Earthy Romantic Utica, NY Wedding at Best View Barn

October 19, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Simplicity and community were top priorities at Victoria and Ilya’s earthy, romantic wedding at Best View Barn in Utica, New York. It’s always a great thing when you can hire a team of creative vendors to work on your special day and make your vision come true, but when it came to Victoria and Ilya’s wedding, they choose a different route. They hired GLDN Soul Events to help their vision of a happy, family gathering vibe come to life — and that’s exactly what it was! The florals, dessert, stationary, catering form Zeina’s Cafe, and even the furniture, were all carefully handcrafted by members of the community. Lawn games, blowing bubbles, and heartfelt patio chats were the highlight of the evening at Best View Barn. We can’t wait for you to see how Afrik Armando beautifully documented it all!

The most memorable part of our day was just before the ceremony. Upon arriving at the venue, it was almost overwhelming to see all those people there to celebrate our marriage. Before walking down the aisle, my husband and I took some time aside for a few minutes just to freak out and let everything settle in. We couldn’t believe after all the planning, our day was finally here! I was a little nervous and that small moment before walking down the aisle helped ground me and calmed my nerves.

Afrik Armando was incredible. He helped put us at ease and made our day so much fun. We haven’t had much experience being in front of a camera and Afrik made us feel comfortable. He made sure we had all dreamy photos we wanted.

The most important part about planning our wedding was definitely finding the right wedding planner. Planning is not my forte.. at all. So when I met my planner Ilona, she helped me design a mood board and select decor that was in line with my vision. I also didn’t want a traditional wedding. I wanted it to feel more like a party and celebration rather than a formal event.

For me, simplicity was key. The venue was so beautiful on its own, and I didn’t want to clutter with decor. I used inspiration from other weddings and decided I love the look of greenery, bohemian elements, and whimsical wildflowers.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Glam California Wedding at Wolf Feather Honey Farm

October 18, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Christina and Garrett’s Wolf Feather Honey Farm wedding brought motorcycles, tattoos, and the rock ‘n roll glam vibes that Pinterest boards are made of! The couple is “a little bit country and a little bit rock n’ roll,” so they incorporated all of the things they love the most: gold, leather, URBN Pizza, Diet Coke’s, Blackcat Motorcycles + Coffee, live music, sparklers, and more! Christina looked like a boho goddess dressed in a BHLDN gown and floral applique cape, and her groom was styling in a white ASOS suit . Singler Photography nailed it in capturing every moment of this truly unbelievable wedding at Wolf Feather Honey Farm!

The Couple:

Christina & Garrett

The Wedding:

Wolf Feather Honey Farm, Temecula, California

During the ceremony, our officiant, Craig, left us to exchange our vows under the tee-pee, under the vast open sky, all alone – just us two. At that moment, we felt like the only two people in the whole world. We remember nothing more than the stoic look in each others eyes, the sound of unparalleled love in each others voices & the way the wind passed between us, calm and serene.

Wedding planning advice from the bride and groom: Stay cool – keep calm – everything will be ok! It’s easy to get lost in the list of things to do, but time flies and planning is only as fun as you make it . Do it together, the biggest decisions are the easiest ones to make, go with your gut and stay true. You won’t be able to make every guest happy, so really, make your happiness the highest priority.

We thought we would surprise our guests with free tattoos from one of the most talented artists in the business. We designed a flash sheet with a dozen different designs that represent us the most; lightning bolts, traditional roses, dice, cherubs – the vibe inside the barn felt like a classic California motorcycle show!

Picturesque Niagara on the Lake Wedding at Gracewood Estates

October 17, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Anne Marie and James’ Gracewood Estates wedding has us feeling all of those dreamy, romantic feels! The couple wanted their day to be personal, picturesque, and joyous for all of their family and friends, so they decided to mix DIY (their table numbers, runners, and signage were all hand crafted) with a few key investments like whimsical florals with pastel accent colors by Mums Garden. Anne Marie’s style vision was to look simple and classic, so she went with a fitted Enzoani gown covered with a feminine Chantilly lace. We think she looked absolutely stunning! Scroll on for their sweet ceremony on the Gracewood Estates lawn, and some gorgeous golden hour portraits captured by the talented Ally + Nicholas Photography!

Wedding planning advice from the couple: Prep ahead of time! If you are doing any DYIs, prep and craft in advance and then relax and enjoy the week leading up to your big day. We were so glad that we took the week BEFORE our wedding off work to head to the cottage and relax. We wouldn’t have been able to do that if we didn’t do the small things in advance. It was so nice to just unwind and be in the present moment leading up to the biggest day of our lives.

The ceremony for us was the most memorable part of the day- the moment we became husband and wife. The walk up the aisle was a long one, and in that moment we only had eyes for each other. Time slowed down and sped up all in the same moment. We loved that our amazing officiant- Debbie Van Dyk encouraged us to pause and look out at all of our loving family and friends who had joined us to celebrate our big day.

We immediately fell in love with how picturesque Gracewood Estates was. It was important to us to have the full wedding- the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception- all the same venue so that our guests could unwind and not have to worry about travel. Although every component of our wedding day took place at Gracewood, each felt unique in that the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception took place in different areas of the property-the pear orchard, the front lawn of the estate and the cherry orchard. Each area offered so much character and charm. We love that the staff of Gracewood told us that we could essentially pick anywhere on the property to get married. It truly felt very personalized.

My mom (the mother of the bride) and I pressed flowers and placed them in acrylic for our table numbers and wedding signs. We also hand dyed cheesecloth as table runners for our reception. It was so much fun to craft!

Ally + Nicholas Photography are AMAZING. They put us at SUCH ease and gave us helpful direction in the most natural way possible. Not only are they fantastic photographers, but they are fantastic people. Ally helped bustle my dress, adjust my veil and provided makeup touches on the go. Their images of our day and the way that they captured the light completely blow us away. We love reliving our favorite day through their photos- such a treasure!
