Lush Glam Garden Wedding at Palma Sola Botanical Park

July 7, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Claire and Joe’s outdoor wedding at Palma Sola Botanical Park was a beautiful mix of breezy, elegant, and natural styles! The LA couple and their guests flew to Florida, where the bride’s parents live, for a celebration that was simultaneously glamorous and totally effortless. Swanky Soiree Events used taupe, peach, blush, and gold details on the patio tables for the reception and kept the ceremony setup minimal to highlight the lush gardens, huge trees, and natural botanical foliage. Oneco Florist also let the botanical vibe shine by creating simple table arrangements, a peach and ivory bouquet for the bride, and single-stem roses for the bridesmaids. Every detail was Florida sophistication to the max, but none more so than the bride’s beaded lace gown from Allure Bridals, which featured a stunning train. Photographer Shayla Behringer didn’t miss a beat in capturing every angle of this gorgeous spring wedding!

The Couple:

Claire and Joe

The Wedding:

Palma Sola Botanical Park, Bradenton, Florida

We always knew we wanted to have a wedding that really felt like us, something that reflected who we are and our love for each other. So creating the ceremony together, writing our own vows, and having it outside under the trees in a beautiful, open space was really important to us. It was also important that our wedding be small enough so that we could talk to everyone, that the food, drinks, and music be incredible, and that our family and friends have the most amazing time. Overall, we wanted our wedding to be joyful, beautiful, elegant yet relaxed, and fun!

I knew I wanted a dress that was form fitting, elegant, and romantic. When I found the ivory colored dress by Allure Bridals, I knew it was the one! What I loved most about my dress was also what I was most nervous about — the gorgeous but very long train. Luckily, I had lots of helpers to carry it and fluff it out when needed, and I was able to bustle it after our photos so I could dance the night away with no worries. It was totally worth it because I felt the most beautiful I have ever felt walking down the aisle towards the love of my life in that dress! I also knew I wanted to wear my hair down, but I didn’t want to cover the beautiful details on the back of the dress. So, my hair stylist created a beautiful side-swept look that fit perfectly with the dress. With a dramatic train and long hair, I kept the jewelry simple with teardrop diamond earrings and nothing else.

The entire day felt so magical, so it’s hard to choose a favorite moment. But there were definitely a few moments that stood out. Looking into each other’s eyes as we read our vows under a beautiful oak tree was one of the most moving and beautiful experiences of our lives. It was as if time stopped and it was just the two of us there. It was incredible! Also, seeing each other for the first time as I walked down the aisle was an overwhelmingly joyful and indescribable moment we will never forget.

We live in Los Angeles and love spending time outdoors, so we knew for sure we wanted to have an outdoor wedding. We wanted it to feel elegant and breezy, romantic, and natural. Once we decided we were going to have our wedding where my parents live in Sarasota, FL, we found the perfect garden venue in the neighboring town of Bradenton that fit that vibe. Because 99% of our guests would be traveling from out of state, we turned it into a wedding weekend celebration with a Friday night welcome dinner on the beach where we served tacos and drinks followed by our wedding on Saturday in a beautiful botanical garden. It allowed everyone to really enjoy the weekend and spend quality time together, creating such a feeling of connection, love, and joy.

This Unbelievable Cap de Formentor Elopement Will Have You Booking Your Ticket to Mallorca ASAP

July 6, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

If the cliffside ceremony beneath a canopy of tropical greenery doesn’t get you, we’re positive the coral and violet sunset in this Cap de Formentor will! After many years of a long-distance relationship and busy work lives, Safrina and Nick finally got the time to leave Germany and head for the warm ocean breezes of Mallorca for an elopement that was as epic as it was intimate. The couple’s planner, Sarah Linow, found this hidden gem that provided a soundtrack of crashing waves for their ceremony, a secluded spot for their seafood dinner, and breathtaking views of the island. They used a mix of seashells and pearls, an elegant color palette of gold, powder blue, and pink, and combined tropical greenery, succulents, and grasses from Flores Mallorca in a way we’ve never seen before. We are obsessed with how Light Meets Love captured every moment of this dreamy elopement!

The Couple:

Safrina and Nick

The Wedding:

Cap de Formentor, Mallorca, Spain

On the morning of our wedding, Nick surprised me with a personal love letter and my favourite candy during the flight. It was the perfect start to what would turned out to be the perfect day! If I had to pick just one highlight, though, it would have to be the ceremony. Just the two of us with our wedding speaker Michaela, listening to our love story, hearing the waves in the background, saying yes to each other and a lifetime together: that was absolutely magical!

Ritual Unions from Berlin is one of my favourite European bridal designers with a very distinctive style. I love headpieces and tiaras. It was love at first sight when photographer Melanie introduced me to Kokoro’s collection. The pearls are just ideal for an ocean wedding. Once I had started the pearl theme, I decided to wear the amazing real pearl jewelry by Yana Nesper. I love the colours, which are also mirrored in the table decorations. I will certainly find a lot of other occasions to wear these beauties!

Ever since Nick and I met, our lives have been just crazy busy! We live in different cities a good 6-hour drive apart from each other. That’s why we never really had the time to celebrate our love and to prepare the wedding of our dreams. But we knew that, eventually, we wanted something very intimate and truly unique. We have seen a lot of weddings and elopements and wanted to avoid anything that looked and felt traditional. We thought that combining the raw energy of the ocean with elegant and refined details was the perfect combination for our day! It was something special that we had never seen before.

The German wedding speaker, Michaela Amler (who is based in Mallorca), conducted the individual and moving ceremony at the oceanfront. The ceremony started with our beautiful love story and ended with the touching moment of changing rings. It was wonderful to celebrate our love overlooking the ocean.

The wedding photos were especially important to us as they will remind us forever of our big day. That is why she chose one of Germany’s best photo and video team who could not only capture the day in artistic images but also give valuable advice on all things visual. Wedding photographer Melanie from husband-and-wife photo and video team Light Meets Love was head over heels in love with the concept of this ocean-themed wedding and had plenty of advice for us. As an experienced wedding photographer, she had recommendations for the dress, the bridal accessories, and nautical wedding decorations up her sleeve. She also worked together with wedding planner Sarah to find the perfect locations for the ceremony, an al fresco meal, and the portrait photoshoot.

The location at the ocean inspired us to choose blue and green. The flower arrangement with succulents, grasses and tropical leaves by Flores Mallorca matched the surrounding landscape perfectly. Seashells and pearls and the chic colour palette added a stylish nautical air to my bridal look, the location, and the decoration.

Enchanting Southwestern Inspired Abiquiu, New Mexico Wedding on Rio Chama

July 6, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Andrea and BC gave us all the boho southwestern vibes we love for summer in their outdoor New Mexico wedding! Set in the beautiful rocky desert landscape, they exchanged vows and danced the night away with only their immediate family by their side. The couple’s laid-back vibe was present in every detail that For the Love Events created, from the Moroccan-inspired accent decor to the fire pit lounge area at the reception to the al fresco dining that included mismatched place settings, mismatched chairs, and a canopy of cafe lights. We love how the couple kept their styles relaxed, as well, with the bride donning a flowing, long-sleeved dress from Lulus and the groom wearing a patterned brown suit. Elizabeth Wells Photography did a beautiful job capturing every dreamy moment of this enchanting desert wedding!

The Couple:

Andrea and BC

The Wedding:

Private Ranch, Abiquiu, New Mexico

It was most important to us to absolutely focus our energy on what the day was about, marrying each other! Above all we wanted to be truly present on our big day. Not distracted by details, schedules, to-dos or even other people. So we did what we could to plan in advance for what was most important to us: location, food and drinks, the band and overall vibe. Once those were taken care of, we didn’t stress about smaller details.

As a child I spent time around Taos and Santa Fe, NM camping and exploring with my family. Ever since I have been drawn to this area of our country. I wanted a venue that embodied all that I love there – the striking landscapes, southwestern/boho style, and good energy. When I found a private ranch that had a beautiful adobe home, horses, a donkey named Pepe, and overlooked the Chama River and stunning rust-colored mountains, I was sold! Since this wasn’t a traditional venue, we also had much more freedom.

My dad passed away a couple of years before our wedding. I knew this was going to be really tough for me on that day. His best friend, Don of over 50 years was our officiant and that meant the world to me. We know my dad was a happy guy that day.

I can’t say enough good things about our photographer, Elizabeth Wells. We were lucky to not only have her but also her husband shooting for us. They both exude a sense of calm that is infectious and important on a day filled with excitement and nerves! Our wedding photos turned out amazing and we will treasure them always!

Against my natural instinct, I decided early on that my wedding wasn’t the day for me to go all out on DIY projects. I DIYed our bar menu signage, dinner menus, ordered a custom neon sign by Brite Lite Tribe, and left the rest up to our amazing wedding coordinator. Our cake was suspended from the ceiling by a macrame cake hanger, which my sister made.
