We love an engagement session location that’s a little unexpected, and who would have guessed that this gritty underground Stockholm would be so positively romantic? Agnes Stenlund Photography captured the dark, light, and love Ida and Olle bring to their relationship in this ultra-urban Swedish engagement session, and we just can’t take our eyes off of it!
Ida and Olle’s Swedish engagement proves you don’t need a fairy tale setting to have an utterly gorgeous engagement session! For more urban engagement inspiration, check out Becca and Matt’s NYC engagement shoot in the Meatpacking District.
With the help of their excellent wedding planners at Lovely Day Styling, Tabitha and Scott’s wedding took the Mantoloking Yacht Club to the next level. The gorgeous mint and peach palette was a unique alternative for the waterfront celebration that perfectly embodied the lightness of a summer wedding in New Jersey. Tabitha looked like a princess in her Monique Lhuillier wedding gown, and each of her bridesmaids wore a coral dress of their choice for a mismatched, yet romantic look.
While we wanted to somewhat maintain a “beach” theme because of the setting, we also didn’t want it to be overly “beachy.” There are many people who have gotten married at the same church, with a reception to follow at the Yacht Club, but we wanted to make sure our wedding felt unique and personal. The first way in which we made that happen was by asking my bridesmaids to each pick out their own dress from the same coral color palate. The end result was amazing. All of my friends looked beautiful in the dress they had picked out for themselves, and I loved how each dress reflected each of their personalities. From there, with the help of Colleen & Beth at Lovely Day Styling, we selected small & personal details to make the whole day feel special.
The Moments:
I had two favorite moments – the first was when we all took the boat out following the ceremony and before the cocktail reception. It gave us a moment to soak everything in, and also gave us a cool & breezy relief from the unexpected heat that day!!
My second favorite moment was the dance my brothers organized for me during the reception. It was somewhat of a “surprise”, but since I have three brothers they wanted to do something special for me during the wedding. I got the chance to dance with each of them to the song “Rosalita” by Bruce Springsteen, and the whole (somewhat uncoordinated) dance had everyone at the reception laughing, and kicked off the dancing for the rest of the night.

To be honest, everyone we worked with was amazing. From Lovely Day Styling, Ryan Brown Catering, and our florist Jakki… we couldn’t have done it without any of them!! They truely knew what they were doing and guided us throughout the whole process.
Julia and André’s wedding in São Paulo was tropical, nostalgic, and family-centric — just like the couple envisioned for their big day. The pair said “I do” barefoot in the forest of Pousada Santa Martha das Pedras, a location that had fallen in love with five years prior. Their son played a big role in the special ceremony, and, after Julia and André kissed for the first time as husband and wife, the three of them played in the ocean together where photographer Gustavo Marialva documented their absolute bliss.
We chose a very special venue for the party. We wanted it to maintain its own characteristics. I knew we would get married there the very first day we first reached those stone stairs in the middle of the forest, 5 years ago. We are both geologists, we both love nature, this is one of our favourite places in the world, so we wanted everybody there with us just to celebrate love. Picinguaba is a tiny fisherman village, close to Paraty. We wanted nature to be wild, open air, minimal intervention. And flowers, because I love them. For the wedding gowns we both wanted it to be very simple, bare foot, uncomplicated. And we wanted people to feel at home, just like we’ve always felt there.
The Moments:
The moment I stepped out of the door, atop the stairs, I felt a breeze on my face and my dress and I knew I was meant to live that moment, and felt that it was perfect. Then my little one suddenly exclaimed “Look at the moon!!” And everyone looked at it. André’s favourite moment was the ceremony itself, held by some of our dearest friends. And both of us loved our first dance, sung by our favourite singer, the lyrics saying that “omens become clear when soulmates finally meet.”

Both the photographer (Gustavo)and the video team (Nós 2 Filmes) were incredible. Though we are very shy they just made it flow! They are super kind, amusing and very gifted! Amazing work. The catering was delicious, and did a great work, after travelling 5 hours to get from Rio de Janeiro to Picinguaba! And were still kind and attentive. Everybody loved it. And Pousada Santa Martha team and its owner Antonio, who opened his house doors so that we could have the best party ever!
A special thank you to Julia and André for sharing their tropical wedding in São Paulo with Junebug! Be sure to check out Luana and Aruanã’s DIY Brazilian wedding for more of Gustavo Marialva‘s stunning photography.
