Lili and Tomas’ Vizcaya Museum & Gardens wedding was an ethereal, European-inspired dream come to life right in the heart of Miami! The couple and their brilliant planner from The Creative’s Loft used every inch of the lush French and Italian style gardens and even brought that garden feel inside the reception tent with hanging greenery and tons of roses, all designed by Primrose Floral & Event Design. The bride looked like a modern princess in a Schone Bride ballgown, which featured a textured skirt and pockets, and an intricate gold tiara from M de Paulet. It’s hard to pick a favorite moment or detail from this beautiful celebration captured by Pablo Laguia, but we must admit that the couple’s private first dance on the terrace is definitely at the top of the list!

There were many memorable moments throughout the day, from walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Tomas looking at me to my mom’s speech to seeing my friends that came all the way from the Canary Islands to be with us! But there was one moment before getting ready I’ll never forget. My friends, mom, godmother, and makeup/hair stylists were all over my house. I went to take a shower and closed the door; it was such a tranquil moment. I said to myself, “Okay, Lili, today is the day! This is the quiet moment you are going to have today. Now is the moment to miss people that aren’t here, to be nervous, to cry it out. So, cry.” Nothing happened! Instead, I started to laugh very hard; I have never felt so happy before.
My only advice to anybody planning their wedding would be to hire The Creatives Loft and enjoy the ride knowing you are in the hands of the most talented, passionate, and fantastic planning team on Earth. Also…relax!
Our processional and recessional songs were the same. It was a song called “Brindo” by Devendra Banhart. Brindo means “toast” in Spanish, and one of the best lines from that song is: “A toast to all that I want to give / To everything that is about to begin.”
Vizcaya Museum & Gardens had all we were looking for in a venue: vegetation and history. It’s a building that has seen every transformation that the city of Miami has seen but has remained through it all — unalterable, solid, intact, and always beautiful.
Working with Adriana, owner and founder of The Creative’s Loft, we decided to bring the garden of Vizcaya inside the reception space. The idea was to create a romantic, a bohemian, and elegant secret garden. Primrose Floral & Event Design did a jaw-dropping job bringing the vision to life!
A Cuban trio sang our first dance song! They made a special version of a Spanish song for us, and it’s about a woman that falls in love with a baker — which is precisely the story of Tomas and me. We own a little bakery in Miami Beach called True Loaf Bakery.
