Impossibly Romantic Mount Rainier National Park Elopement

November 20, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Grab the tissues, because this Mount Rainier National Park elopement is the sweetest thing! One of our very own Junebug members, Amber Phinisee, promised forever to her handsome groom, Tyler, in the forest with their three dogs as witnesses. These two were up for the ultimate adventure from driving across the country from Georgia and spending their entire wedding day outside – from getting ready to exploring Mount Rainier National Park until sunset. We are obsessed with Amber’s overgrown bouquet from Westerwisp and how whimsical and ethereal it is. Love Stories Co photographed and adventured alongside Amber and Tyler the entire day and we can’t get enough of the resulting images!

The Couple:

Amber and Tyler

The Wedding:

Mount Rainier National Park, Seattle, Washington

Patience of Intensify by Patience is my sister so it meant the most to have her in Washington with us and to be my makeup artist. We chose to go with a soft romantic look to compliment my bridal look and it was perfect. She made me look and feel like the most beautiful bride in the world. Also, my makeup remained flawless the entire day even after crying during my ceremony. She is truly the best!

When Tyler and I planned our elopement in Seattle we wanted it to be our greatest and most memorable adventure together of becoming one. It was a must to have our three sweet pups there with us so we decided to drive 40+ hours cross country from Georgia instead of flying just so that we could have Ellie, Summer, and Finn be a part of our day. Tyler and I wanted the location of our elopement to have stunning views and different than what we’re used to seeing in the south eastern coast. We had always talked about traveling to Seattle because of how beautiful it was so we decided to go for it even though we had never been!

We had never been to Washington, so the day before our elopement we traveled to Mount Rainier National Park with our closest family and friends to find the perfect location.

The most memorable part of our day was our ceremony in Mount Rainier National Park. The ceremony took place in an intimate setting in the woods with a serene breeze and golden sun peaking through the tall trees. God gave us the most perfect day. Tyler and I chose to write our own vows andwait until the ceremony to see each other. Our hearts were full of so much anticipation and joy as time lead to our ceremony. When the moment finally came, it was absolutely magical. Our joy was indescribable. Tyler was the first to read his vows and I will never forget the emotion that filled our eyes when he started with saying that he had a dream of this exact moment before. We shared so many tears and laughs together as we exchanged our vows. It was everything we could’ve possibly dreamed of and so much more.

Tyler surprised me a guitarist for our ceremony and first dance. He also surprised me tickets to Germany for our honeymoon!

It was incredible having Halie and Alec with us in Washington for our day! We could not have asked for more perfect photographers. They made us feel so comfortable and at ease throughout the entire day. We are forever grateful for their wonderful friendship and all the beautiful moments they captured for us.

The best advice that we can give to newly engaged couples is to have the wedding of your dreams and make the most of it. If you want to elope or have a small or big wedding in an epic location then do it! The wedding day should be about what you both want, not what everyone else wants.

This Colorful Villa at the Sanctuary Bali Wedding is a Magically Tropical Wonderland

November 20, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Nashira and Kevin’s Villa at the Sanctuary Bali wedding will make all of your floral dreams come true. Playing off of Bali’s lush land, they chose to cover their ceremony and reception space with perfect blooms for Flora Botanica Designs, and they added many tropical and colorful elements into their wedding decor for a romantic and fun vibe to their day. Making all of this a possibility, Kira from Hitch’d Wedding and Events  was working behind the scenes to turn Nashira and Kevin’s ideas into a tropical fairy tale. Photographer Terralogical and videographer Alma Photography worked side-by-side to capture all of the gorgeous details and sweet love in Nashira and Kevin’s Bali destination wedding.

The Couple:

Nashira and Kevin

The Wedding:

The Sanctuary, Bali, Indonesia

I designed and made our wedding invitations myself. It was one of the only creative things I could do myself so I really went full force and put my all into them. My goal was to make something people wouldn’t want to throw out. It was so exciting to get feedback from our guests about our invitations. We got so many phone calls and texts and its fun to see them displayed when we visit our friends and families homes.

I had what you can call an unusual wedding planning experience. Our wedding planner, Kira, from Hitch’d really did help so much, I didn’t have to fret over the small details. I just told her what I wanted and it magically appeared. The only things I stressed about were the logistics. I acted as a travel agent for the wedding trip and coordinated a group flight, accommodations and everything else for our guests. My advise would be to find a really great agent that’s willing to work one on one with each guest if you are having a destination wedding. I didn’t have luck finding one so I took matters into my own hands. I did love the experience though, and helping people & giving recommendations was really fun for me.

I just love the mood captured in the photos – they were romantic, a little mysterious, and just beautiful! Govinda from Terralogical did such an amazing job. BUT if I had to pick, there’s a photo that he captured of us sharing our first kiss from behind the pergola and you could see all of the lush greenery and pretty colorful flowers and our guests are cheering us on- I LOVE that one.

What color didn’t I choose for the wedding, haha! I was inspired by the luscious greenery from our venue, but also the tropics of Bali. I had lots of green with pops of pinks, purples, white, orange and a little yellow. I love color and always wanted a fun and colorful wedding.

We were in Bali looking at different venues and the owners of The Sanctuary reached out and asked if their driver could pick us up and bring us to the venue for them to show us around. We didn’t have anything else planned on that particular day so we figured why not? When we arrived, our mouths just dropped. It’s nothing that a photograph can capture. We literally got goosebumps. It was having our own little jungle. None of the venues won us over after our visit to The Sanctuary. The best part was that 26 of our family and friends were able to stay on the property with us during our wedding week. The staff was unbelievably hospitable and made that week just unforgettable.

The most important thing to us was for our loved ones to be able to make it to our wedding. We know we weren’t asking for a small favor when we asked everyone to travel 10,000 miles to Bali!

So my husband and his guys choreographed a surprise dance for me to a mix of “Jump on It” and Despacito” which was HILARIOUS and so, so good. I’m still not really sure how they pulled it off. As if that wasn’t amazing enough, my bridal party also surprised us with a dramatic and hilarious dance to “Downtown” by Macklemore.

The day as a whole was just perfect – from a morning meditation session with my bridal party, shedding massive tears while getting ready, walking down the aisle with my dad, hearing Kevin‘s vows for me, the maid of honor and best man speeches, the surprise dances, the water drums, the fireworks… I mean…it was all a dream.

Tropical Meets Traditional Western Cape Wedding at Glenbrae

After moving to New Zealand from South Africa eight months before their wedding, Monique and George relied on the support of their families, fantastic vendors, and the understated elegance of their venue Glenbrae to create a beautiful and unique setting perfect for a social celebration planned from several thousand miles away. The indoor-outdoor space offered a stunningly peaceful forest ceremony, spectacular vineyard views, and fashionable reception space. Décor designed by Saffron Events featured a timelessly chic theme, tropical greenery and exotic florals combined with classic formal elements and accented with rose gold. We love the geometric-inspired candleholders, hanging macramé, and palm branches that created an incredibly inspiring space that perfectly complimented the bridesmaids’ gorgeous tropical printed dresses. Yeah Yeah Photography captured the fab décor, but even more beautiful were the quiet moments of the sweet couple enjoying their time with family and friends.

The Couple:

Monique and George

The Wedding:

Glenbrae, Western Cape, South Africa

I tried on a couple amazing dresses but still had my idea of what I wanted to look like. She understood my vision and was willing to cut one of her dresses in two to create my dream wedding dress. I honestly felt so beautiful on the day as I absolutely loved my dress and makeup which was done by my godmother. For my bridesmaids I wanted to incorporate the tropical theme but they also had to go with the my husband to be and his groomsmen who wore olive green andnavy.

For us the most important part of planning our wedding was to find a beautiful wedding venue that would allow us to invite all our friends and family as we moved to New Zealand from South Africa 8 months before our wedding. We wanted the venue to be both beautiful and unique but also give the opportunity for our guests and us to talk to each other or to dance the night away.

We wanted something unique that had a social feel to it, we also liked the venue as it had a great indoor outdoor flow with beautiful views from the veranda. The venue is set in the Apple valley of Elgin just outside of Cape Town with the most spectacular views over orchards and vineyards.

The day was so amazing and exceeded all my expectations in every possible way, but I think what stood out from the day was that I knew I was getting married to my best friend and love of my love andcouldn`t wait to see him and to be married. We had the best day overall and got to dance and spend time with all the people we love.

My engagement ring is rose gold so I wanted to incorporate it into our day. I know I wanted to have a lot of greenery for my flowers and therefor made green another main color. I thought white would compliment them andtherefore our colors for the wedding was rose gold, green and white.

I wanted to choose a theme/style that was trendy but also something that I would look back in a couple of years and still think looked amazing. As I knew I wanted greenery as my main flower inspo we leaned toward a tropical feel but combined it with a lot of classic elements by combining it with a more formal color like rose gold. The amazing team form Saffron Functions exceeded my decor expectations in every way.
