Romantic Eucalyptus-Inspired Santorini Wedding at Venetsanos Winery

July 13, 2018 | juliette

Hannah and Tareq embraced the laid-back and rustic Santorini vibes for their wedding at Venetsanos Winery. The couple, who hail from the Isle of Man and Jordan, wanted their wedding to be more than a party: they wanted it to be an authentic representation of their cultures and their love for the people who traveled to be with them. So they and their planner from Sand + Lace put together a romantic eucalyptus-inspired wedding with an impeccable view of the caldera that was minimal with hints of bohemian, rustic, and whimsical styles. Betty Flowers Santorini created eucalyptus table runners and plate decor, as well as eucalyptus crowns for the bride and her girls, that made the al fresco reception feel carefree yet elegant. We love that Hannah chose a modern, sexy Grace Loves Lace gown and Tareq opted for a relaxed Massimo Dutti suit looked modern but had a laid-back feel. From the views over the island to the fireworks at the end of the reception, PaulinaWeddings captured every breathtaking moment of this Santorini wedding!

The Couple:

Hannah and Tareq

The Wedding:

Venetsanos Winery, Santorini, Greece

We knew we wanted to have an intimate, romantic wedding with only a small gathering of family and friends. We wanted it to have a more personal feel, bringing both of our cultures together without feeling overwhelmed. We ultimately wanted it to be about love and not just a party.

The most memorable parts of the day would be having my mum there during preparations and walking me down the aisle. We also loved the heartfelt speeches our family and friends gave!

If you are a perfectionist like me, I highly suggest hiring a wedding planner to relieve some of the pressure from you during the planning process and on your wedding day. They can also recommend suppliers and bring fresh ideas to the table. Also, live music is a must! Michalis Karamolegos was amazing; everyone loved him!

For our guests, we made personalized brown bags with 3 gifts that represented us and where we had the wedding. To represent me, we gave handmade Isle of Man Manx tartan hearts (made by my cousin). To represent Tareq, we gave dead sea salt from Jordan in small glass bottles (made by Tareq’s sister). To represent us and our wedding, we gave small bottles of local Ouzo (made by our wedding planner).
