This Industrial Montana Wedding at Rialto Bozeman Didn’t Skimp on the Lush Details

October 23, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Christopher and Seth’s stylish and lush wedding at Rialto Bozeman was truly inspirational! We’re absolutely in love with how the two chose outfits that complimented the other, but weren’t too “matchy, matchy” — and we must note that their lush boutonnieres designed by Labellum were the perfect addition to both ensembles. Day-of coordinator Happenings MT helped make sure the day ran seamlessly, sticking to the couple’s vision of a personal, intimate, and purposeful day. Prepare for one of the sweetest first looks we’ve ever seen, incredible style (including two outfit changes), and reception decor that will make you melt! The Couple:

Christopher & Seth

The Wedding:

Rialto Bozeman, Bozeman, Montana

It was important for us to really enjoy the process – so we took our time. We wanted our wedding to feel personal, intimate, and purposeful and so we thought through every detail and took the time to make sure everything was how we wanted it, irregardless of what might have been expected or assumed. We also wanted to make sure our wedding wasn’t only just about us, but also a space that celebrated people like us, and the things we care deeply about.

Wedding advice from the couple: We’re hyper organized, and that really helped us. Spreadsheets are your best friend. To combat the stress of planning, we intentionally reminded ourselves to have fun and live in the joy that we were getting to plan our dream wedding. On a more practical note, we told our families early on to manage their expectations about informing our wedding – we had the final say.

I (Christopher) have a deep and true love for Beyonce. We featured three songs during our ceremony. Love on Top (Beyonce) played as the curtains opened on the stage and our moms and grandparents walked the aisle. A close friend sang 1+1 (Beyonce) as Seth and I walked the aisle and up to the stage, and the live (Homecoming) version of Crazy In Love (Beyonce) played right after our first kiss as we and our best people danced off the stage.

Our photographer (@maggiegracephoto) and day of coordinator (@happeningsmt) were amazing to work with. They really made our day, and weeks leading up to, special and exciting. Maggie was able to capture all the moments, while also being a part of the fun. So many of my friends told me they didn’t even notice the photographer, meaning she was able to blend in and capture all the moments. Kris, the owner of Happenings Montana is a superstar. At one point, my sister casually said she wished she brought a toothbrush and Kris came out of nowhere and pulled a new toothbrush out of her backpack.

We wanted our wedding to feel urban and industrial, while also being warm and connected to place. We also wanted a venue that facilitated movement and the opportunity to have surprise, reveal moments. Finally, we wanted something that was untraditional and unexpected that would force us to be creative and would make our wedding one of a kind. Rialto Bozeman worked perfectly for all of the above.

One of the first things we decided about our wedding was that we wanted our wedding looks to feel personal and reflect our personalities. So often in queer / same sex weddings, the couple wear the same thing in a different color. We didn’t want that. We also wanted freedom in color so, we had all our guests wear black so our outfits would really pop. It was also important to us that our best people felt comfortable and powerful on our wedding day, so we let them pick their own looks (with some carefully curated color / palette guidelines). We both also knew we wanted to do an outfit change before the reception – and we opted for fun, unique, personal and memorable looks to really elevate the “70’s retro talk show dance party” reception theme.

This Lavender Ranch at Laguna Beach Wedding is How You Do Elegance with an Edge

October 22, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

With a ceremony decked out in the most stunning of lavender blooms and a cozy reception, we totally fell for Emma and Evan’s elegant Ranch at Laguna Beach wedding! Penelope Pots was the talented florist behind creating a garden fairyland that the couple would say their non-traditional vows in (have we mentioned that it was absolutely stunning?).  The couple also hired All In The Detail Design to help them pull off their vision of a day that represented the abundant love they have for each other and added a little edge to traditional elegance. With cozy and fun rentals from Signature Party Rentals, a cool En Route Coffee coffee bar, and the most delicious looking Sweet and Saucy Shop cake, all exceptions were exceeded! We can’t wait for you to see how Lauren Cate captured this couple’s love and every impeccable detail at Ranch at Laguna Beach!

The Couple:

Emma & Evan

The Wedding:

The Ranch at Laguna Beach, Laguna Beach, California

Our ceremony was beautiful. Jackie, from Penelope Pots, built us a garden fairyland for us to get married in. We didn’t go the traditional route with vows. Instead of the normal vows or each of us writing our own vows, we wrote one vow together for our marriage. We both promised the same things and honored each other’s hopes, expectations, and fears by focusing on love, grace, and respect as the foundation of our marriage.

Looking back, most people say that their wedding day is a blur; but for us, we still relive every moment. But both of favorite moment was the walk down the aisle. I (Emma) had been waiting up in the reception area where I got to see all of the vendors hard work and creativity come to life for the first time. I was not involved in the planning process too much. I took in every detail and then made my way down the aisle with both of my parents with me. My Evan was there at the end waiting for me just like I always had dreamed of.

The most important thing to me was that my friends and family knew how much we love and are so thankful for them! We wanted our bridal party and family to feel just as pampered as us on the day of. From the moment they got there until the dancing, we wanted everyone to participate in the abundant love that we feel everyday.

Wedding planning advice from the bride: Trust your planner (and vendors). They are there with your best interest at heart. Focus on the important thing: getting married. You are about to make a big decision in front of your friends and family so let the professional do their thing while you enjoy sweet time with your love!

Lauren Cate is amazing. She is the most comfortable person to work with. I am awkward in front of a camera but she made Evan and I feel comfy making out in front of her! But all jokes aside, she is the real deal. She never got in the way and she captured feelings in every picture that I didn’t know she could see.

Unique Elopement Alert: This Couple Exchanged Vows Among Over 100 Hot Air Balloons in Cappadocia, Turkey

October 21, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

If you’ve been searching for unique elopement ideas, get ready to fall head over heels for every photo Phan Tien captured of Louise and James! We can’t imagine a more romantic, picturesque place to exchange vows than with hundreds of colorful hot air balloons floating in the background as the sun rises over the Cappadocia landscapes. It was important to the couple that their outfits match the scenery, and we think they totally pulled with off with Louise in a gorgeous Ho-dieng dress accented with florals designed by Atelier Aimer. Scroll on and get all the unique elopement inspiration you’ll ever need!

The Couple:

Louise & James

The Wedding:

Sultan Cave Suites, Cappadocia, Turkey

The groom’s outfit was dark brown and the bride’s dress was cream/slightly vintage. We also had some lovely dry flowers which looked rustic and bohemian. It matched the scenery.

Tien led us to a “secret” spot at the edge of a cliff, and we never questioned his instructions! It was an exciting feeling watching the sun rise above the grandeur of the landscapes of beautiful Cappadocia, with possibly more than a hundred hot air balloons floating in the background. We also read our vows, which had been prepared the day before, to each other, and it was memorable because it was such an amazing (and inexplicable at the same time) feeling to spill our love for each other in front of such a natural wonder.

Wedding planning advice from the couple: We had pretty good advice from Tien (mostly to not wear certain things) and Tien also lent us a really pretty bridal dress. It is important to be and look comfortable when being shot on camera — it really shows. And…just enjoy the moment! It’s more important to look happy than to look perfectly poised.

Cheers to Louise and James, and many thanks to Junebug member Phan Tien for sharing this phenomenal unique elopement inspiration with us! If you’re swooning over Phan Tien’s work, we think you’ll also enjoy this truly epic tropical bohemian Vietnam elopement at Bai Tho Mountain.
