Cozy up with a mug of hot cocoa and settle into this breathtaking winter wedding inspiration. As this styled shoot shows, winter weddings are the perfect time to use classic pops of color to create contrast against the dark winter landscape. We love the use of pomegranates — a totally trending fruit for table decor — to tie together the vibrant red in the bride’s bouquet. Photographer Kymberlie Dozois beautifully captured the essence of Sarah Alexandra‘s impeccable event design. Here’s a few words from Sarah about the inspiration behind the shoot:
“When creating the design for the shoot, the bare limbs of Canada’s wintery trees gave me the inspiration for an arcane, mysterious shoot. I envisioned the use of darker hues like deep plum, cranberry and mustard with a woodsy feel, while still keeping an intimate and romantic feeling. I’ve always been partial to copper and brass and I love how it lit up the rest of the palette. It was quite important for me to find a real couple for the session, as real chemistry and intimacy is hard to mimic. Ashley & Greg got married last summer and I loved every second of working with them. It felt so authentic, and it shows through in the images. Many of the artists involved in this shoot are quite new to the business, myself included; I loved giving others a platform to showcase their talent! With this shoot, I hope to inspire readers to go for the unexpected and make great discoveries.”
