Next up are the whimsical custom ribbon creations of Chapeau de Gateau. These intricate wedding cake toppers are made by Toronto artist Alison Dawson out of beautiful Mokuba ribbon from Japan. I’m amazed at her ability to emulate the textures and detail of cake frosting with fabric, and I adore the addition of your name and wedding date on the bottom of each special piece. So sweet! I like classic styles, so I love the elegant toppers from Chapeau de Gateau, but I think it would be really fun to make the Goose Grease toppers for us and all the members of our family. Great ideas!

These ideas are wonderfully innovative. I wasn’t aware that you could use cake toppers other than a mini-bride-and-groom doll. But these ribbon toppers from Chapeau de Gateau are absolutely exquisite. I like that the ribbons match the design of the cake. Very elegant. The wooden dolls, on the other hand, are very cute. Perfect for quirky couples.
