Unbelievably Romantic Botanical Garden Wedding at Eolia Mansion

October 16, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Melissa and Coury’s fairytale wedding at Eolia Mansion was timeless and elegant and featured the softest and dreamiest color palette. Their first look and ceremony were both set in the estate’s gardens, which were overflowing with lush foliage and pretty blooms to create a secret garden vibe that set the tone for a romantic day. Drawing on that natural beauty, Ashleigh’s Garden created bouquets and centerpieces in white and green hues that added a soft elegance and a minimalist feel to the decor. The bride, who glowed in a Sarah Seven ballgown, also put her artistic skills to use in creating all of the paper goods for the event. From the first look to golden-hour beach photos, this Connecticut wedding was as romantic as could be and Corey Lynn Tucker Photography captured it in stunning fashion!

The Couple:

Melissa and Coury

The Wedding:

Eolia Mansion, Waterford, Connecticut

We both felt very strongly about writing and sharing our own vows. We wanted to be able to put our own personal touch on the ceremony and share the story of our lives together thus far and the moments we look forward to sharing together in the future.

I’ve always enjoyed drawing + painting and worked as an illustrator for a few years so, naturally, I looked forward to creating our save the dates, invitations, menu cards, seating charts and other printed material for the day of. I illustrated and painted a few floral pieces inspired by the gorgeous botanical gardens at Eolia. For a soft palette, I worked in watercolor, specifically blushes and greens. I then laid out the designs and text in Illustrator and worked with a local printer to bring my vision to life!

This Tropical Bohemian Prospect House Wedding is What Floral Dreams are Made Of

October 15, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Katie and Ethan added a tropical twist to their Prospect House wedding venue in the Texas hill country and, needless to say, it’s exactly what we needed today! Merveille Floral & Design went above and beyond in creating a tropical flower-covered wall, hanging leaf installations, and a textural bridal bouquet that looked almost too pretty to be real. The planners of Bride’s Best Friend made the entire day feel like a destination wedding in Cabo, but the distinct modern and rustic touches that added hints of Texas charm. We love that Katie channeled a beachy boho vibe with a lace, off-the-shoulder Jane Hill gown, and minimal accessories, while Ethan went for a classic Bonobos suit and vibrant tie. Everything about this Texas wedding was perfectly boho, tropical, and modern, and Jacy Hermes Photography captured it all with an impeccable attention to detail!

The Couple:

Katie and Ethan

The Wedding:

Prospect House, Dripping Springs, Texas

We wanted more of a contemporary tropical vibe because, at first, we were thinking about getting married in Cabo. We ended up wanting to get married in our home state and use Cabo as a inspiration for decor.

Knowing I wanted to incorporate more of a tropical theme, my eyes went to the dresses that were boho/traditional. I love lace but didn’t want the more traditional lace dresses. I felt like the dress I choose had a more modern lace design. I ended up adding armbands out of the same lace and that was probably my favorite part. They were detachable so I took them off during the dancing portion of the night. I also wore my dream shoes, which are the Valentino Garavani Rockstuds in nude.

The first thing that Ethan and I said when we started wedding planning was we wanted everyone to feel comfortable and have a blast! A venue that didn’t feel stuffy was huge for us. We also wanted delicious food and fun music.

Our ceremony was extremely special to us. Texas summers are hot, but we still wanted to have our ceremony outside. The weather seriously could not have been nicer! The wind picked up right when I started walking down the aisle with my dad, which brought cooler weather but also a spiritual feel. Ethan‘s dad — whom we dearly love and respect — was our officiant. He blessed us with tender and loving words from his heart and from the Bible. Having him as our officiant was a huge part of our ceremony. We also wanted to include our friends in the ceremony, so I had two lifelong friends read scripture that was special to them in their marriages.

We had the best time working with our photographer, Jacy, and her husband Dakota. They gave great direction but were so chill and very swift while taking wedding party pictures, which really appreciated. The thing that we keep on telling people months after our wedding is how much we enjoyed working with our photographer. I knew in the first few minutes in talking to Jacy I needed her as our wedding photographer. I’m so grateful it worked out!

Boho Glam Phoenix Wedding at The Croft Downtown with a Cozy Twist

October 14, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Brooke and Steven are giving us all the cozy boho vibes in their Phoenix wedding at The Croft Downtown. From the bride’s long-sleeve lace dress from Dreamers & Lovers to the handmade macrame sweetheart backdrop from Woven by Ro to the vintage glam décor accents, every inch of this wedding was a boho-chic dream come true. Angelic Grove helped the couple set the stage for a truly romantic celebration with loads of ambient candlelight and stunning florals that ranged from moody reds to soft pinks. Olivia Markle Photography and Kayla Esparza nailed it in capturing this dreamy downtown wedding!

The Couple:

Brooke and Steven

The Wedding:

The Croft Downtown, Phoenix, Arizona

The absolute most important thing for us was creating an atmosphere where our guests felt comfortable, loved, appreciated and cherished. We wanted everyone in the room to know that we love them so dearly and they all played an integral part in our relationship. With every big decision that we made, we always asked ourselves, “Will this make our friends and family feel loved?” If it did, it was an immediate green light to commit!

We were definitely going for a moody bohemian feel with our style! I’ve always been a huge fan of Dreamers & Loversand fantasized about wearing one of their dresses on my wedding day. So, my dress was a literal dream come true! I love how it was the perfect combination of long-sleeve, unique lace, and open back (with mesh). Also, it was dance-floor friendly, which was a huge necessity. I basically drooled the second I laid eyes on it!

As soon as the ceremony began and Steven walked down the aisle, our guests started cheering like crazy! The entire room was roaring for all of the bridal party as they entered the room — it seriously sounded like a concert was going on, and I loved every second of it. It was the most incredible moment of realizing what a celebration our wedding day was and how wild our love is!

I’d like to take this moment and quote the cheesiest home decor piece that everyone knows: “Live, Laugh, Love.” Don’t forget to live in the moment, laugh like there’s no tomorrow, and love the heck out of each other!

We had an amazing macrame arch (made by Woven by Ro) that was placed behind us during the reception. Knowing that this macrame arch was a special piece, Steven reached out to Robyn and had her make a custom macrame piece to hang in our first home together, as a constant reminder of our big day.
