This Evergreen PDX Wedding Has the Prettiest Autumnal Floral Details

Between the DIY floral hoop ceremony backdrop, the vintage records and books, and the autumnal color palette, we’re swooning over Kaiya and Aaron’s Evergreen PDX wedding. The couple, who love all things vintage and timeless, opted for a more muted take autumnal colors and added pops of gold and deep red for a simple yet dramatic touch of elegance. With the help of their planner, Ella Events, and the florists at Brier + Ivy, they created the coziest vibe inside the modern, downtown space. Their decor included a large floral hoop that doubled as the ceremony backdrop and the sweetheart table backdrop, lounge seating areas featuring antique accents, up-cycled windows used as signs, and a special photo board to honor the couple’s late grandparents. Photographer Nicole Mason did a phenomenal job photographing this lovely Portland wedding.

I wanted to incorporate the vintage and timeless style with my dress choice, so I did lace and long sleeves. I knew I wanted lace sleeves! The necklace of the dress was the right amount of revealing, while the sleeves helped keep me warm while we took photos outside. I loved how feminine and beautiful I felt. My mom gave me a part of her wedding veil to use, and I tucked it into the most lovely flower crown made by our florist.

Our big project was the circle we got married in front of! Aaron and I spent many hours making that vision come to life. We bought four pipes and had to bend them into semi-circles, connect them, stabilize them onto a platform, and spray paint the whole thing matte black!

We both enjoy film photography, old movies, books, and listening to vinyl records so having a vintage feel made sense. Our key words were vintage, floral, and fall, since it was a November wedding. I didn’t want the colors to be too moody and dark, but the touches of gold, forest green, and mustard yellow helped with the autumn vibe.

’70s Inspired Greenhouse Wedding at the Ed Lycan Conservatory

Abigail and Dillon’s wedding at the Ed Lycan Conservatory in Oklahoma City was just the prettiest blast from the past! Using a combination of vintage decor pieces and vintage attire, which included the bride’s yellow and green lace frock, the bridesmaids’ burgundy crushed velvet dresses, and the groomsmen’s mismatched suspenders and vests, the couple put together a display of eye-catching details that made us feel like we hopped back to the best of the ’70s era. The Victorian conservatory had the perfect balance of earthiness and charm to serve as the backdrop, offering the guests the comforts of an indoor wedding while giving them a perfect view of the outdoor beauty. Payton Marie Photography did it again, capturing every inch with intense attention to detail and every moment with the tenderness and grace that showcased Abigail and Dillon’s sincere love and light.

The first look literally took my breath away. We hugged and kissed and embraced the fact that we were really getting married. We hadn’t seen each other all day, so it felt like an epic reunion. Seeing him at that point instantly calmed my nerves.

I loved being surrounded by all of the plant life and greenery in the venue. It was such an open, airy space that had a great history. It is a restored Victorian-era conservatory that houses a succulent garden and year-round tropical plants.

We are inspired by all things vintage. We wanted everything to feel comfortable yet quirky. We were attracted to the aesthetic of the ’70s and decided to draw inspiration from that era. Almost every item came from a thrift or antique store. We scoured flea markets and garage sales to find unique, vintage items. My dad also built a stand for the macrame backdrop at the altar of the ceremony. He has since re-purposed that wood in the form of a farmhouse table. My aunts and cousins even created the garlands that were featured on some of tables, as well as the macrame backdrop.

Effortless Urban Seattle Wedding at Axis Pioneer Square

When city-lovers Courtney and Patrick planned their wedding at Axis Pioneer Square in the heart of Seattle, they ditched the overly styled look and went with something truly authentic. Drawing inspiration from their version of an ideal Saturday, they took a stroll around the iconic square between wedding events, enjoyed cocktails at a local bar with their wedding party, and set up a dinner-party style reception that was all about relaxing with their loved ones. The fact that they did all of this while the bride wore a stunning Hayley Paige gown and the groom donned a tailored black suit from J. Crew made it even cooler! The planners from It’s All in the Details Seattle brought the couple’s laid-back vibes to life with crisp whites, gold accents, and natural greenery that stayed perfectly in line with the old-world feel of the venue. And the talented Olivia Strohm Photography captured the couple’s true essence as only she can, with creative angles and a touch of moodiness.

Axis Pioneer Square, Seattle, Washington

From the beginning, we knew we couldn’t get married in a barn or on a beach. We’re city people, and we wanted to get married right in the heart of Seattle.

We wrote our own ceremony and vows to make sure our personalities and love for each other were evident. Our friend, who officiated our wedding, wrote a few sections of the ceremony where he described our relationship through his point of view. We didn’t get to read it before the ceremony and I’m glad we didn’t. It was beautiful. 

We wanted a very cool, effortless, and dreamy vibe. We took the things we would typically do on a Saturday, like go to a cocktail bar and an art gallery, and elevated our look with a suit, wedding dress, and flowers. Our entire wedding was personalized with the things we love to do as a couple, and it made the experience more dear to our hearts. Nothing was over styled, so we were able to focus more on the love and energy around us.
