Quirky Vintage Texas Wedding

February 15, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Quirky-Vintage-Texas-Wedding-Stephanie-Rogers (18 of 34)

We love a wedding that showcases a talented and creative couple, and Abi and Nick’s quirky vintage Texas wedding absolutely fits the bill. Sweet bride Abi designed and crafted her own stunning gown, in addition to the adorable bridesmaid’s wear and the groom and groomsmen’s tie. Even more than the perfectly personal decor, the emotional moments captured by Stephanie Rogers Photography truly stole the show (and our hearts!).

The Couple:

Abi and Nick

The Wedding:

Willow Lake Garden, Weatherford, Texas

The Inspiration:

Vintage. Homemade. Classy. I really think we came out as winners with this wedding. We are biased, but it’s the best wedding we have ever been to. It was centered around friends, faith, and our passions. And we couldn’t have asked for anything better than that.

The Proposal:

I flew up to Portland on her birthday. I was pretty nervous. As soon as I got to Portland, I jumped in her car and drove her to Multnomah Falls. We climbed to the top of the water falls, and I gave her a bag of coffee for her birthday. She was pretty disappointed–even though coffee is our biggest commonality… she was expecting something different. Like a ring, or something. I asked her to open the bag and smell how great the beans were. And when she did, the wedding ring was visible. And that’s when I asked! She hyperventilated. And I forgot to get down on one knee.

The Moments:

The best part of the wedding was no particular event. It was just the people. We both come from split families. But our entire families were there. And all of our friends were there. And for one night we were able to be present, together, and enjoy each others company without having to look at the bad things from the past. I think it was therapeutic and an important day for all of us.

One cool thing was that we served Intelligentsia Coffee at our wedding, and guests would pick up their coffee mug party favor and had two baristas make them coffee of their choice.

The Couple Recommends:

Stephanie Rogers. She was an awesome photographer. If it weren’t for her, nothing would have come together so beautifully with such vision–especially in our photos.

Mediterranean Inspired Wedding at The Ebell

February 15, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Mediterranean-Inspired-Wedding-at-The-Ebell (22 of 29)

Stephanie and Alex’s sweet and playful wedding flourished with vibrant colors. From yellows and pinks all the way to deep purples, this Mediterranean inspired wedding at The Ebell in Los Angeles was the perfect wedding day for this fun couple. Talented photographer Corey Nikols captured the couple’s sweet romance throughout the day flawlessly.

The Couple:

Stephanie and Alex

The Wedding:

The Ebell of Los Angeles

The Inspiration:

The overall feel I wanted was something that felt Mediterranean and very warm and romantic. We chose The Ebell because of the Spanish-influenced architecture and we accented it with warm sunset colors – coral, pink, orange, and some yellow. One element I really wanted to incorporate was oranges and other citrus fruits. That, specifically, felt very Spanish to me so those were scattered throughout the florals and table arrangements as well as used for the escort cards. Pilar candles were arranged around the tables and smaller tea lights hung in globes from the taller floral arrangements, creating a very dimly lit, romantic vibe for the reception. Everything was meant to feel very organic and pretty (as though all those gorgeous decorations just fell into place!)

As a base color, I chose burgundy/plum for the bridesmaids’ dresses and table linens. I wanted something that would really contrast and make the florals pop. A sheer, gold lace was used as an overlay on the tables to accent the gold throughout the room – the vases, the charger plates, the chairs etc. – and to add to the sort of old-world romantic feel.

My favorite thing about the entire day was probably my dress! It was a very pale pink colored Lazaro gown with a dropped waist, jeweled belt, and 32 layers of tulle that fell at all different lengths. Each layer was a different shade that varied from cream all the way to a true pink. As they all fell on top of each other, it created a look that was soft but had gorgeous dimension. I could have twirled around in that thing all night.

The Moments:

Steph: Probably our first dance, which was “Love Me Tender” by Norah Jones. It was one of the very few moments I was even aware that my wedding was happening. Time seemed to stand still and it was just me and Alex.

Alex: When I first saw her walk out with her dad – she looked so incredibly beautiful and it all became so real and exciting at that moment.

Romantic Tuscan Wedding in the Countryside

February 14, 2015 | Junebug Weddings

Romantic-Tuscan-Wedding-in-Countryside (27 of 30)

Italian wedding venues always have great architecture and views of the countryside. Emmanuelle and Amayas’ romantic Tuscan wedding had it all and then some! The groom drove to the traditional Italian ceremony in a Chianti classic car. The dreamy ceremony was followed by a whimsical reception. The bride wore a floral wreath on her head that resembled the natural surroundings of Fattoria di Rignana. And to top it all off, renowned photographer Roberto Panciatici captured the couple’s picturesque and unforgettable day beautifully.

The Couple:

Emmanuelle and Amayas

The Wedding:

Chiesa di Panzano in Chianti

The Inspiration:

We wanted to have a colorful and countryside wedding, simple but chic at the same time, inspired from the tuscan atmosphere and its very special colors: greenish, pale orange and red with little decor details as I (Emmanuelle) am an interior designer, creating a special atmosphere was very important! We prepared this moment to gather all the family and friends we loved, in a relaxed mood with music as it was very important for Amayes and because we do love good djs and parties. We also wanted to gather all the Tuscan special atmosphere, with its good food and wine!

The Moments:

It is very difficult to tell which moment was our favorite as we have many fantastic memories from our wedding… Maybe the moment when the sun came back around the pool, during the cocktail hour, after the rain, which made for a very dramatic atmosphere… it was very special…. We also really enjoyed the day after, on Sunday, when the pressure of the day was over and we danced all day long with our friends.

The Couple Recommends:

We really enjoyed working with Roberto, our photographer, he is vey passionate with his work and he helped us have memorable pictures from our wedding. He is the best photographer ever! We would also like to thank all the people from our wedding venue, la Fattoria di Rignana, especially Simona who helped us a lot to prepare our wedding day and make it very special. We really felt at home there and they welcomed us so kindly! I also recommend Elise, the stylist who designed my dress, she takes her inspiration from the mid 20’s fashion style and her dresses are simple & beautiful. Least but not last, our DJ, Young pulse, who is a really talented producer and DJ who is based between France and USA.
