Calling All Free-Spirited Brides: Chance by Dreamers & Lovers Has the Boho Wedding Dresses You’ve Been Searching For

July 11, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

♫ California, here we come ♫ – okay, not really, but the latest bridal collection from Dreamers & Lovers is giving us all the California vibes we’ve been craving this summer! Chance, the 12-dress collection from the California-based designer, is full of bohemian lace and jaw-dropping silhouettes (hello, open backs and sleeves for days!) for brides with carefree passion. If you’ve been looking for the perfect dress that’s off the beaten path of traditional gowns while being effortlessly chic, prepare to fall head over freakin’ heels with these boho wedding dresses.

A little about Chance from the designer herself

Chance is about a woman who falls in love when she least expects it. Rather than question this serendipitous love, she takes a chance and embraces it fully. On the journey she realizes she’s found her other half. The one that rejuvenates her spirit, and gives her reason to dream with carefree passion.

There are plentitude of options for bohemian brides-to-be in this thoughtfully designed and dreamy 12-piece collection. [I] was inspired by the confident and independent woman who embodies the brand effortless sense of style. The Dreamers & Lovers bride is the woman with the huge smile on her face, loose waves or a braid in her hair. She’s the antithesis of a cookie cutter bride. She favors an understated but stunning gown, covering the bits she wants to cover, and showing off the bits she’s worked hard for.”

Feeling Nostalgic?

“The collection, filmed on a nostalgic ranch, on a warm late spring California day, is the ideal setting for her to bring this passion to life. She frolics through sun-drenched golden grassy fields, laughing with inhibited joy; she’s found her youthful exuberance. Even though she sucks at hiking, she’ll put on her hiking boot in her figure skimming dress, just to document the magic of their love. She can’t believe she never saw this coming, it is almost too good to be true.

On her wedding day, she desires to make a statement. This is a huge moment in her life, but she knows she has to make her own rules. She’s a confident woman.”

This Fashion-Forward Couple Had the Most Romantic Buoakirkja Black Church Elopement We’ve Ever Seen

July 11, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

After seeing Karla and Brian’s Buoakirkja Black Church elopement, it’s safe to say we will always fall crazy in love with Iceland weddings! Between the tiny painted church in the middle of nowhere and the photo ops from the beach to the waterfalls, in the snow and among the horses, this elopement can really only be described as epic. Their photographers, Paco and Betty, were there for the entire adventurous ride, making sure every ounce of magic was captured. The biggest surprise of the day came at the very end, though, when Karla and Brian got one last photo in the glow of the Northern Lights — a picture-perfect end to a perfect Icelandic elopement!

The Couple:

Karla and Brian

The Wedding:

Buoakirkja Black Church and Hotel Budir, Iceland

I’m obsessed with small churches. I grew up in a small town with a tiny church. I love those tiny buildings built to celebrate love and hope that are so often in the middle of nowhere. When I saw pictures of Buoakirkja Black Church, I was sold.

Even though we were eloping I wanted a second look – originally because we were going to do pictures over the course of a couple of days. I debated for MONTHS which one Brian would prefer to see me walk down the I aisle in… and I was worried my 2nd look might be a little too “nontraditional” for his taste. After our ceremony – Our photographer took me aside and was like why don’t you change into the other look it might be warmer? And she was right that giant tulle skirt was soo cozy.. and as I came down the stairs of the hotel for our 2nd first look – Brian says “That was your 2nd choice??” I almost started crying all over again.

Working with Paco and Betty was like having our best friends there. I didn’t have any of the locations pre-scouted out — I just had blogs of pretty points, some of which we missed because we couldn’t find them. But Whitney and Marcellos were so game to just road trip around with us, stop wherever we saw something cool, and go get lunch when we were hungry. They are truly adventure wedding photographers!

Something will go wrong. Something will get messy. Planning an elopement without a wedding planner, in a foreign country, and having never been to Iceland before – I did get a few things not perfect. Our first full day in Iceland, we were having so much fun playing tourist with our photographers, I literally forgot my wedding cake in a city two hours away. All you can do at that point is laugh about it and enjoy the moment — and always double back for cake!

I’ve always wanted to see the Northern Lights but, honestly, I was mentally prepared not to. I’ve read so many blogs about people going to Iceland for weeks and never seeing them. But we got to see them on the wedding night! The Hotel Budir does a Northern Lights call to your room, and we had just gotten back from exploring and taking photos when we got the call. Obviously, we rushed outside immediately — it was so amazing!

Enchanting Woodland Maine Wedding at Hidden Pond Resort

July 10, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Jevan and Ben’s Maine wedding at Hidden Pond Resort was the epitome of relaxed elegance! The woodsy ceremony space made for the most enchanting backdrop for their “I dos,” and their cozy indoor reception had all the charm of an at-home celebration — but with plenty of space to dance! The beauty was most definitely in the details on this special day, from the bride’s applique dress to the pinecones and mismatched glassware used to decorate the reception tables. Not to mention the pretty floral arrangements designed by Watershed Floral, which added a touch of soft color to both the cocktail and dinner areas. From top to bottom, Jevan and Ben’s wedding was everything we love about outdoor summer weddings, and Emily Delamater Photography could not have captured it all more perfectly!
