Romantic Pastel Wedding at The Casino San Clemente

October 14, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Rachel and Michael’s historic seaside celebration at The Casino San Clemente featured stunning Spanish colonial architecture and a lush and dreamy color palette perfect for their enchanting ceremony and patio reception. Ethereal pastel pinks and pale green florals by Hello Honey Flower Co. Floral Design perfectly accented the tree-shaded garden, chic outdoor fireplace and simple table décor that created a private oasis for their guests. The bride’s elegant Lover’s Society wedding gown featured modern, graphic lace, long sleeves and a full train and looked glowing with loose, ethereal waves and simple olive headband. We love how Kayci Roth Photography captured these two barefoot and beaming on the pebbly San Clemente beach at sunset, with the palest of pink streaking the clouds.

The Wedding:

The Casino San Clemente, San Clemente, California

The most memorable part of the day was being able to see all our planning and different aspects of the day come together. It was really exciting to see our hard work and little details being pulled into a whole experience. Sharing that experience and celebrating our love together with close friends and family was one of the best feelings.

My grandfather has been a huge part of my life and the pillar of our family. We wanted to included him as a part of our ceremony to speak words of wisdom and guidance as we joined our lives together. My grandparents have had a strong unfailing love for 57 years.

During the planning process it was very important to make sure each of my vendors were people that clicked well with me and my style. Finding genuinely good people that you would be friends with in the real world makes a huge difference in the wedding planning process. Just because a vendor looks perfect, doesn’t necessarily mean they’d be a good fit for you.

Our wedding favors were hand crafted chocolate gems from Elise Cakes. We had two different colors, a grey and white marble and a simple peachy pink. Each were individually decorated with gold flake on the top. Everyone loved them!

It’s easy to get lost with all the little details popping up here and there and wish it was all over at times. But take in all the hiccups and embrace them. It goes by way too quickly. So be present in the moment and hold on to it.

Elegant English Longleat Wedding with Plenty of Personal Touches

October 14, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Planning their countryside Longleat wedding all the way from Hong Kong presented a series of challenges, but Cheryl and Jonathan relied on their wonderful vendors to bring their elegantly styled vision to life. Wedding planner and Junebug member Matthew Oliver and his talented team created a theme that transported guests from the classic English garden day ceremony to a sleek, simple and modern evening reception. Florist White Lilac Flowers used an abundance of fresh white flowers to create truly incredible visual impact, from the oversized centerpieces, to the rose-filled fountain, to the huge ceiling floral installation. Ben Yew Photography captured the chic newlyweds exploring the manicured lawns and beautiful rolling landscapes of Longleat’s grounds. We love how the couple managed to slip a few personal details in with the elegance of their well-planned day, especially the T-Rex ice luge and tiny painted dinosaurs dotted all over the marquee, peeking out from the bar and in between flowers.

The Wedding:

Longleat Safari Park, Wiltshire, UK

Longleat is a magically beautiful place and it is just down the road from where Jon grew up. We didn’t want a venue that churned out weddings every weekend, and wanted a venue that truly captured the beauty of the English countryside. We also wanted to give our guests a wedding like no other.

We introduced more personality into our reception in three ways: Cheryl is a dinosaur nerd, we had a large T-Rex vodka ice luge, and mini painted dinosaur models dotted all over the marquee. Jon trades and invests in his spare time, so our table names were inspirational entrepreneurs and/or CEOs. And we created a ‘Tadd’ dollar which our guests could spend on a drink at the bar. Lastly, we both have an appreciation for a fantastic party, so had an extra long bar split into three sections to create a shot bar, G&T speciality bar and a normal bar.

The Orangery at Longleat is a beautiful old building with incredible amounts of natural light because of its floor to ceiling windows. We wanted the building to speak for itself and with the incredible gardens surrounding it, we kept the styling relatively simple, with just candles and a floral arch to frame the ceremony.

The theme was to take our guests on a journey – from natural, English countryside during the day to super sleek and modern for the evening. We wanted lots of white, lots of flowers and just beautiful, elegant styling. Our amazing design teams took all our ideas and thoughts, and turned them into a reality, including a huge floral ceiling installation and which was quite the feat!

From the very beginning we wanted simple, modern elegance to be represented in each of the locations throughout the day. Keeping it simple by using white and lots and lots of flowers to create a visual impact. We also chose to have a bespoke marquee to include space for dancing, dinner, a chill out area and outside decking.

Colorful DIY South African Wedding at Lunikhy Game Farm

October 13, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Robyn and Jeremy, a couple of adventurers who love the outdoors and nature fell in love with raw and vibrant Lunikhy Game Farm – the perfect venue for an outdoor ceremony full of natural beauty and a tranquil atmosphere. Floral design by Flower Child created the bride’s explosively bright bouquet and floral headband that inspired the color palette of the entire wedding. Navy blue, orange and copper with reds, yellows and greens echoed the rustic beauty of the South African landscape and every DIY’d detail created by the bridal party. Megan Ann Photography captured the couple exploring the bushveld by foot and safari jeep in a series of chill, fun and memorable post-wedding couple photos surrounded by wildlife and a breathtaking African sunset.

The Couple:

Robyn and Jeremy

The Wedding:

Lunikhy Game Farm, Bela-Bela, South Africa

Most important to us was that our wedding was a day filled with fun and special memories with our family and friends. We wanted our guests to have fun, feel relaxed and welcome. We wanted our wedding today to reflect us and our personalities.

It was the first venue we looked at, and following seeing other venues, we still loved Lunikhy best! We are both adventurers who love the outdoors and nature. Lunikhy captured us with its raw, natural beauty. We wanted an outdoor ceremony and really loved the enclosed boma area. It meant that those who didnt want to dance could relax outside under the stars and still be part of the atmosphere.

Basically our whole wedding was DIY. In hindsight…we may have taken a bit much on, but we really loved the process. We had great friends and family, that all pitched in and helped us out. Along the way, Robyn actually injured her hand, it was in a splint for 8 weeks and she couldnt do any of the diy. Her friends came round for a craft day and got a lot done. It was really an all hands on deck wedding!

We decided we wanted a colourful and bright wedding- we didnt want to use pastel colours (this just seemed a bit boring for us).  In the end we settled on navy blue, orange, and copper, with other colours weaving in – some yellows and greens. We brought in the colours in the flowers, bunting, hanging plants, and in the cushion covers for the plynths.

Megan managed to capture so many special moments…she was like a fly on the wall, we didnt even notice her around. Our criteria when looking for a photographer was someone who could capturebe the more natural and intimate moments, without having to keep “posing” and Megan did just that.
