Stunning Swedish Beach Wedding at Hotel Tylösand

August 16, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

Hotel Tylösand was the perfect place for Isabelle and Fredrik to celebrate their wedding day with their family and friends. Inspired by the sea, they used seashells for name cards and loose, blue fabric as table runners to represent ocean waves. These details, accompanied by the spectacular view of the ocean, made for a beautiful Swedish beach wedding. Matilda Söderström Photography captured the overflowing joy and sweetest first look between Isabelle and Fredrik.

Hotel Tylösand, Halmstad, Sweden

The most important thing to us was to throw a great party for our friends and family. We wanted it to be an entire weekend of celebration instead of just one day. We had a barbecue on Friday, ceremony, dinner and party on Saturday, and brunch and spa on Sunday.

Overall, the ceremony in the Church was the most memorable part of the weekend.

The hotel is located on the beach so we knew from the beginning that we wanted the theme to be influenced by the sea. We decided to go for a wild ocean theme with darker blue and grey colors accompanied by brass. We wanted a mix between elegance and wildness. The dinner restaurant has an amazing view of the sunset and the beach. The tables where decorated with messy placed table runners of blue linen to symbolize waves with mussel shells on top. The placing cards where made out of large seashells which a lot of guests took with them as a memory of the weekend– a perfect wedding gift since its personal for each guest and a symbol of the weekend.

We wanted the wedding to be a get away, so the first decision was to not host it in our hometown. We got engaged at Tylösand, so in the end it was an easy choice. The hotel that hosted the dinner and party has achieved several Awards for its service, spa, and beautiful surroundings. We found a small Church on the top of a hill which we directly fell in love with.

These Musicians Said I Do in a Perfectly Artistic Strongwater Wedding

August 15, 2017 | Junebug Weddings

The Strongwater in Columbus, Ohio was the perfect backdrop for Frances and Kurt’s industrial, DIY wedding. With homemade invitations, centerpieces, and bouquets, these musicians used their creative and artistic abilities during the wedding planning process. Their reception turned into one giant dance party thanks to to their DJ, Mark Dantzer — what better way to celebrate two musicians coming together in holy matrimony. The day would not have been complete without the talented photographer duo of Rosey Red Photography.

Strongwater, Columbus, Ohio

We wanted this wedding to be us. We are very laid back, musically creative people so when we started planning our wedding, the two things that we both agreed were most important were the music and the photos. We wanted awesome music so that our guests would have an amazing time and we wanted awesome photographers to capture that amazing time. Luckily, we got both! Our DJ, Mark Dantzer, was incredible and kept everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) on the dance floor for three hours straight. And our photographers, Ashley and Ben of Rosey Red Photography, were a dream come true!

I think everyone that attended our wedding would agree that the most memorable part of the day came during our ceremony. My hometown pastor from Cincinnati, Ohio gives very honest and touching sermons, and he did not hold back at our wedding. His sermon was all about spreading our light into the world – he tied it in to a song that mine and Kurt’s band, Kid Runner, wrote called “Illuminate.” He then presented us with a very large life-like portrait of Kurt and I’s faces with the words “I’m alive, can you feel me shining” on it. Needless to say, it was pretty unforgettable.

My advice would be don’t stress TOO much over planning a wedding. It is your wedding day and you want it to be perfect. In the end though, it’s all about you, your partner, and everyone that you care about there celebrating with you.

We are so lucky that we found photographers who understood us and our style! We immediately bonded with Ashley and Ben over music, Columbus, and life in general. So on our wedding day, it was like hanging out with old friends. The awesome thing about them is that they just let us be ourselves. We got to laugh, joke around, and get away from the wedding madness for a few hours. And we got some absolutely amazing photos from it.

We designed all the centerpieces – over the course of 6 months, we collected cool mason jars and vases from the thrift store. We ordered baby’s breath in bulk for all the tables and the bridesmaid bouquets, and my dad cut and carved over 40 wooden trays for all the tables. It was a lot of work but I think the result was absolutely beautiful!
