This St. Lucia Elopement at Tet Paul Nature Trail is Pure Wild Bohemian Romance

July 30, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Wanting the best of both worlds, Laura and Josh opted for an adventurous location where they could both elope and honeymoon! Their St. Lucia elopement checked off all of their boxes for an adventurous location with a little bit of everything – mountains, water, and jungle vibes. Laura looked like a bohemian princess in her Free People dress and a flower crown crafted by Samuel Franklin, while Josh went for a classic yet casual vibe with his rolled-up sleeves and floral tie. These two newlyweds explored St. Lucia with From the Daisies for fun, wild, and carefree couple portraits!

I think our overall wedding day fashion could be described as relaxed and a Bohemian-Indie look. My wedding dress was so comfortable, how I envisioned it, stylistically, and convenient for our hike. My floral crown and bouquet were able to emphasize the tropical vibe that the island presented, and this also catered to my style of the Bohemian-Indie vibe. My Steve Madden boots were extremely comfortable and convenient, and I enjoyed the fact that we were both able to wear boots to have that more relaxed, yet adventurous feel.

The most memorable part of the day was reciting our vows and exchanging our rings in the middle of the Pitons, surrounded by the most amazing scenes of nature

There are so many favorite photos. I think ours would have to be of our kiss, on the top of the mountain, right after our vows and rings were exchanged. This really captured the feel of happiness and victory that we both felt.

We wanted a destination that also acted as our honeymoon. Mountains were important to me (Laura), while water was important to Josh. This place offered both settings!

Working with our photographer, Stephanie, was so much fun and so easy. She made our day that much more special. I couldn’t imagine having anyone else come along this journey with us. Her creativity and vibe matched ours so perfectly, and we are so grateful for how she was able to capture this day and our love

At the end of it all, this special day should be all about the couple. Be brave, and do what feels right and comfortable for the both of you.

We wanted our ceremony to be adventurous and extremely intimate. We knew being alone and a part of nature would allow for this as well as a relaxed feel, but also we could dress our best.

Modern Prospect House Wedding in Neutral Tones and Greenery

July 30, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

Luscious greenery and minimalist decor are all over Jackie and Andre’s Prospect House wedding. Color Theory Collective created the dreamiest half-circle floral installation at the base of where Jackie and Andre exchanged vows. The florals added an elegant touch to their overall classic wedding. Their indoor reception decor was thoughtfully planned and placed by Bash Co + Events who curated a modern vibe for the couple. With pizza in hand, these two celebrated with their loved ones and danced the night away thanks to Adante from LeForce Entertainment for keeping the party going late. Photographer Lauren Nicole Photo and videographer Narrate Studios captured Jackie and Andre’s wedding to where you can feel the emotion, excitement, and fun that occurred all day long.

The Couple:

Jackie and Andre

The Wedding:

Prospect House, Dripping Springs, Texas

We wanted our wedding weekend to be the most fun weekend of our lives. There aren’t many other moments in your life where you get to be surrounded by all of your favorite people and we wanted to make sure that we made time to laugh and gain wisdom from our close friends and family on the days leading up to the wedding. In the stages of planning, we wanted our wedding to show our specific love for each other as well as encompass our style in a way that our guests would remember our special day.

It’s easy to get caught up in all the details and worry that your day won’t meet your expectations after you’ve put in so much thought and planning, so just remember that although the details can make the day fun, what really matters is being fully present on the day you marry your love!

We knew that we wanted an outdoor ceremony and a really clean, white, and open space for the reception – so Prospect House was absolutely perfect. We loved how there was such beautiful scenery surrounding the venue but the venue itself gave a modern and minimal feel…almost as if it could be in an urban setting yet it was surrounded by open fields and trees.

Our photographer, Lauren, was so fun to work with – she has such a laid back personality, so as a couple we felt like we could just relax and be ourselves in front of her. She was also amazing about getting the details of what we wanted from her before the wedding day, so day-of was so natural and easy, we knew she had us covered. Same goes for our videographers, they were so professional yet made us feel like we were just hanging out with friends while they were capturing us.

Our wedding planner – Bash Co & Events – are a husband and wife team and they were the best decision we made during our wedding planning process. We met with them shortly after we got engaged and they were there throughout the whole process up until the wedding day. They helped not only with the practical details of the day but also with the design of the wedding – making sure that it felt like “us”. I couldn’t believe how peaceful I felt throughout the entire wedding day and I know so much of that had to do with Bash and knowing that they were there keeping everything in check so that all we had to focus on was getting married!

Our wedding colors were pretty neutral – black, white, blush – of course, paired with lots of greenery. Although we are a very modern couple, I wanted our color scheme to feel classic. I wanted to be able to look back at our wedding and still be drawn to the colors rather than think “oh yeah those colors were really trending when we got married but my taste has changed”.

We both love pizza (I know who doesn’t??) and we thought it would be so fun to have a wood-fired pizza at our wedding. Enrico’s Blaze does local wood-fired pizza catering and once we tried their pizza we were sold. After deciding on pizza for the main course, we decided to keep the Italian theme going for the rest of the food. Vanilla Orchid Catering provided an artisan cheese & charcuterie board for the cocktail hour and perfectly complimented the pizza with their Vanilla Orchid signature salad and fresh basil arancini for dinner.

One of our most memorable and favorite parts of the day was when we had a final last dance as a couple after all of our guests left the reception space and gathered outside to send us off. We hadn’t even originally planned on doing a “final dance” but our DJ suggested it and we are so thankful we made that a part of our day. Having a moment to enjoy each other and think “did that all just really happen?” was exactly how we wanted to finish our wedding. We absolutely loved being surrounded by family and friends the whole day, but to have that last moment to ourselves was perfect.

You’d Never Believe This Eclectic California Garden Wedding Took Place in a Neighborhood Clubhouse

July 29, 2018 | Junebug Weddings

By choosing their private neighborhood clubhouse to host their California garden wedding, Kristine and Stephen proved that you don’t need a traditional wedding venue — or even sunny weather — to have an unforgettable day! With the help of their talented planner from Perfect the Event, they created a backyard feel in shades of ivory with pops of jewel-tones and gold to add an air of elegance. In keeping with that effortless, spring-time vibe, Three Petals created wildflower-inspired bouquets for the wedding party and centerpieces for the tables that looked as though they had been picked from the garden. Lex and The Lotus was on hand to capture every mesmerizing detail, from the old-world architecture of Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano to the couple’s unbelievably romantic portraits on the rainy and windy waterfront.

The Couple:

Kristine and Stephen

The Wedding:

Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano and Private Clubhouse, Irvine, California

From the very beginning, Stephen and I knew we wanted to make sure our guests had the most memorable time. We’ve been to so many weddings, and we came up with a formula for what we thought made the best ones great: good food, good music, and lots of liquor! Those were are 3 main focuses throughout the whole planning process.

From the bride: For me, the most memorable part of the day was walking down the aisle. I was overcome with emotion! All the hard work and planning finally came full circle. When I saw Steve at the altar, I started crying (tears of joy of course!). It felt like every decision I had ever made led me up to this moment, and every decision I would make after was standing right in front of me.

It poured on our wedding day, which sounds like it would have made for a disaster of a wedding but it didn’t! We checked the weather constantly beforehand and made all the necessary arrangements to ensure our guests would be dry and comfortable. Our advice is don’t freak out over things you have no control over, like the weather. And there really is no such thing as a perfect wedding. Mistakes are bound to happen and the only thing you can do is plan ahead accordingly. Honestly, the guests won’t even notice the mistakes. They will have a great time no matter what!

Our main color was ivory with gold and jewel-tone accents. Since our wedding was in March, we wanted to emphasize spring colors. The bridesmaids wore these beautiful ivory dresses. We wanted our flowers to be multicolored to change it up from the cream and blush colors we’ve been seeing at weddings. We told our florist we wanted a “just picked from the garden” wildflower kind of look. The contrast between the ivory dresses and colorful bouquets turned out to be so dramatic and gorgeous!

From the groom: It was cold, rainy, and windy on our wedding day. After the ceremony, we had gone to Dana Point harbor to take more photos on the jetty where it was twice as cold, rainy, and windy. We literally sacrificed our bodies to take those photos, but it was all worth it when our photographer showed us how epic they turned out!

We had looked at quite a few venues before we settled on our neighborhood clubhouse. It all came together in a sort of “backyard wedding” kind of vibe and it was very intimate.
