Sweet Traditional Indiana Wedding at The Historic Ambassador House and Heritage Gardens

August 18, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Marissa and Brent’s traditional garden wedding at at The Historic Ambassador House and Heritage Gardens incorporated plenty of family traditions and DIY details. The personalized ceremony was performed by a family friend that introduced the couple and incorporated the Unity Candle used in the bride’s parents wedding. Marissa’s color scheme followed a general spring theme of creams, whites, pinks and greens. The dance floor’s paper flower structure was DIY’ by ten family members and the faux pearl chandeliers were made by the bride, while the mother of the bride created the centerpieces and ceremony decorations. Eight31 photography captured the sweet moments and beautiful décor.

The Couple:

Marissa and Brent

The Wedding:

The Historic Ambassador House and Heritage Gardens, Fishers, Indiana

We wanted a classic, traditional vibe that reflected our personal style. We wanted to plan a wedding that we would have liked to attend! We tried to be as thoughtful as possible as we picked out songs for cocktail hour and made sure to have plenty of Busch Lite flowing (Brent‘s personal brew of choice).

One moment that sticks out for both of us took place after the ceremony. Our guests were enjoying cocktail hour and Brent and I were taking photos with Kelsey, our photographer. Kelsey ushered Brent and I to a balcony that overlooked the venue. Our guests, below at cocktail hour, seemed to notice us all at once. Everyone went a little quiet and then all applauded. It was a really special moment to be able to look out at everyone in our lives that had helped us reach that point. There was an intense feeling of love all around that was really special and very unscripted.

I never really had a set color scheme, my scheme was spring and we tried to incorporate the beautiful gardens in which we were married as much as possible. When forced to answer, I would say creams, whites, beiges, pinks and greens. The color scheme was dynamic and ever-changing as planning progressed up until the day of!

The ceremony was personalized from beginning to end as we elected to have a family friend perform the ceremony. He even took a moment to acknowledge (read embarrass) the mutual friend that introduced Brent and Marissa.

We DIY’d all sorts of things! Probably the most stress-inducing DIY project was the paper flower structure that we hung above the dance floor. It took 10 family members and friends a combined 18 hours to cut, fluff and hang what ultimately became the centerpiece of the reception venue. The mother of the bride put together all of the centerpieces and beautiful ceremony decorations. The bride crafted three faux pearl chandeliers that hung over the head table.

Rustic Rose Gold Oregon Wedding at Heiser Farms

August 18, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Kendra and Wallace celebrated their rustic ranch wedding at Heiser Farms. The beautiful outdoor setting accommodated their large number of guests, who watched them exchange vows in a laid back and fun ceremony followed by an activity-packed barn reception. The wedding colors reflected the romantic theme with rose pinks, dusty blushes and champagnes, brought out in the bridesmaid dresses and flowers, designed by For the Love of Pete. Victoria Carlson Photography captured the happy couple enjoying a few silly, romantic moments away from the party.

The Couple:

Kendra and Wallace

The Wedding:

Heiser Farms, Dayton, Oregon

More than anything we wanted our wedding to be a true reflection of us both. The flowers, colors and other feminine details aren’t usually representative of most grooms. So, we worked together to create a look that was both beautiful, classic, and unique to who we are as a couple.

It was a must that our venue be outdoor. It was also a must that it could fit all of our guests! Heiser Farms provided us with both. It was a beautiful outdoor setting with plenty of room for our large guest list.

We wanted the ceremony to be short and sweet. Our family friend and pastor did a great job making the ceremony personal, but keeping it to the point. Our recessional song, the theme song from Star Wars, was the perfect nerdy touch to make the ceremony totally us!

Our wedding colors were a pallet of rose pinks, blushes, and champagne colors, mostly brought out in the florals and bridesmaid dressing. The groomsmen and groom brought out different shades of grey. It all came together on it’s own really. Once we found the bridesmaids dresses, the flowers and everything else followed.

We wanted our wedding to be fun and laid back. It was important to us that our guest enjoy themselves, and that we could enjoy the night with them. We had lots of activities throughout the night, from the traditional first dance and cutting of the cake, to a miniature train ride, and worship service at the end of the night.

Processional: Liz on Top of the World (Pride and Prejudice soundtrack)
Recessional: Star Wars and the Revenge of the Sith (Star Wars soundtrack)
First Dance: Then, by Brad Paisley

The photos taken in the flower field at our venue are our absolute favorite! It was as the sun was starting to set, so the lighting is romantic and warm. There is one of Wallacepicking me up and kissing me. White flowers surround us and the sun is peaking through behind us. It’s so romantic, like something out of a fairy tale.

Floral-Inspired Oceanfront Wedding at Hotel Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas

August 17, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Mandy and Drew’s dreamy destination wedding at Hotel Riu Palace in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico will have you wanting to pack your bags and take the next flight.  The happy couple chose a spot where everyone would have a good time, and they let the beautiful scenery inspire them for decor and overall vibe of their wedding. From an oceanfront ceremony to classic florals and a candlelit reception, their day was stress-free and full of romance. Sticking to the basics let them focus on what mattered most to them– each other. Tricia Victoria Photography was there to document the day and effortlessly portrayed Mandy and Drew’s love for one another.

The Couple:

Mandy and Drew

The Wedding:

Hotel Riu Palace, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

My dress was Truvelle. I was obsessed with the chiffon and I had them customize the top so it would be more simple. I had Tiffany earrings, and my friend made us all floral crowns to match since the bridesmaid dresses were all a little different.

Instead of exchanging bride and groom gifts the day of the wedding, we got a puppy when we got home. His name is Blue and he’s so silly!

The bridesmaids wore Show Me Your Mumu (such amazing dresses I was jealous, haha). They helped me pick them out and, the nice thing was, they came in different top styles so the girls didn’t have to feel uncomfortable– the material was made for hot weather. Men wore navy dress pants and white dress shirts from Simons. I also got the girls Melanie Auld necklaces that were dainty gold chains with a pink opal heart. I’m pretty sure they are all still wearing them.

Not sure if this was a surprise other than to anyone who saw… but after pictures before the reception, I had to pee so bad so I kissed Drew goodbye, ran 20 minutes down the beach by myself, hopped a fence, then ran through the resort looking for a bathroom. Barefoot in my wedding dress!

Processional and Recessional: Acoustic Guitar with no vocals
First Dance: I Choose You- Sarah Bareilles
Father/Daughter Dance: Three Little Birds- Bob Marley

Most of our professionals were through the resort but they were all amazing. Our photographer, Tricia, was so easy to be around and fun! I would definitely recommend her to be trusted for your big day. She made taking photos really fun and even made sure to scout locations ahead of time so we could stay on schedule with are day. She was always complimenting our party and made everyone feel at ease. Very professional and easy breezy!
