When a distressed brick warehouse is filled with natural elements, the scene couldn’t be more romantic. Nikki and Curtis’ wedding at The NP Event Space brilliantly paired an industrial setting with warm, welcoming, and lush details by Whimsy Design. Large branches framed the couple as they said “I do” standing upon a vintage rug and sharing their first kiss as husband and wife in front of the large sunlit windows the ceremony space. Amanda Marie Studio captured the most incredible portraits of Nikki and Curtis’ windy first look in the field beside the venue, and we can’t get enough of her lovely detail shots!

Nikki and Curtis
The Wedding:
The NP Event Space, Brainerd, Minnesota
The Inspiration:
For our wedding, we knew that we wanted something simple and understated. Instead of choosing a specific color scheme, we decided on neutral colors for our outfits and let the flowers provide the more vibrant colors we wanted. Along with the flowers, bits of greenery and rosemary surrounded the venue, which gave the industrial space a more earthy vibe. To help tie the look together, rustic wooden tables and benches, along with the homemade arch we made using branches gathered near our home, filled the venue, completing the natural look we desired.
The Moments:
Our favorite moment was definitely the ceremony. After months of planning and stressing over the details, we were able to breathe, take a step back, and reflect on what the whole day was about: getting married. All the stress of the day was gone, along with all the worries about those tiny details. It was just Curtis and I, surrounded by our closest friends and family, exchanging vows and becoming one. Walking down the aisle with him was one of the greatest feelings I’ve ever felt, knowing that this was it. We would have each other for the rest of our lives.
The Couple Recommends:
We had several vendors that went above and beyond at our wedding. Our photographer Amanda Marie had the style we were looking for and was so easy to work with. She blended right in with our family and friends, and we loved having her be a part of our big day. Whimsy Design, our florists, did an incredible job with our flowers. They worked with our budget and captured our style perfectly. Aimee Jobe, the owner of the NP Event Space, was there for us whenever we had questions and to help coordinate events on the day of the wedding. They were all such a huge part of our wedding day that we now consider them all to be great friends.
