Glamorous Australian Wedding with Laid-Back Vibes at Wallalong House

February 6, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Tameka and Hayden’s outdoor wedding at Wallalong House has some major glam vibes. We are loving Tameka’s bridal look that is all about classic makeup and soft glamorous curls created by Belinda de Groot Makeup and Head Rush. Tameka’s romantic look goes perfectly with her fitted Made with Love Bridal Boutique wedding dress that compliments Hayden’s timeless Hugo Boss suit. These two babes looked like old movie stars in their couple portraits inside Wallalong House and out in the open fields. Damien Milan Photography did a killer job at capturing the day and the many in-between moments that make the day extra special.

You can never start planning too early, everything takes longer than expected. Try and enjoy every moment!

There are too many memorable moments to think of – our first look, the feeling after the ceremony, or first moments as husband and wife. Oh! And a herd of steers who photo bombed us.

When it came to decorations we didn’t want to take away from the natural beauty of Wallalong House so we kept things simple.

We loved our photographer, Damien Milan. They were so wonderful to work with. They made everything easy and beautiful. We were drawn to them originally because of the beautiful, natural – in the moment – shots the seem to capture.

We didn’t want a traditional wedding. We wanted it to feel like a fun celebration, where everyone could relax and have fun. So we decided to not have designated seating, cocktail style meals and a grazing dessert table.

You Have to See the Mind-Blowing Romance and Views in this Austrian 50th Anniversary Session

February 5, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Grab a tissue because this 50th anniversary session will have you weeping. Karla and Friedrich celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and they celebrated big time! After having a party with loved ones back home, Karla and Friedrich opted for some time in Austria’s countryside to commemorate their golden anniversary. With Julia Mühlbauer Photography by their side, they explored the hill country and mountains for some portraits that will be cherished for years to come. We love how Julia captured Karla and Friedrich’s sweet love and tender looks exchanged by the two of them.

The biggest thank you to Julia Mühlbauer Photography for sharing Karla and Friedrich’s 50th anniversary session with Junebug! If you loved this session, then be sure to check out this impossibly cool Palm Springs honeymoon photo shoot!

This Ace Hotel Palm Springs Wedding Gives Us Retro California Vibes

February 5, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Jessica and Ben’s Ace Hotel Palm Springs wedding was a weekend-long celebration! After flying from New York City, Jessica and Ben embraced the cool California vibes with a pool party and desert adventures. We are obsessed with Jessica’s bridesmaids rocking “babe” denim jackets custom made by Wild Rose Shop – they are perfect addition to their mismatched dresses! And speaking of rad accessories, Ben’s velvet Del Toro loafers are the icing on the cake. With a wedding party dressed to kill, they danced (and swam!) the night away with the help of DJ Dart Collective keeping the music flowing and the party going. Both Cody and Allison Photography and Wild Light Films perfectly documented Jessica and Ben’s wedding!

The Wedding:

Ace Hotel, Palm Springs, California

We wanted our friends and family to have a weekend full of fun memories and didn’t want to limit the wedding to just one day, so we had three days of festivities (a traditional Jewish Friday night dinner under the stars, a brunch/ pool party the day before the wedding, and of course the wedding itself).

Remember to enjoy every moment of the day and the planning process. It’s easy to get caught up with the little details when planning a wedding, but what really matters is that you’re marrying the person you love and you’re surrounded by your favorite people in the world who came out to celebrate with you. That being said, I definitely recommend hiring a month or day of coordinator. Our coordinator was a life saver on the day of the wedding and made sure everything was running smooth and on time, which took the stress off of us. Also highly recommend going all out on photography and videography. When all is said and done, beautiful photos and videos that capture the day is something you will treasure forever.

We always wanted a destination wedding so finding a great location was one of the most important parts of planning the wedding. I am a wedding photographer so I definitely wanted the location to be super cool and beautiful. We actually vacationed nearby in Joshua tree the year before we got engaged and fell in love with California. We thought the desert would be the perfect place, especially because Palm Springs is surrounded by mountains and gorgeous scenery. Also, coming from NYC, where the weather can be so unpredictable, we wanted to make sure the chosen location had a slim chance of rain, but funny enough it did rain that evening in the desert (although most people were having too much fun to even notice).

Walking down the aisle seeing my husband cry and all of our closest family and friends in this beautiful place felt surreal. Our close friend married us and brought up some hilarious stories of how we met, which made our ceremony so much more special to us.

Our florist/designer decorated the venue more beautiful than I could have imagined. Because this was a destination wedding, we were only able to discuss ideas over the phone, and she was able to decorate everything exactly how I envisioned the wedding would look.

We didn’t want our wedding to scream traditional so we opted out of a wedding cake and instead had a wedding donut stand. Also helps that I am obsessed with donuts!!
