This Intimate Wedding Inspiration at Frickley Lake is Pure Coziness

February 23, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Intimate weddings and elopements have an inherent charm we just can’t get enough of, and this inspiration shoot at East Sussex’s Frickley Lake was no exception. Using a mixture of organic textures, neutrals, and hanging Edison lights, the team at Butler & White put together a lakefront reception table that was as cozy as it was modern. And Rachel Grimes Flowers incorporated the colors and textures of the natural surroundings with florals that were equal parts whimsical and elegant. All of those beautiful details, combined with the bride’s woodland fairy-inspired style, meant Elena Popa Photography had so much romantic eye candy to capture, which she did brilliantly!

From the photographer: Wilderness weddings are becoming increasingly popular and we wanted to show that they are not just for summer in the UK! This shoot is intimate and shows the beauty of nature at this time of year in the UK, full of cozy blankets, warming mugs of wine, around the warm glow of a fire pit. The shoot is full of textures: a divine floral crown, a wonderful contrast of pure white orchids against dried hydrangeas and flower heads. I love the delicate rose gold ferns tucked into the bouquet and suspended over the tablescape, the perfect amount of delicate shimmer. The color palette is harmonious to the surroundings and the styling is organic and simple, creating a relaxed and carefree setting. Through all the elements we wanted to show off independent designers which are affordable but yet still special and unique.

This Quail Ranch Wedding was Dripping with California Sunshine and Dusty Blue Hues

February 23, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Classic elegance and earthy charm came together in the most beautiful ways in Cammie and Tom’s wedding at Quail Ranch! The dreaminess of the California backdrop was enhanced with a dusty blue palette that complemented the natural tones of the venue perfectly and brought an airy, summery feel to the entire design executed by the planning team from Harmony Creative Studio. From the nods to their respective religious traditions during the ceremony to the odes to their travels with the reception seating chart, every detail of Cammie and Tom’s day felt unique and heartfelt. Sarah Linda Photography could not have captured it all more beautifully!

The Couple:

Cammie and Tom

The Wedding:

Quail Ranch, Simi Valley, California

From our venue to our photographer to our wedding planner, it was important for us to surround ourselves with vendors who would help inspire a wedding that was uniquely ours. We loved the idea of having a venue with a big open space, with lots of greenery, where we could design our perfect day exactly as we imagined.

My favorite part of the day was our ceremony. Although it was short, it was an intimate time that felt like the rest of the world was standing still. I loved hearing my husband’s vows that he so thoughtfully wrote. Just as much, I treasured sharing my vows with him and declaring our love for each other in front of all the most important people in our lives.

My husband and I are different religions and wanted to incorporate aspects of both of our backgrounds into our ceremony. We felt it would be meaningful to have each of our brothers read a passage representing our religious backgrounds. It was also really important for us to find a special way to incorporate our wedding party at our ceremony. One of my husband’s childhood best friends designed a wedding program (and all our paper products) for us highlighting our bridesmaids and groomsmen. Designing the program was also a really great way to include people outside of our wedding party in our planning process.

My husband and I love traveling together and thought it would be fun if each table represented a city where we’ve traveled. To let our guests know where they were sitting, we had a large world map pointing to places where we’ve traveled. My dad made stands with a picture of my husband and me in that city that we displayed next to the map. It was a really cool way to add a personal touch to our reception!

This Botanical Inspired River Bend Lyons, CO Wedding Included a Build-Your-Own Flower Crown Bar

February 22, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Nothing says summertime romance like the plethora of flowers used in every inch of this River Bend Lyons, Colorado wedding! Kate and Dustin used their love of the outdoors to guide the vibe and style of their lovely outdoor wedding, from the vibrant color palette to the camp-inspired teepees and trailers they integrated into the decor. The oh-so-talented team at root + gather events helped them create a cohesive look that was equal parts whimsical and romantic, and  June Cochran Photography captured it all with exceptional attention to detail. We’re not exaggerating when we say you’ll want to make space on your Pinterest boards for every single detail of this Colorado wedding, especially the make-your-own flower crown station provided by Red Daisy Farm!

The Couple:

Kate and Dustin

The Wedding:

River Bend, Lyons, Colorado

We knew that we wanted to get married outdoors, surrounded by family and friends. It was also important to us that we could feel like ourselves on our wedding day. Through the planning process, we tried to make choices that would reflect who we are as a couple.

The ceremony — especially the walk down the aisle — was the most memorable part of the day! We decided not to do a first look, so seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle was pretty surreal.

We didn’t choose formal wedding colors, but we wanted to keep things cohesive with the amazing natural setting already offered by our venue. Wood, leather, and copper with warm earth tones and silvery greens seemed to fit the venue’s exposed sandstone formation and surrounding landscape.

We met while traveling to a winter bouldering area near El Paso. We were camped next to each other for 2 or 3 months, Dustin in a trailer and me in a tipi. To make this story part of our wedding, we used the tipi poles to build a ceremony arch and we brought our travel trailer in to create a guest lounge area.
