Rustic Boho Tennessee Wedding at K & M Barn at Lewis Farm

July 7, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Mekenzie and Seth’s wedding at K & M Barn at Lewis Farm was a rustic boho dream come true! The farm, which is owned by the groom’s family, was the ideal backdrop for a day that was as laid-back as the beautiful couple. They set up teepees, laid antique rugs, hung dreamcatchers, and brought in huge floral arrangements designed by Southern Sparkle Wedding and Event Planning to create a classically bohemian look. Then they added lots of pretty wood accents for a rustic touch. If you’ve been looking for summer backyard wedding inspiration with a distinct boho feel, look on further than these incredible images captured by the one and only Kelly Ginn Photography!

The Couple:

Mekenzie and Seth

The Wedding:

K & M Barn at Lewis Farm, Milan, Tennessee

We really wanted our wedding to reflect our personalities and overall just look like us. So, when it came to planning, it was so important for us to make sure that our wedding was as fun and laid back as we are. I wanted a boho vibe with a little bit of southern charm. The majority of our guests traveled for the big day, so we wanted to make sure that everyone had a great time.

Seth‘s family owns an absolutely beautiful venue in Tennessee. It was special for us because it is on his family’s farm and we have been lucky to watch it grow and become a huge success. If you’re in the West Tennessee area and are looking for an awesome outdoor/barn venue, give K & M Barn at Lewis Farm a ring!

My biggest advice for wedding planning is that first class vendors are an investment and they are 10000% worth it. Planning our wedding was a breeze because we had the most incredible, caring vendors who went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect.

Kenz’s in love with all things “teepee.” I made one that I used in my proposal so, naturally, we had to have one to take pictures with on the wedding day. My brother built one next to the barn, and she was thrilled with the way the pictures turned out. Score one for Seth!

This Creative Tube Factory Artspace Wedding Let the Art Speak For Itself

July 6, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Claire and James’ Tube Factory Artspace wedding had all the cool, casual wedding inspiration we needed today! The couple wanted their day to feel more like a fun party than a formal event, which is why the artistic loft was such a perfect choice. They added pretty pops of florals designed by Homegrown Florist, a potluck-style dessert bar, and tons of hanging paper lanterns, and that was all they needed to create a wildly creative yet totally romantic mood. The real magic, though, happened in all the in-between moments Emily Elyse Wehner Photography captured. We guarantee you’ll want to throw out all the “rules” for wedding planning and go casual once you lay eyes on Claire and James’ non-conventional celebration!

The Couple:

Claire and James

The Wedding:

Tube Factory Artspace, Indianapolis, Indiana

Many weddings tend to be formal and structured. We wanted an evening that was fun and casual but still very meaningful. We created a night of celebration and dancing under the stars. We kept the evening meal casual by allowing guests to pick their seats and mingle at the mix-matched metal tables rather than assigning a seating chart. This allowed our guests to filter in and out of the building to enjoy the patio and beautiful weather.

From the bride: The most memorable for me would be the dancing! Almost everyone in our little art gallery venue was letting their hair down and rockin’ it on the dance floor. James and I love to dance so that was the best thing we could have asked for at our wedding. Another thing I’ll always remember is how our family and friends came around us the day of the wedding to help set up and decorate for the night. We were so grateful for everyone’s time and how willing they were to lend a hand.

From the groom: For me, there was nothing that could rival the moment Claire walked down the aisle. Our seven years of dating had lead to that moment and it was overwhelming.

Our best advice to other couples: don’t sweat the small stuff and stay focused on the big picture! It’s easy to spend time worrying about each little detail and making sure it’s perfect, but no one will notice if something isn’t quite right. Everyone organizes their wedding a little differently and there aren’t many wedding “rules” anymore.

To go along with our idea of an evening under the stars, Claire built a small paper star backdrop for the ceremony in the gallery that hung on a copper pole structure. For the dance floor and main area, we borrowed large paper stars from a local church to hang from the beams and rafters along with string lights. The stars and lights created a romantic and creative environment for the evening to follow.

One of our favorite aspects of our wedding was our dessert spread. Rather than ordering a large ornate cake to share with our guests, we ordered a small cake for cutting and asked close friends and family to make their signature dessert to share. We labeled the array of sweets with the dessert name and the special person who made it.

Sweet and Southern Ashbourne Farms Wedding in Blush and Dusty Blue

July 5, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

After deciding that a church wedding didn’t feel right for them, outdoor lovers Shelby and John chose Ashbourne Farms for their special day because of its chic country club and rustic farm vibes. The couple’s planner, Shelly Fortune Event Design, helped them bring their worlds together into a flawless and seamless design that featured dusty blue and pink details alongside stunning florals arranged by State & Arrow. From the first look to the first dance, Love Hunters did a phenomenal job capturing every inch of this gorgeous Kentucky wedding!

The Couple:

Shelby and John

The Wedding:

Ashbourne Farms, La Grange, Kentucky

John and I grew up together. He played football, and I was the cheerleader. When I would get too stressed out about the wedding planning process he knew exactly what to do, like get me out of the house and take me to dinner. In the end, this day was about John and I. I knew that it would not be a successful big day unless we were both happy.

The most memorable part of the entire day was our first look. My parents have always said that John looked at when we were 14 the way he still looks at me today, but I did not realize it now. When we received our photos, I got to see what they were talking about! It was a moment just for us — no family, no friends, just us.

We wanted to show both sides of our lives: country club and farm life. Ashbourne Farms was an obvious yes for us. When we toured the grounds, I teared up because it was so perfect! We did not have to add a lot of decor because its immaculate property spoke for itself.

My wedding band was actually a surprise! We purchased the band, but then all the women who have had a significant influence on my life provided a diamond to add to the band. So my band looks like a vine around my engagement ring. This was kept from me until we exchanged rings at the altar.

We wanted to symbolize unity during the ceremony and, with John and I beginning our lives together in Kentucky, what better way to do that than with bourbon? We poured a mash into a mini bourbon barrel that has our names on it. Because the barrel is so small, it should be ready for us to drink on our first anniversary!

My hair is naturally very curly, I knew I wanted to keep it natural for the wedding day because that is what I am known for. In my hair, I had 4 pins that my Nana left for me when she passed away. My bracelet was my great grandma Martha’s that she left my mother when she passed. Also, my veil was from my hometown in Ohio. It was really important to me that I incorporated memories in my wedding day look.
