Effortless Urban Seattle Wedding at Axis Pioneer Square

April 7, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

When city-lovers Courtney and Patrick planned their wedding at Axis Pioneer Square in the heart of Seattle, they ditched the overly styled look and went with something truly authentic. Drawing inspiration from their version of an ideal Saturday, they took a stroll around the iconic square between wedding events, enjoyed cocktails at a local bar with their wedding party, and set up a dinner-party style reception that was all about relaxing with their loved ones. The fact that they did all of this while the bride wore a stunning Hayley Paige gown and the groom donned a tailored black suit from J. Crew made it even cooler! The planners from It’s All in the Details Seattle brought the couple’s laid-back vibes to life with crisp whites, gold accents, and natural greenery that stayed perfectly in line with the old-world feel of the venue. And the talented Olivia Strohm Photography captured the couple’s true essence as only she can, with creative angles and a touch of moodiness.

The Couple:

Courtney and Patrick

The Wedding:

Axis Pioneer Square, Seattle, Washington

From the beginning, we knew we couldn’t get married in a barn or on a beach. We’re city people, and we wanted to get married right in the heart of Seattle.

We wrote our own ceremony and vows to make sure our personalities and love for each other were evident. Our friend, who officiated our wedding, wrote a few sections of the ceremony where he described our relationship through his point of view. We didn’t get to read it before the ceremony and I’m glad we didn’t. It was beautiful.

We wanted a very cool, effortless, and dreamy vibe. We took the things we would typically do on a Saturday, like go to a cocktail bar and an art gallery, and elevated our look with a suit, wedding dress, and flowers. Our entire wedding was personalized with the things we love to do as a couple, and it made the experience more dear to our hearts. Nothing was over styled, so we were able to focus more on the love and energy around us.

This Gown Designer and Her Groom Tied the Knot at Casa Privata on the Amalfi Coast

April 6, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Between the olive groves, the lemon-inspired details, and the stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, this Amalfi Coast wedding at Casa Privata is as dreamy as they come! The ancient fishing village of Praiano is one of the most popular stops on this famous coastline, which should come as no surprise after you see this jaw-dropping shots captured by photographer Karin Lundin. After a secluded ceremony in the groves that looked like it was plucked right out of Mamma Mia, Malin and Ricard joined their guests under a canopy of hanging candles for a night of dancing, spoon games, and live music. The true showstoppers of the day, though, were the stunning appliquéd wedding gown and lavender lace bridesmaids dresses from By Malina, the bride’s personal fashion brand. Every detail of this Casa Privata wedding was infused with the romance and charm of Italy, and we simply can’t get enough!

The Couple:

Malin and Ricard

The Wedding:

Casa Privata, Praiano, Italy

We used to live in Italy when we first got together and got engaged in Puglis, so we were sure we wanted to get married in Italy. We looked at many places but have always loved Amalfi, Praiano, and Positano the most.

The garden ceremony was a true Mamma Mia moment. All our best friends, family, and our kids were gathered under olive threes in front of the Mediterranean Sea. It was such a magic moment for us!

I designed and created my own dress along with my company, By Malina. It took one month so sew all the leaves to the huge skirt. It’s not really me to have such a big dress but, since I’ll only get marry once, I figured why not! All my bridesmaids had lavender lace off-the-shoulder dresses, boho hair, and wreaths with flowers from the garden. It was all was very relaxed and beautiful.

Southwestern Glam Scottsdale Wedding at Desert Foothills

The desert vibes and glamorous details in this Desert Foothills wedding is the perfect fusion for laid-back couples who love an elevated look. Using a combination of succulents, antlers, cow hides, gold accents, and Atelier de LaFleur‘s eclectic floral designs, Imoni Events transformed the open desert and barn venue into the down-to-Earth wedding of Jessica and Nicolas’ dreams. Even though the bride rocked a totally glam Ines Di Santo gown and there were plenty of elegant details to add a sophisticated feel, there were also plenty of boho details and whimsical surprises — such as the beer donkey — to go around. Photographer Logan Cole and Everly Films totally outdid themselves in capturing every moment of this southwestern glam Arizona wedding!

The Couple:

Jessica and Nicolas

The Wedding:

Desert Foothills, Scottsdale, Arizona

Nick really wanted our wedding to be something different and Desert Foothills fit perfectly with our vision. To put it simply, the vibe was totally us. The barn is located on a huge ranch that feels remote but is actually only about 10 minutes from home. We just fell in love with the barn. It was a blank canvas, and we were able to create exactly the look and layout that we wanted. The ceremony site was beautiful and felt like we were getting married in the middle of the desert, surrounded by majestic saguaros. There are few things in life that are more beautiful than an Arizona sunset and the barn patio provided our guests with a view of the beautiful desert, amazing sunset, and live music.

We said our own vows, which I highly recommend. Our pastor encouraged us to take a moment to look around at everyone that was there supporting us. It was awesome to look out and see our guests’ smiling faces and reflect on how they have impacted different stages of our lives. We consider our siblings our oldest and dearest friends, so they stood behind us during our ceremony.

This was the biggest day of our life so we wanted it to be authentically us: laidback, fun, and down to Earth. It was most important for us to enjoy every second of this fleeting day and for our guests to feel uniquely important and an intricate part of our wedding. Nick and I have a deep love for each other, our friends, and our family. We wanted our ceremony to have purpose and be powerful, a message filled with faith and for our love for each other to be palpable. We also wanted the whole weekend and our reception to be a blast, an unforgettable party filled with great food and drinks, endless dancing, and fun!

I can honestly say that I enjoyed the entire planning process! My mom and I worked tirelessly on all the details and tying the theme together, and I couldn’t be more grateful for all the laughs we shared during the months leading up to the big day. We decided to “let go” the Monday before the wedding and enjoy the week with our friends and family. The day of, Nick and I both had the most wonderful and relaxing morning with our friends. Both of us were so calm that day and I really believe that made us able to soak it all in. . . see everyone that was there, see all the details, and enjoy all the feelings.

Everything was so natural with Logan Cole and he has an incredible eye. Nothing ever felt posed or forced, which was great because we just were able to be ourselves and he was able to capture some of the most intimate moments. He captured our love and our joy better than I could have ever imagined.

We absolutely love the sunset photos that he took. The sunset was beautiful and it was just us out in the middle of the desert and could faintly hear the guitarist playing and the laughter of cocktail hour. The photos are works of art and they capture our joy and laughter perfectly.
