Moroccan Inspired Palm Springs Wedding at Casa Cody

January 2, 2018 | colleen

Paulina and Ryan’s wedding at Casa Cody has major Moroccan and tropical vibes. With macramé and fringe details throughout the wedding (and we’re talking about even the Hey There, Cupcake wedding cake), there’s a bit of Moroccan influence no matter where you look. The brightly colored florals by Pink Pineapple Florals add a bold flair to the wedding decor. We are loving the bright pink blooms next to the bridesmaids emerald green dresses and lush greenery details throughout the ceremony and reception space. Eden Strader Photography killed it and perfectly captured Paulina and Ryan’s Palm Springs wedding!

The Couple:

Paulina and Ryan

The Wedding:

Casa Cody, Palm Springs, California

After trying on so many gorgeous wedding dresses and not finding one that had all elements I loved, I decided on designing it myself and a close family friend made it. I loved the dreamy bell sleeves, the lace detail, long train, and that I could just slip right into it and move around so easily. I also had a custom jeweled headpiece made and wore that along with a long simple veil that was passed down from my older sister. My shoes were Rachel Zoe, with the prettiest detailed bohemian embroidery. All the guys wore classic black suits, white shirts, and accessorized with camel colored belts and shoes. My bridesmaids wore dark emerald green, sleek, long dresses, and my matrons of honor wore terra cotta detailed, sheer sleeved short dress. All accessorized with delicate gold head chains.

With so many beautiful wedding styles and ideas out, it can sometimes be overwhelming. As long as you keep the vision you have for your day in mind its easier for everything to fall into place from there.

The whole weekend was one we won’t ever forget. It started with our pool party rehearsal the day before, with perfect weather. We woke up Saturday to a light drizzle and never expected a full blown flash flood thunderstorm 30 minutes before the ceremony, in Palm Springs, in September. While for about an hour, it was total chaos and we started to think we were going to need to swim down the aisle, the rain subsided and we began the ceremony. While reciting our vows, the sun peaked through the clouds and our guests all started to cheer. The storm surprisingly, added the sweetest touch to our day. The energy from all of our family and friends, after we overcame the storm, was what helped make our day so memorable.

Mine and my sister’s event styling business, Spell Bundle, was key in my wedding planning process as well as styling the entire day. Also, Carina with Tealight Events made sure everything ran smoothly and she was the absolute sweetest to work alongside and with.

While planning our wedding it was super important to us that our day reflect who we are as a couple and who we are individually. We wanted our day to be about our love for each other, but also our love for our guests. We wanted them to feel the love we have for each of them as they have all contributed to our life together the last decade. We wanted them to come, eat tacos, sip delicious cocktails, each churros, enjoy a fresh rolled cigar, take photos in the rad 71 VW bus, and DANCE!
