This Couple Found a Special Way to Honor the Bride’s Late Friend at Their AZ Wedding at The Paseo

June 24, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

For Ally and Ryan’s Arizona wedding at The Paseo, the magic was in the details. By using a neutral color palette and bohemian-inspired decor, the couple created a dreamy outdoor desert with a view of the iconic Superstitious Mountains. But, for all the prettiness they created with florals and macrame, the true heart-melting element was the chair Ally made for her late best friend so she would have the best seat in the house. The chair was adorned with angel wings and a stunning display of pink, coral, and cream roses from J Barry Designs — the only pops of color in the wedding decor — and held a framed photo Ally had specially printed as a reminder that her friend was there in spirit. As you can imagine, Ally and Ryan meticulously curated every detail of their wedding to create the most memorable experience for all the loved ones who supported them on their big day. Photographers Luke and Mallory outdid themselves by capturing not only all the special details the couple created for everyone else but also the intimate moments they kept to themselves, including their golden hour portraits that would make anyone want to take a romantic escape into the desert.

The Paseo, Apache Junction, Arizona

Throughout our 4 years of long distance, we wrote letters to each other. On our wedding day, we wrote each other our “final letter” to each other which represented this new chapter! I was so emotional while reading it because that was one of my favorite memories while we were dating.

We chose a mostly neutral color palette because I had a decor chair called “Katie’s chair” that I designed to honor my friend who passed away, and I wanted that to be where the color was! I found the chair and angel wings at a local Phoenix antique shop and printed a picture of her that we placed in a frame from World Market.

I loved taking communion as a couple during our ceremony and having a friend sing one of our favorite worship songs. Another memorable moment was sitting back at our sweetheart table seeing all of our friends and family who were there to celebrate US. It was a heart-warming moment for sure. So many different people from different seasons of life that were under one roof for us.

I wanted my bridal style to be classic but detailed with a touch of boho. I added the off-the-shoulder sleeves to the dress I bought to give it a boho look. My style inspiration mostly came from Australian wedding trends that I saw via Pinterest! For accessories, I kept it simple and only wore earrings. For my makeup, I chose to go a little more glam than my every day but stayed with neutral tones.

Our advice: don’t stress out! I wish the day of I would not have cared so much about the timeline. I was so worried about upsetting our guests that sometimes I got lost and forgot to enjoy each moment. Also, trust your vendors and take their advice, because they obviously have a lot of experience and know more than you!

This Magical Sydonie Mansion Wedding Blends Florida Vibes with Spanish Influences

June 24, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Becca and Daniel’s wedding at Sydonie Mansion was the epitome of winter glam with an old-world feel. The Florida venue had a distinctive Spanish style and gorgeous landscaping that set the scene for a romantic day from beginning to end. Although the decor was minimal, the focus on gold accents, bold florals, and rich pops of color created a truly elegant look and feel that was perfect for a winter wedding. We love that Becca channeled a glam bridal style with a BHLDN gown, Kailey Ellyn Bridal Couture lace topper, and edgy makeup and her groom looked sharp in a classic black suit and patterned shirt from H&M. Between the couple’s sweet first look in the courtyard, their emotional ceremony on the mansion’s back porch, and the joyful sparkler reception exit, Howard Photo + Film captured every angle of this unforgettable day on camera and Campfire Films brought it all to life on film.

The Wedding:

Sydonie Mansion, Zellwood, Florida

The most memorable part of the day was our first look. We decided to do a first look because we wanted that moment to be very intimate and special for Daniel and I. We created our first look in the garden/courtyard of our venue. I will never forget Daniel seeing me in my dress for the first time and the look on his face when we locked eyes.

The best wedding planning advice I can share is figuring out the elements that are most important to you and focus your time/ energy on those things. It is so easy to get caught up in every little detail and every decision which can be very overwhelming. For Daniel and I, the venue, photography/videography, flowers, and ceremony were the most important things that we would not budge on.  Also, take a moment to step back and take everything in because the day will fly by. You’ll cherish that memory forever.

We chose our venue because of the breathtaking detail of the mansion and landscape it provided. We wanted a venue that represented our dream of combining a Spanish/Florida/winter look and the Sydonie Mansion did just that. We also loved the fact that both the ceremony and reception could all happen at the same venue.
