Timeless Meets Contemporary in This Ebell Long Beach Wedding

October 26, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Jessell and Andrew’s classic Ebell Long Beach wedding is picture perfect with the timeless style and details. Jessell is as glamorous as ever in her Watters gown and long, loose curls thanks to Jackie Su Artistry. With her groom in a Calvin Klein navy suit, Jessell and Andrew perfectly encompass an elegant and classic look. Adding in some cultural traditions in their wedding ceremony, the two sweethearts truly made their wedding day unique and special to them. All of this goodness was captured by In Frames Photography and DP Weddings.

The Couple:

Jessell and Andrew

The Wedding:

Ebell Long Beach, Long Beach, California

We wanted something timeless and unique. Something that we can look back on 50 years later and say I loved that dress.

There were a lot of important aspects that we considered when planning our wedding. I believe that the ambiance would be the most significant. We were determined to create an atmosphere that was timeless and unique. We wanted our guests to feel elegant and have them escape from reality for the day.

I know it’s inevitable, but don’t stress yourself while planning your wedding. Enjoy and take in the moments you get to share with your fiance – spending time and making decisions together. Don’t worry about having the PERFECT wedding. If you invite people that you both love and choose vendors you can trust – everything will fall into place.

Definitely the character. I didn’t have to worry about hiding any part of the venue. ALL of the details were beautiful, from the bridal suite, to the ceremony space to the cocktail room. We choose decor that enhanced the venue, not hide it.

The most memorable part of the day would have to exchanging our vows. We incorporated meaningful Filipino/Spanish traditions into our ceremony and had the most amazing officiant who carried everything out seamlessly. There were lots of tears and a whole lot of love. I just felt it.

Our photographer, In Frames Photography, was AMAZING. She made us feel SO comfortable, confident, and BEAUTIFUL. It really shows in the photos. We didn’t feel awkward at all! I felt like we’ve known her for forever!

’70s Inspired Vancouver Wedding at The Permanent

October 25, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Coco and Dylan’s ’70s inspired wedding at The Permanent will have you transported back in time. This wedding’s style perfectly encompasses the laid back and funky vibes of the 1970s with the groomsmen in floral shirts, the bridesmaids in pants, and Coco in the most perfect flowy Union Bridal dress and intricate headpiece. Coco and Dylan managed to plan their wedding long distance with the help of family and friends. Everything came together beautifully, and all of the lovely details were captured by Hannah Martin Photography and RAW sound + film.

The Couple:

Coco and Dylan

The Wedding:

The Permanent, Vancouver, Canada

I am obsessed with my long sleeve silky gown with deep v neck, pockets, Swarovski crystal buttons that I found from Union Bridal, which is the Galina gown from Houghton NYC. The headpiece was everything when I tried it on, I can’t tell you how delicate and intricate it is. We have chosen white jumpsuits for the bridesmaids, cause it’s sooo 70s! White suit with floral shirts for groomsmen, playful yet classy. We want the whole bridal party to feel confident and look amazing.

It’s crazy since we didn’t have a wedding planner, and we currently live in Taiwan so we had to plan long distance. However, I am very specific about what I want, and what I like. So i decided to plan the whole wedding myself with my families’ support, in total it took us about 1 year to plan everything. Best advice to future brides to be: Start early, and know what you want.

Yes, we totally had a surprise! Our ring bearer actually dropped my ring when walking down the aisle, and the best man noticed it right away and told all the groomsmen and they told Dylan‘s sister, and then she found it on the aisle, then pass it all the way back to best man’s hands. All of this was going on during the ceremony, without me knowing.

We chose a venue space that embraced mine and Dylan’s love for the 70’s music from funk to disco and 70’s fashion elements combining with our personalities, which is casual and effortless.

Definitely Donna from Savoury City, our wedding menu was 100% tailored to us with our Italian and Asian flavours and it’s one of the kind. She was such a great pleasure to work with, always making sure the details are covered, she really went above and beyond to help us. Not to mention everything was delicious!

If I have to say the most memorable, it would be mine and Dylan’s first dance to More Than A Woman by Bee Gees.
