Utterly Serene Olympic Mountains Elopement at Sunset

March 12, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Noelle and Braden’s Olympic Mountains elopement is as picture perfect as can be. Noelle’s classic and boho Rue De Seine wedding dress is an absolute dream, especially next to her bridesmaids wearing mismatched Free People and Anthropologie dresses. The care-free, simple vibe is so evident and it allows for Noelle and Braden’s fun love to shine through. These two invited Jordan Voth to join them in photographing their elopement, and we can see why! We are loving the images that Jordan photographed of these two lovebirds in the vibrant, orange sunset.

All we wanted was to exchange our vows privately in a wild place that meant something to us surrounded by a handful of people that meant even more to us.

My biggest advice is to do what feels right to you as a couple. A wedding should be about celebrating your love and nothing more. Decide what’s really important to you and stick with it.

We both grew up on the Olympic Peninsula so the Olympic mountains feel like home to us. The specific spot we chose feels so wild but its also easily accessible and only one hour from our house. It’s the most perfect place to watch a sunset and experience almost complete silence.

Jordan is amazing to work with! One of our favorite things about him is how easy-going he is. He’s just an all around pleasant person and very comfortable to be around which is SO important when choosing a photographer. Obviously, he’s crazy talented, too!

The whole experience was so memorable but a few things stand out. I (Noelle) loved stopping on the side of the road and picking wildflowers for our bouquets! I also loved looking around during our ceremony and seeing tears in all of our friends’ eyes. So beautiful and special! We also were given the most breathtaking sunset. The light was a spectacular orange and everything was glowing. So perfect!

Our ceremony location was breathtaking on it’s own so we wanted out outfits to be very simple. We both love the natural beauty of nature so that was our inspiration for the overall feel.

You’ll Love This Stylish Couple’s Handmade Wedding at Gooseberry Falls State Park

March 12, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Abigail and David’s DIY wedding at Gooseberry Falls has some major camp vibes. Abigail wore a gorgeous Linyage wedding dress and David rocked a red suit from Atmosfere MPlS. Abigail and David’s stylish and vintage look translated to their wedding decor with film cameras and printed photos. Rustically Modern ties the overall vibe together with their unique pieces, especially those ceremony chairs! J Olson Weddings photographed the spectacular day full of unique details and big love!

The Couple:

Abigail and David

The Wedding:

Gooseberry Falls State Park, Two Harbours, Minnesota

We wanted our wedding to be completely us. It was important to keep it small and personal. I think the most important thing to us was having it extended over the whole weekend. Just one day goes by too quickly!

In the end, it is your wedding. You should make it what you want. Of course your family and friends are your guests and you want them to be happy, but don’t feel pressured to do/have all sorts of things that may not be necessary. On the day of the wedding, have a good outline of what needs to happen, but be flexible. Things don’t always work out perfectly and that’s okay!

Gooseberry Falls is a very special place for us. We chose it because that is where we first went camping together and where we first said we loved each other. It’s our favorite place in Minnesota.

Our dear friend Josh Olson was our photographer – he couldn’t have done a better job. It was important to us to have someone we were comfortable with and that we could fully trust to capture the entirety of our weekend. David has worked with Josh shooting weddings together and knew that he would be the best person for the job. It was also really important for us to have someone that could shoot on film, which Josh regularly incorporates into his process.

We didn’t have any bridal party, mostly because we don’t feel the need to incorporate all the traditions and social pressure of a “normal” wedding. If we had a bridal party, there would be no one to attend the wedding! The processional was just David, our dog Grady the ring bearer, my father and me.

We have always been lovers of the outdoors and the MN North Shore and of course our wedding had to be similar! We chose to have things like bistro lights, a canvas bell tent, and lots and lots of flowers to meld the forrest with classic charm.

David and I have a photo series we have been doing on our travels – each taking a photo of the other person at the same time. This might just be my favorite set of the series!

We both had a photo book done for each other, with the other knowing. Mine was a boudoir shoot, and David’s was all of our favorite photos from travels and special days. He also gave me a camera!

I made my own cake: maple fig cream cheese and spiced pecan layered cake!

This Creative Blanc Denver Wedding Shows Why Everyone Loves Indoor/Outdoor Weddings

March 11, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

If you can’t decide between an indoor or outdoor wedding, let Molly and Kyle’s Blanc Denver wedding inspire you to have the best of both worlds! The couple began their day with a cozy ceremony in the venue’s outdoor pavilion that featured a stunning floral wreath backdrop created by Lace & Lilies. Then they and their guests moved into the industrial space for a reception that combined both a rustic charm and a natural minimalism thanks to the brilliant styling of Calluna Events. Every element made this wedding feel like a spring garden party, and we love that the floral design was one of the key elements in tying together both the indoor and outdoor spaces. Photographer Cassie Rosch captured a beautiful mix of soft, intimate feelings during both the first look and ceremony and a modern, edgy vibe in the couple portraits in the reception space. The combination of styles not only echoed the flow of the wedding day but made for a dynamic visual story that we’re still gushing over!

The Couple:

Molly and Kyle

The Wedding:

Blanc Denver, Colorado

Our first look will always standout to me. That was one of the few moments of the day that we were truly just focused on one another. It was so intimate and gave both of us a sense of peace heading into the ceremony and reception.

From the moment we were introduced to Lace & Lilies, they were true partners in planning. They helped cultivate ideas, design new pieces that they had never done before, and did it all with ease and a smile. The florals at our wedding were so critical for the overall aesthetic and we couldn’t have been more impressed with how they delivered. We so appreciated their time, vision, and attention to detail. These women were rockstars all the way around.

Your wedding day is one day, so you better find a damn good photographer that will capture everything you want. Because when it is all said and done, the photos are the only thing left to relive that period in time. I feel we hit the jackpot with Cassie Rosch. Her keen photography style, calming presence, and positivity radiate through her and are reflected in the photos she takes. We felt as if Cassie was an extended part of our family, she was so compatible with us and our wedding party, we couldn’t be more grateful that she agreed to work with us.

Gabbie with Calluna Events was nothing short of spectacular. She worked day and night to exceed our expectations and we couldn’t have been more relieved and proud to be working with her. Our family, bridal party and wedding vendors all made comments about how effortless our wedding day was due to the exceptional level of detail and planning that Gabbie put forth. There is nothing we would change, our investment in Calluna Events repaid us with peace of mind tenfold.
