Gorgeous Bordeaux Winery Wedding at Chateau Franc Mayne

February 19, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

It’s hard to believe that Megan and Logan planned their wedding at France’s Chateau Franc Mayne while living thousands of miles away in San Francisco! Luckily for them, the expert wedding planners at Jenny Morel Weddings and Wedays had everything under control and created a gorgeous event for them and their guests. The couple’s main request was that every detail, from the color palette to the flowers, blend seamlessly with the winery and have a subtle autumnal vibe. The result was an intimate garden ceremony and a luxurious yet laid-back dinner party overlooking one of Bordeaux’s breathtaking vineyards. The golden hour portraits of the bride and groom along with the impossibly beautiful landscape photos captured by Yoris Photographe have us ready to pack your bags for a romantic adventure through the French countryside!

The Couple:

Megan and Logan

The Wedding:

Chateau Franc Mayne, Bourdeaux, France

We wanted our wedding to have an intimate and fun vibe that blended in with the beautiful surroundings. With a guest list of only 18 we were able to achieve that. It was like having an amazing party with our closest friends.

I wanted a simple look that I hoped would not look dated a few years down the line. I also wanted to look like myself. I fell in love with my Lihi Hod top and skirt and the intricate details of the top and simplicity of the bottom. I kept the accessories to a minimum, just wearing a thin gold bracelet that belonged to my great grandmother. I only had a maid of honor and she wore a beautiful reformation dress that was a dark navy to match Logan‘s suit.

The majority of the details like the flowers and the catering and the music were all a bit of a surprise to us because we planned a wedding in France while living in San Francisco and we did not see everything come to life until the day of. Luckily, it was a very happy surprise!

Since we were getting married in early September I wanted to the wedding to have a slight Autumn feel, I also love simplicity. For the flowers, I chose mainly white and cream with a few pops of deep red burgundy color and lots of greenery.

For our guests, we did a beautiful wooden wine box filled with a bottle of wine from the chateau, french sparkling water, french macaroons, a lovely soap from a local store in the village and a personalized handwritten note thanking each guest for traveling so far to share in our wedding celebration.

Fabulous Downtown Seattle Wedding at Sodo Park

February 19, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Modern and fun downtown Seattle venue? Check. Gorgeous Hayley Paige wedding dress? Check. Surprise kazoo performance at the end of the ceremony? Check! Jacy and Tyler’s summer wedding at Sodo Park was full of elegant details and unexpected twists. They chose a classic color palette of black, white, and gold and added in pops of green wherever possible. They put their personal twists on the decor by using striped table runners and linens, creating place “cards” from agate slices, and offering cotton candy as a dessert option – as well as a take-home favor. Photographer Shannon Rosan was the perfect choice to capture every fab detail of this wedding, including some super cool portraits at the famous Pikes Place Market!

The Couple:

Jacy and Tyler

The Wedding:

Sodo Park, Seattle, Washington

I wore the Dori by Hayley Paige and was obsessed with it the moment I laid eyes on it. I saw an image of it online and literally said, “That’s my dress,” and searched the entire country for it until I located it! I knew I wanted something that was going to be a statement and definitely accomplished that. I wore my mom’s veil that she gifted me before she passed away, and I wore her diamond earrings and wedding ring as my accessories.

We’ll never forget walking through Pike Place Market for photos after the first look. It was INSANE with everyone yelling and shouting congratulations and woohoo’s to us! It felt like a movie scene, and I will never forget that feeling of love and glee in the middle of chaos.

To personalize our ceremony, we had the person who introduced us officiate our wedding. We also incorporated an Icelandic Ceremony Tradition as a nod to my Icelandic Heritage, and a section of the ceremony highlighted my mom who passed away last year. Finally, our best friend and my cousin both read passages during the ceremony, and our other best friend did a solo at the end of the ceremony when they broke into “All You Need Is Love.”

One of the most memorable parts of the day for me was when our officiant and dear friend Mackenzie asked us in the middle of the ceremony to pause, turn around and look out to all of the faces sitting in the crowd. The love in the room was palpable, and that was something I will never forget.

At the end of our ceremony, our band surprised the guests when they started to sing “All You Need is Love” and our bridal party joined in with Kazoos – that was pretty memorable as well!

A good friend told gave us the best piece of wedding advice that I’ll never forget: throughout your wedding day, and while you’re planning for the big day, remind yourself to stop and take mental photographs. Just stop, look around, and remember the smallest moments that all add up to the big day. I was so grateful to have that reminder; those are some of my very favorite (and funniest) memories.

We made the place cards out of agate slices with calligraphy writing. We also made the table numbers, all of the wooden signage, the balloon entrance, and all of the printed materials (menus, programs, etc).

Processionals – “A Thousand Years” by Romeo + Juliet (acoustic version)
Recessional – “All You Need is Love” by The Beatles (performed live by the wedding band with help from the wedding party)
First Dance – “Give Into Me” by Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester

Vintage Rustic California Wedding at Bailey's Palomar Resort Jaicee Morgan-15

Amanda and Kevin’s wedding at Bailey’s Palomar Resort had the perfect combination of rustic, outdoorsy charm and vintage, antique style. From a cozy ceremony under large oak trees to a laid-back outdoor reception with yard games and an impressive dessert bar, this wedding was a Pinterest-worthy masterpiece! The bride looked gorgeous in a vintage-style Anais Anette wedding dress and carried a striking cascading bouquet made by a family friend. Photographer Jaicee Morgan captured some truly stunning couple portraits in the fields and forests around the resort, including the intimate first-look moments in the cottage. There’s such charm and love in every detail of this wedding that we can’t help but scroll through these photos over and over again!

I have always admired vintage bridal photos and wanted that classic look. My dress was not vintage, but it did have the timeless look I wanted. I wore simple gold accessories. I wanted earthy tones, so my bridesmaids all got ivory dresses. They were able to pick out their own dresses, because I wanted everyone to be comfortable in their dress.

Our first look was the most memorable part of the day for both of us. We were both so nervous to be the center of attention the whole day, but as soon as we saw each other our nerves turned into joy and excitement!

Jaicee was great. I am usually the one taking photos and hate getting my photo taken. I was so worried that I would feel super awkward, but she made us feel comfortable. Honestly, we did not even notice our picture being taken most of the time, we were just enjoying the moment.
