Lush Queensland Forest Wedding at Buderim Wirreanda Park

July 11, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Amy and Matt’s Queensland wedding combined elegant woodland vibes with naturally relaxed elements! The couple wed at Buderim Wirreanda Park, a gorgeous space that allowed them to gather their family and friends for an intimate forest ceremony and a jaw-dropping tent reception. Amy Higg Photography captured every second of the couple’s day beautifully, including their wedding’s woodland décor, greenery florals from Little Duck Botanicals, Amy’s naturally classic bridal style.

The Couple:

Amy and Matt

The Wedding:

Wirreanda Park, Queensland, Australia

The most important thing for us in planning our wedding was the atmosphere. We wanted to create an environment where it was all together elegant and classy, yet also relaxed and fun. We both are big lovers of the outdoors and so we wanted to make a beautiful woodland escape for where our wedding would be held.

Every moment of the day was so wonderful. Having all of our loved ones around us supporting our union was so special, we felt especially blessed that a lot of our overseas family were able to be apart of our day.

The most memorable part for us was seeing each other for the very first time; that feeling of knowing that all of the crazy planning was finished and that it was just time to enjoy the moment with each other. Having my dad beside me, my sisters and niece in front and all our friends and family anticipating our union was such a wonderful and surreal experience that we wish we could relive every day.

I’ve always loved English designs and Augusta Jones had such a uniquely classy yet modern style that I adored. I loved the detail of the lace on the front and the look of the open back with the buttons that run all the way down the train of the dress. I never wanted anything overly extravagant for my hair and makeup. I wanted everything to look very naturally glamorous rather than very done up. I have pretty wild hair and don’t normally wear much makeup and so I decided to do a more dressed up version of myself rather than look completely different.

The best advice that we could give would firstly be to choose three or four things that are absolutely important for your day and focus on making them happen. To then hold everything else loosely because holding onto every detail can bring so much unneeded stress. Since Matt and I had a four and a half month engagement, being okay with knowing that everything may not go to plan on the day allowed us to be more relaxed and enjoy our wedding day more.

The second piece of advice we would give, would be to allow at least one night a week for a date night where the wedding isn’t mentioned so that you can continue spending time doing the things that you love. Finally, it’s okay to reach out to friends and family for help. Our wedding would not have been what it was without our incredibly supportive friends and family. They all helped bring it together in such a beautiful way that we couldn’t have done on our own.

Our first dance song was “I’ll Be Your Lover, Too” by Van Morrison. This song is really important to us for a number of reasons. Firstly it was the first dance song played at both Matt‘s parents wedding and his sisters wedding. Secondly this song is important to us because it was the first song that we ever danced to together as a dating couple.

Glamorous Barefoot Pensacola Beach House Wedding

July 10, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Mallori and Dagan’s beach house wedding was filled with naturally nautical style and glam party moments that will put a smile on your face! The couple rented a huge house in Pensacola Beach for their entire wedding party to stay in, hosted their barefoot waterfront ceremony on the sand, and threw their gorgeous wedding reception underneath the piers of the house. Mallori and Dagan decked out their wedding with lots of driftwood accents, fresh florals, and a delicately glam color palette of blush, sage green, and gold. LAYERS Photography captured every fun moment of the couple’s day with photos and GIFs, including the rockstar moment at the end of the reception when the whole wedding party jumped in the pool!

When planning my wedding the most important part was finding a huge beach home that our entire wedding party could stay at for the weekend. This was so important to me because I wanted to create a fun filled weekend for our wedding party since they were willing to drive so far to be with us on our special day.

From the start I knew I wanted something lace but I also wanted something very beachy. I searched once again days on end on Pinterest for dresses & never found one I was in love with UNTIL I went to Low’s Bridal in Brinkley AR. The moment I walked into the store my eyes when to this dress. It was lace just like a envisioned & had a shear bodice to show off my figure. It was the first wedding dress I EVER tried on & it was THE DRESS! Of course I tried on many after but none compared to that dress.

My grandfather is so precious to me & the minute I got engaged I knew I wanted him to be the officiant of my ceremony. Only problem was…he wasn’t ordained. He went out of his way to take online courses & became an ordained officiant to perform our wedding ceremony. This was so personal for my & definitely the personal touch to our ceremony.

1. Marry Me by Train played for the seating of the grandmothers, mothers, & honorary bridesmaids.
2. Ain’t No Mountain High by Marvin Gaye was played for the entrance of the Groomsmen & Groom. It was the best!
3. Thinking Out Loud – Violin and Piano Cover by Daniel Jang was played for the entrance of the bridesmaids and flower girl.
4. I Get To Love You by Ruelle was played when I walked down the aisle.
6. Marry You by Bruno Mars was played for the exit of the bridal/groom & bridal party.
7. The first dance song was You Are The Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne
8. Bride/Father dance Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle
9. Groom/Mother dance was You’re Gonna Be by Reba McEntire

Danielle & Connor with LAYERS Photography exceeded my expectations. They were prompt with making sure we stayed on time with pictures & we so much fun to be around.

My planning advise would be HAVE FUN with it. You typically only get to have a huge wedding once in a lifetime. Don’t let the stress of the big day overcome you. Enjoy it & soak every moment in because it goes by so fast!

My favorite photo taken by my photographer would have to be the picture of the entire wedding party in the pool. That was such a awesome way to end the night & I’m so glad to have that memory in a photograph for years to come.

The most memorable part of our wedding day would be when our entire wedding party & several guests jumped into the pool at the end of the reception. Funny thing was we were just getting ready to do our exit with sparklers when my husband was thrown into the pool. I wouldn’t trade that memory & those photos for anything.

Low-Key Romantic Airbnb Wedding in Ithaca, New York

July 10, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

While on a trip to upstate New York, Whitney and Jared got engaged on a gorgeous Airbnb property with a cottage and 30-acres of views – so when they were choosing their wedding venue, they already knew exactly where their dream spot was! The couple wanted their wedding to channel low-key backyard BBQ vibes with delicate upscale touches, so with the help of their coordinator from Kinship & Co., they combined spring-inspired DIY projects with a relaxed outdoor ceremony for their perfect day. Julia Kinnuen Photography did an amazing job of capturing every moment of Whitney and Jared’s Airbnb wedding, including their inspiring portraits on the venue’s property.

The Couple:

Whitney and Jared

The Wedding:

Dream Cottage, Ithaca, New York

The most important thing for me was the ceremony and having it really capture our love. We chose this gorgeous location surrounded by nature and we wanted our guests to be filled with the beauty of the setting. Jared‘s most important things were that we had great food, amazing music and delicious donuts!

I wanted to wear a more fitted dress to show off some curve, but I also love lace. The dress felt like a good balance of vavavoom and country wedding. I LOVED my bridal sash most of all. Helena Noelle designed it and it had these beautiful raw crystals so it was more of a natural bling which I loved.

We got engaged at the property we were married. We had rented it through Airbnb and Jared proposed. We wanted a small backyard wedding and we asked the owner if she would let us have our wedding there and she said yes!

The most memorable part of the day was that everyone stayed standing for our entire ceremony. Our minister never said “please be seated” but not one person went to sit once the ceremony began. It really felt like we were supported by our whole village as we said our vows and exchanged rings.

We DIY’d the luminaries, the backdrop for the ceremony, the arch holding the backdrop, and we brought in all our own wine and snacks for the trail mix bar. I also have to give a very big shout out to Kinship & Co. and Rachel, our wedding coordinator. We couldn’t have done it without her. She was so patient, so thorough and she made our day go from good to amazing.

Breathe! Don’t worry about pleasing everyone else, plan something that truly reflects you and your partners love and joy as a couple. Make sure the food is good and once the day comes, just remember to take a few moments throughout the evening to soak it all in. Everyone in that room is there because they love you and that is such a beautiful thing.

We did not give out wedding favors. We instead had a trail mix snack bar and provided little to go bags for people to take treats with them for the trip home.

We had a friend play acoustic guitar for our ceremony. The wedding party walked down to “All You Need is Love“. The bride walked down to “Cello Prelude in D“. The recessional was “Here Comes the Bride“. First dance was “Nothing Can Change This Love.”

About 30 minutes into dancing the power completely went out. We had blown a fuse. My husband and I looked at each other in fear and thought “is this how it ends?! We have no power for lights or music the rest of the night?!”. Luckily we had an electrician in the house and 10 min later, we were back to dancing.
