If minimalist design and natural greenery speak to your soul, you’re going to love Whitney and Avery’s Nashville wedding at The Cordelle! The couple was drawn to the venue’s impressive history and industrial vibe, so they chose to keep the decor simple and clean, allowing the intimacy of the venue to shine through. To infuse some natural energy into the space, they had the florists at Elder Floral Design create greenery-forward centerpieces, as well as hang greenery on the walls for a pop of color and texture. Because there were minimal florals used in the decor, the bridal bouquet was truly stood out and looked stunning alongside Whitney’s timeless Rue De Seine gown — and perfectly complemented the groom’s floral print tie! Madi Flournoy Photography captured every subtle detail and passionate moment of this Nashville wedding beautifully!
The Couple:
Whitney and Avery
The Wedding:
The Cordelle, Nashville, Tennessee
We wanted our wedding day to be as much about our guests as it was about us. We planned for the ceremony to be an intimate moment shared between ourselves and them. We had a very close family friend perform our ceremony, and instead of exchanging traditional “I dos” we exchanged “we dos.” The reception was a party for our friends and family to celebrate this new chapter in our lives, with good food, great drinks, and a lot of questionable dance moves!
The days/hours leading up to the wedding were stressful at times, but the moment we got to see one another for the first time, nothing else seemed to matter anymore. We took that private time before the ceremony to exchange vows that we had written, and enjoy one another’s company knowing that our lives together were just beginning.
We both have lived in Nashville for quite some time but we were not sure Tennessee was where we wanted to get married. We started looking around and stumbled upon The Cordelle. The venue itself was beautiful, and conveniently located in downtown Nashville. After discovering a little more about the building, and how it was built in the late 1800’s and restored after nearly being destroyed by a fire, we were sold. It was special for us to be married in the city we met, and at a venue that is part of Nashville’s history.
Our photographer, Madi Flournoy Photography, was an absolute dream to work with. She had just a calming presence; we couldn’t help but feel at ease around her. She made sure to capture moments that we will now forever cherish as memories.
