Edgy Fall Dallas Wedding Inspiration at Trinity River Audubon

September 25, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Leather jackets, warm, rich florals, and all the textures – that means one thing: fall is here. We are so excited to share our first-ever wedding inspiration shoot designed by the Junebug team. With the help of some of Dallas’ most talented vendors, this shoot showcases our favorite trends for this season’s weddings. Here is a little more insight of the inspiration behind the shoot from one of the stylists and our very own Editor-in-Chief, Carrie Schwab.

“The inspiration behind this shoot is two-fold! First of all, I love warm, autumnal colors and that feeling you get when you think of fall – cozy and intimate. My second bit of inspiration comes from a few of my favorite trends in weddings this year such as edgy details like leather jackets and asymmetrical florals. I wanted to choose two totally different design concepts for this shoot because I love when contrasting themes such as rustic minimalism or bohemian glam are thrown together. By pairing warm and cozy colors with edgy details, we were able to add a new twist to the look of a fall wedding while still maintaining those intimate, cozy feels!”

Free Spirited Cowaramup Farm Wedding

September 25, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Every wedding is special and unique to each couple, but this Cowaramup farm wedding takes the cake. With most of the wedding being DIY, Hannah and James truly made it their own. With James’ uncle officiating the ceremony held on the family farm, to Hannah’s Nana making her wedding dress, there are plenty of sweet DIY details that will have you reaching for some tissues. Shannon Stent Images photographed the magic of the day.

The Couple:

Hannah and James

The Wedding:

The Wynyard Grove, Cowaramup, Australia

The property we got married on belongs to James’ Uncle Phil and Aunty Ali. The first time I saw this property I was about 15 and James took me along to a family event. The chapel on the property was designed and built by his Aunty and Uncle – I knew as soon as I saw it that I was getting married there.

The most memorable part of the day was being pronounced Mr and Mrs Black. It gave us such a rush!

The photos speak for themselves. Shannon and Jayde were amazing. They are very relaxed and blended in well on the day. They didn’t ask us to do anything weird and we’re great at capturing the moment. They understood what we wanted to achieve and weren’t afraid to try new thing. We got on like good friends, making us (and everyone) feel very comfortable. They are very passionate and best of all, they have a great Troopcarrier 4×4, providing a bid of fun transporting us off-road for the photos.

If everyone tells you it won’t work and it’s too risky, don’t listen to them. We did a 100% DIY wedding, achieving the day we wanted on a tight budget. If you’ve got a vision and your willing to work for it, go for it. Make sure you have people around you who are willing to help you achieve your goal, even if they don’t always agree with you.

We wanted to have an intimate day and small reception. This is hard to do when we both have big families. However we achieved this by having two receptions. A picnic lunch for everyone, followed by a second reception with only immediate family and bridal party. This was in the evening at James parents house under the trees.

Processional: Concerning Hobbits – Howard Shore, Lord of The Rings Soundtrack
Recessional: L-O-V-E – Nat King Cole
First Dance: Can You Feel the Love Tonight – The Lion King

Ceremony Venue – The Wynyard Grove
Reception Venue – Private Residence
Cake – Sweet Sarahnade Cakes
Officiant – Phil Ashton

Poolside Wedding Inspiration at The Unscripted Hotel Durham

September 24, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

This sunny and relaxed poolside wedding inspiration by Autumn Harrison Photography and a team of talented professionals at the Unscripted Hotel Durham is a seriously cool tribute to retro glamour with a modern twist. Bower Bird Flowers created artistic floral designs that reflected the pops of bright color, 60s geometric patterns and gold accents found throughout the mid-century modern venue. Every styling decision was beautifully curated with unexpected details: from the sweetheart table beside the funky rooftop pool with his-and-hers signature cocktails to the white flag inspired cake, Frank Sinatra’s signal for party time. We absolutely love the bride’s dramatic, non-traditional romper wedding dress with a floaty skirt overlay!
