Natural and Neutral Hornby Island Wedding at Sea Breeze Lodge

October 21, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Megan and Jamie kept their décor minimal and planning simple so the natural beauty of their picturesque venue, Sea Breeze Lodge, would shine through. The idyllic location and fun environment was full of refined elegance and rustic charm – the perfect setting for a stunning beachfront ceremony with wide ocean views, lush forests, and golden meadows reflected beautifully in the natural color palette of greens, greys, and hints of gold. Floral designer Alina Milek captured the relaxed, boho chic and adventurous vibe of the island with gorgeous neutrals and some seriously creative flower installations. We can’t get over how gorgeous these photos from Nomad by NK photography are, especially the adorable first look featuring the couple’s rescue pup, Dave, who was involved in every minute of the day.

The Couple:

Megan and Jamie

The Wedding:

Sea Breeze Lodge, Hornby Island, Canada

The wedding vibe was completely our style: laid back and natural. The beauty of the property was the star; we chose minimal decor and just created a fun environment for people to celebrate with us.

Our photographers were absolutely amazing they made us feel so relaxed and kept us laughing which came through in our photos which we so authentic and natural. We couldn’t have asked for two better people to capture our wedding.

I loved our first look, seeing him for the first time was one of the best moments of my life. Also, the ceremony. We wrote our own vows and sharing our promises and love for one another in front of our friends and family was so special. Honestly everything about our wedding day was my favourite.

It’s hard to pick a specific moment our first look was something I will never forget, as well as the ceremony and time after the ceremont where we took some tim eto have a drink just the two of us as husband and wife.

When Jamie proposed during our yearly camping trip in Tofino, my amazing brothers brought fireworks and set them off the night of our engagement in front of a full beach of campfires. I actually didn’t believe it was them lighting them off. I was so blown away by these two – what a way to celebrate!

Nontraditional Irish Wedding at Mount Juliet Estate with a Gothic Twist

October 20, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Both wedding industry professionals, Rayna and Joe wanted their Mount Juliet Estate celebration to truly reflect their personalities without apologizing for being different. The couple created a romantic atmosphere in the Irish countryside and designed every detail to include their guests for a sophisticated twist on the traditional wedding – like including their mothers in the traditional Celtic hand-binding ceremony. The bride’s gorgeous alternative Mywony Bridal wedding gown featured ethereal black and blush tulle with detailed embroidery that stunned in the acres of meadow and forest surrounding the estate. Florals by Lovebird Designs created a moody color palette of dark reds, light pinks, and cool-toned greens and a bridal bouquet bursting with roses and peonies. Tomasz Kornas Photography captured the couple’s truly beautiful first look on the grounds and the hours before the ceremony spent kissing, holding hands and enjoying the moments throughout the day.

The Couple:

Rayna and Joe

The Wedding:

Mount Juliet Estate, Ireland

We wanted a venue that was both sophisticated yet relaxing. As soon as we saw the photo of Mount Juliet we knew this was exactly what we were looking for.

Being in the wedding industry we’ve seen all types of traditional weddings, so it was important to us that we truly reflect who we are as a couple in our wedding day, without apologizing for being different. We also put a lot of energy into making sure our guests felt included and had a lot of fun working together to design all of the details. We loved how it all turned out!

We both really loved being able to spend a few hours before the ceremony doing photos. We wandered around the gorgeous grounds kissing, holding hands and just being together in the moment. It was super romantic and the photos are stunning!

Before we walked in: In Spite of Ourselves – John Prine
Processional: Anchor’s Away – Mamo
First Dance: Moondance – Van Morrison

We loved the idea of doing a traditional Celtic hand-binding ceremony, but mixed it up by writing the wording for each of the ties. Our moms participated in the ceremony and were the ones who tied our hands together. We also wrote our own vows. It was perfect!

The morning of the wedding we sent pashminas anda flask filled with whiskey and a cigar to each of our guests rooms with a card that said “Welcome to Rayna & Joe‘s most spectacular day”

We worked together to design and layout everything from our wedding invitations and welcome packet to the menu cards and hangover recover kits. As a wedding planner/designer and art director it was hard for us to let go, so we dove in and did it all.

Minimalist Glam Utah Wedding at Studio Elevn

October 20, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Far from the typical Utah wedding, Amanda and Dominique’s Studio Elevn celebration was full of downtown vibes and a modern chic aesthetic with plenty of relaxed details that embraced the couple’s roots. The historic building featured exposed brick, clean lines, and a creaking staircase perfect for their passionate pre-wedding couple photos. Beautifully coordinated by Belle Bodas and Events, the studio was left untouched to highlight the bright white space and natural light that created an ethereal and sophisticated zone just for the couple and their guests. The fresh green ceremony arch and hanging light fixtures by The Potted Pansy perfectly accentuated the nontraditional minimalist theme and allowed the couple to shine. Photographer Kenzie Dawn captured the emotion, romance and celebration of the day, from the adorable flower girls to the couple’s stunningly sunlit first look. We adore the strawberries and cream waffle cake by Waffle Luv, a whimsical and delicious wedding cake alternative!

The Couple:

Amanda and Dominique

The Wedding:

Studio Elevn, Salt Lake City, Utah

I loved the lace detail of my Rue Deseine, the detail on the long sleeves. My flower girls were dresses to fit their personalities: Nia in a princess dress and Marley more boho. My bridesmaids were in Vera Wang , each dress different but same color. Everything else was very basic I didn’t want to get too wild with accessories.

I will never forget the overall vibe, everyone was relaxed and happy.

I’m not into flowers or florals I’m a minimalist andwanted a lot of clean lines very bare with greenery my colors were neutrals.

I loved the down town studio vibe, super cool old brick building with creaking staircase.

Our ceremony prayer was very personal to us and all the steps we took in preparing for the ceremony, having our kids there to witness.

Processional: Craig Armstrong – Glasgow Love Theme
Recessional: Stevie Wonder – Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours
First Dance: Anthony Hamilton – The Point Of It All

We wanted to stay really true to who we are. We’re not in to the typical “Utah wedding” and we wanted everyone to have fun and enjoy their time with us on our night.

My photographer was amazing! Also we took all the pictures before the ceremony, we were able to eat and drink with our guests and just have a good time seeing everyone and talking with them.

We had a waffle cake instead of a traditional wedding cake, Waffle Luv was my six year old Nias’ choice.
