Rustic Southwestern Temecula Wedding at Wolf Feather Honey Farm

February 24, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Amber and Courtney threw tradition to the wind in their wedding at Wolf Feather Honey Farm and created a truly heartfelt celebration of love! They fully embraced the rustic setting and sprinkled southwestern vibes everywhere, from their wood and floral teepee backdrop and pampas grass ceremony decor to their canvas teepee lounge area filled with geometric textiles, pelts, and copper table accents. Luna Wild Design and Watersigne Floral went above and beyond in designing and curating every element, and Singler Photography captured it all in exquisite detail. Two of our favorite elements, by far, were the brides’ stylish and chic wedding day looks, which included a boho-inspired BHLDN dress and a navy blue suit with a whimsical lining and bowtie. They both looked sensational!

The Couple:

Amber and Courtney

The Wedding:

Wolf Feather Honey Farm, Temecula, California

It was most important for us both to feel like the wedding was genuinely “us” and not what society tells us a wedding should be. We had no interest in outdated traditions or doing anything that didn’t celebrate us and our family of powerful women. Our mothers walked us down the aisle, officiating was a collaborative effort of two of our best people, and we had the most influential women in our lives standing with us. We didn’t toss a bouquet or do a first dance, and we had the best time!

From Courtney: Our day was so magical. I think the moments that stick out to me as the most memorable are the tiny moments we shared privately surrounded by those we love. Walking down the aisle to our song, all I saw was her and our future. Reading our vows to one another and sneaking away during dinner for golden hour photos to look over the rolling hills and sun setting.

Honestly, we really left our ceremony up to our officiants. We chose two of our best people: Laura and Amber‘s sister, Ashley. They both worked double duty as bridesmaid/maid of honor and co-officiants. We trusted them completely, and I think that was really important for us. We wanted to be surprised and they really blew it out of the park. There were Prince lyrics, jokes, advice, and love. It was all just so… us.

From Amber: Communication is key! There are so many details that can potentially go into a wedding, so talking about our budget, our individual “dream” wedding, and finding compromise around all of it was an important challenge to face together. Don’t expect rainbows and unicorns 24/7 during the process. Be willing to budge on some things and hold your ground on others. Everyone deserves a piece of their dream wedding, and it will all be worth it in the end.

The Singlers were one of our most positive vendor experiences. We were able to spend real time getting to know them at our engagement shoot, and likewise, them getting to know us. They really honed in on all of our idiosyncrasies, making the wedding day a breeze. When we weren’t interacting directly, it was like they weren’t even there. They melted into the background and captured so many amazing, natural moments. They are the kind of people you keep as friends and that’s really special. We can’t wait to use them for our next celebration!

Organic Chalet View Lodge Wedding with a Touch of Mid-Century Style

February 24, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Rachel and Matt’s wedding weekend at California’s Chalet View Lodge was as lovely as it was laid-back. Day of Gal helped the couple create an organic feel that flowed throughout the entire day and highlighted the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada landscape. Their decor focused on natural greenery with pops of white florals, which tied in effortlessly with the rustic vibe. But they had plenty of unexpected elements, as well, such as a mid-century modern lounge area and a second-line brass band as a nod to the groom’s New Orleans roots. We simply can’t get enough of Rachel’s Tara Lauren dress and beaded hairpiece, which combined the chic yet laid-back feel they created with the rest of their details. Mandee Johnson Photography nailed it in capturing every nuance and unforgettable moment of this wedding!

The Couple:

Rachel and Matt

The Wedding:

Chalet View Lodge, Graeagle, California

It’s so rare in our lives that we get everyone we love in one place at one time, especially with young kids and middle-career demanding jobs. We wanted to create a place that people could spend a weekend enjoying their family and ours, all together! We found a lodge that was able to do just that and spent three nights hanging out all together (with our wedding mixed in there somewhere)!

We really tried to keep the guests on their toes. We surprised them with a brass band at the end of the ceremony. Matt briefly lived in New Orleans, so having a second line was something that was near and dear to him and to do it with our own twist was perfect!

From the bride: My advice is to set your boundaries, but let the small things slide. We each chose a couple of things that were non-negotiable, but also didn’t battle each other or our families on smaller decisions. In the end, what we remember is the incredible energy and everyone’s dance moves!

From the groom: The most memorable moment of the day was listening to Rachel read her vows. It felt like time stopped. And, of course, dancing with all our friends and family to the brass band right after the ceremony!

From the bride: The most memorable moment was coming back to the cocktail hour after signing our marriage license. We were able to see the gathering of our loved ones from the outside for a minute, and then enter back into that sphere. There was this anticipation and pure joy — everyone was vibrating with love (and cocktails!).

We wanted to highlight the beauty of the Sierras and the pure fun and joyous energy we knew our friends would bring. We drew from the natural palette of our location at Chalet View Lodge and kept the design minimal and organic. We mixed in fun elements like a canvas mid-century hospitality tent, motel keychains as escort cards, and a macramé backdrop for the ceremony.

From the groom: My advice is to try to enjoy the planning. It’s painful at times but, in retrospect, it was a memorable and bonding part of the whole process.

Something that wasn’t physically evident but was so fun and important to us, was our shared playlist. We asked all of our guests to submit a song on their RSVP cards. The music ranged from Jamiroquai to Kendrick Lamar to Eric Clapton. After compiling the requests and making a custom mix, we sent it everyone who was traveling to the wedding — it was perfect for jamming in the car or on a plane!

This Romance Inspired Wedding Shoot at The Violet Hotel will Make You Oh-So Cozy

February 23, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

This wedding inspiration shoot at The Violet Hotel proves that, when it comes to winter weddings, there’s no such thing as too cozy. The charming country venue was the perfect backdrop for Jack & Grace Events to create an intimate lakefront ceremony and an at-home, dinner party-style reception. Using moody hues, organic greenery, white florals from Dramatic Innovation, and a variety of natural textures, they created a warm yet modern feel that The Ramsdens captured with impeccable attention to detail. As with most winter weddings, we’re totally in love with the bride’s cozy style, which included a Daughters of Simone dress, vintage emerald jewelry, and luxurious fur stole.

From the event designer: Winter weddings have an understated romance, elegance, and coziness to them. There is no surprise that winter was the inspiration for our styled shoot. There is so much to enjoy and embrace. You have the holidays, snow days, warm cozy blankets, fireside cocktails, and quality time with the ones you love most.

From the event designer: When creating the concept for this shoot we knew we wanted it to emulate a sense of winter warmth. Our hope was to portray an inviting wedding dinner at your country home with your nearest and dearest. In order to achieve this we choose deep moody hues with accents of white and touches of texture. We also choose a venue that was unique and had tons of character. The Violet Hotel had so many beautiful spots to style. We definitely feel like we hit the jackpot!
