going to a sample sale to try and find your wedding dress is pretty scary! The girls at the store were amazing and my oldest sister actually saw another bride wearing the dress that she knew would be mine. Once she heard the other girl say, “It’s pretty but not for me,” my sister stalked the dress until I could try it on! Once I had it on I felt beautiful and lost my breath. My dad was with all of us, and when he cried and told me I looked pretty, I knew it was the one! My shoes were all about something comfortable and pretty so that was all I was going for there! They were rose gold and went with my amazing belt I found at Anthropologie. I actually purchased two of the belts and had my amazing seamstress sew them together so that it would appear to be seamless!
The Moments: One of my favorite moments of the day was when Kyle and his groomsmen (who are all musicians) played “I Will Wait” by Mumford & Sons while everyone walked down the aisle. Having Kyle stand at the end of the aisle singing as I walked down with my dad was a moment that I will cherish and love forever. It was beautifully perfect!
The Advice: I think the best advice that I can give is don’t get stressed out with all the little details and forget to enjoy where you and your fiancé are. You will never get this period of time back so enjoy your engagement and don’t let the planning take over. For the wedding day just remember to be present and enjoy every bit of it! Also, remember that this day is just the beginning of the adventure not the whole story.
