Eclectic ’70s Inspired Austin Wedding at Rambling Rose Ranch

November 19, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Taylor and Javier were sure about two things when it came to planning their wedding at Rambling Rose Ranch: it would be everything but traditional and a truly magical day. It was! We’re positively obsessed with all of the 70s flare incorporated in this inspiring day — from Taylor’s Fillyboo dress and her bridesmaids’ retro outfits to the funky table arrangements and coolest pink cake we’ve ever seen! This day was packed with all the fun entertainment, too! Wait until you see the adorable furry friends from Carly’s Critter Camp and the classic Volkswagen Vannagram & Co photo booth. If you love the 70s and all things colorful, we can’t wait for you to see how Brooke Taelor captured Taylor and Javier’s rad wedding at Rambling Rose Ranch!

The Couple:

Taylor & Javier

The Wedding:

Rambling Rose Ranch, Austin, Texas

My wedding dress was from an Australian line with a boho look. It had embroidered flowers on it to tie in with the colors of the wedding party. I kept accessories simple. I wore red chunky platforms and a necklace made of different crystals to give me all the right energy for the day of jitters.

I may be biased but I think we hired one if the best photographers in all the lands. I’m the queen of awkwardness when it comes to photos, and Brooke did nothing but make all of us feel like rock stars. I look through our photos over and over again to make an album and stop because I love every single photo so much it’s hard to chose. She is extremely talented and so humble. I couldn’t be happier with our choice.

The bride’s most memorable parts of the day: Walking down the aisle in my dads military jacket to feel as though he was still with me is definitely tied with the fact that my husband took my last name to honor my father.

I’m far from traditional so I didn’t want anyone to match. I got my inspiration for the girls from vintage 70s prints and just so happened to have an amazing connection to a line out of Australia who fit my vision perfectly. The girls some in dresses and some in jumpsuits all wore different 70s inspired prints that they chose with chunky heels and jewelry of their choosing.

Wedding planning advice from the bride: Take your time in deciding all the things you know matter most to you. Delegate tasks for your wedding party to help you with and always remember it’s supposed to be fun and special. Never let stress ruin that magic.

We searched and toured MANY venues, but I had a special feeling the moment we turned on the property of Rambling Rose Ranch. From the antique architectural salvage the owner had collected, the amazingly beautiful oak trees that surrounded the entire property, the dance floor outlined with antique window panes, to the farm animals ready to greet you. It was just right. After meeting with the owners who appreciated my weird and unique ideas we knew we found our match.

Quirky Indoor Garden Wedding at Limestone Hall in Lexington, KY

November 18, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Chris and Mark celebrated their wedding at Limestone Hall in Lexington, Kentucky — and it was absolutely spectacular in every way! We couldn’t be more in love with how Stems totally transformed the venue with dramatic greenery and touches of pampas grass. After the couple said “I do” with a special ring blessing ceremony, it was time for the party to begin. With the help of Lexington Event Company, the couple planned a reception complete with a drag queen performance and lots of dancing! We can’t wait for you to see every moment Brandi Potter beautifully captured of Chris and Mark’s Limestone Hall wedding day.

Wedding planning advice from the couple: Wedding planning is a lot of work. Hire a planner, it is SO worth the money to have someone with connections and knowledge about all the little details. And it allows you to have more fun since you’re not so bogged down with all those details. Always remember that you’re just planning a party! So lighten up and have fun with it!

Stems, our florist was above, and beyond the best we could have asked for. I am not someone who cares much for florals or greenery, but as I walked into the venue for the first time, I was literally breathless. The flowers they put out were so gorgeous it brought tears to my eyes.

We personalized our wedding ceremony by having a “blessing of the rings”. We had each member of our wedding parties say a blessing for us and what they wished for our lives together. It was really special.

The most important part for us was getting good photography so we can remember our big day for years to come and have beautiful pictures to share. We had two photographers who could not have been better! We love Brandi Potter and Ayna Lorenzo in such different ways artistically and we loved having both of their perspectives on our big day. They worked together beautifully, and gave us some really wonderful shots.

Blush and Rose Northern Minnesota Wedding at Grand View Lodge

November 17, 2019 | Junebug Weddings

Ariel and Josh’s wedding at Grand View Lodge was the perfect mix of romance and edge! Beauty Brilliance Events and Design did a phenomenal job planning this day down to the last little detail — especially the dramatic reception decor and stunning, moody florals FluidBloom created. The couple looked just as breathtaking with Ariel dressed in an intricate Milla Nova wedding dress and Josh in Generation Tux. We’re feeling thankful photographer Alexandra Wallace was there to capture every detail, including a sweet, tear-filled first look as Ariel walked down the aisle. Scroll on for so many sweet moments and more!

The Couple:

Ariel & Josh

The Wedding:

Grand View Lodge, Nisswa, Minnesota

My dress by Milla Nova was my diva moment! After trying on a ton of dresses in a San Diego shopping trip with my girlfriends, I still could not decide. Knowing the styles that had looked great on me, I shopped online and finally found the prefect dress on Instagram. However it was last year’s model and there was only one left in my size in a showroom in Chicago. I had it shipped to their Las Vegas showroom and then flew to Vegas to try it on! Luckily it was THE dress!

Wedding planning advice from the bride: Be in planning mode until the festivities start. Then let go and enjoy! The night of the rehearsal dinner I was rushing around in planning mode when I realized, oh the party is here! Time to stop planning and be present. It worked out wonderfully. I was able to enjoy everything and ignore the hiccups (the photo booth never arrived). Having a day-of coordinator helped me immensely let go of the details and enjoy our day.

Grand View Lodge is beautiful, has delicious food, and supplies everything on site, so we didn’t have to worry about renting or placing our plates, tables, chairs, etc, but it also affordable considering everything that is provided. A lot of our guests were coming from California so we wanted them to be able to have a weekend experience when they came out for our wedding. Grand View offers a resort-style stay with plenty of activities that offered our guests a taste of Northern Minnesota.

My photographer, florist and stylist came out to Minnesota from California for us! They are so amazing and having vendors I knew, loved and trusted made the day so perfect! It would not have been the same without their amazing talents and hearts!
