Caroline and Jack’s wedding at The Thatch Barn is a great example of how valuable a village of close family and friends can be when creating an unforgettable event! The bride put her eye for design into use by creating the invitations, decorations, and even helping make the cake. The entire reception venue was decorated by their family and friends. The bride looked gorgeous in a Shades of White gown and braided updo adorned with flowers. The result was an elegant masterpiece that Daniela K Photography captured so beautifully!

We wanted our family and as many of our friends there as possible, and we wanted it to be a relaxed and natural day. We didn’t want it to be an ‘event’ for everyone. We wanted it to feel like we were hanging out with the people we loved, some of whom we hadn’t seen in quite a long time!
Our favorite photo took place at a boathouse just outside the church where we got married. A jogger ran past (as he didn’t see us) and it ended up being a really natural shot of us laughing together. It’ll be the one we have on our mantle piece for the grandchildren.
Caroline is very creative. She ended up making all sorts of decorations, the invitations, order of services, seating plan, and even helped make the wedding cake with her Grandad. Caroline‘s sister made our rings, the maid of honour arranged the bridesmaid bouquets, and the barn itself was decorated by family and friends. We were pleased we had so much personal input. It felt so much more ‘us’!
Our best advice to other couples is to get help from family and friends as much as possible. We were both really busy with work and wouldn’t have been able to get it done without the help we had. Also, don’t worry about the small things! No one notices the little things that may not go to plan. Finally, remember the reason your guests are there is to celebrate with you, not to be impressed.
