Lavish Orchid Wedding in Georgia

Parker and Zach wanted an elegant Southern affair, and their lavish orchid wedding absolutely fits the bill. Held at Ocean Forest Golf Club, the wedding balanced Southern charm with rich details like Parker’s Amsale gown and her stunning fuchsia orchid bouquet. By keeping the wedding party attire black and white, Parker’s bouquet stood out even more. Photographer Jessica Rawlings beautifully captured the couple and their gorgeous wedding party from start to finish, and we love the sparkler send off at the end of the night.

The Inspiration: “In terms of wedding day fashion I was aiming for comfortable sophistication inspired by the wedding locale. Sea Island is a place I have known and loved my entire life and it epitomizes easy southern elegance in my mind. I wanted to embody that throughout the weekend including my attire.”

The Couple Recommends: “Jessica Rawlings was absolutely spectacular. Our biggest priorities for a photographer for to (A) capture amazing photos and (B) blend into the wedding and have it not feel like we were part of a big production. Jessica took unbelievable photos and blended seamlessly in with the crowd – she was amazing!”

The Moments: “Marrying each other. Outside of that probably our fake exit. We went through a full sparkler line exit, got in an amazing 1930’s convertible and drove off into the sunset with fireworks lining our path. Much to our guests surprise we had no intention of actually leaving our close friends and family and missing the celebrations. We cruised around for 15 minutes while sipping champagne then returned to the event and surprised our guests as we joined them for the after party for two more hours. It was SO much fun to be there for the end of the night and see the looks on everyone’s faces. The only other part that gets close to competing is the private dinner we had immediately upon arriving at the reception. It was our first moment as husband and wife and our first chance to be alone for 24 hours and actually enjoy and savor everything that was happening. It was all awesome!”

Celebrating the Work of Fashion Legend Oscar de la Renta: Farewell, Oscar

Today we say farewell to a truly one-of-a-kind designer, mogul, and man. Oscar de la Renta passed away yesterday at the age of 82 after a long and loving career of creating beauty. More than anything, de la Renta designed for the women wearing his garments. He valued independence, confidence, creativity, and empathy, all of which were reflected in his every design. First Ladies, Hollywood starlets, models, socialites, and brides have flocked to de la Renta’s stunning dresses for decades, knowing they were wearing something incredibly special because the piece had his magical insight from the moment his pencil touched the paper to the final stitch.

Here at Junebug, we love seeing brides look and feel themselves on their wedding day in a dress that speaks to them on a deeper level. A wedding dress is the most important dress a woman will wear. “I want to make clothes that people will wear, not styles that will make a big splash on the runway,” de la Renta said on how his mission differs from other designers. Oscar de la Renta’s inspired bridal designs are legendary for their exquisite elegance, as well as for their understanding of how a dress can make a bride feel on her most special day.

Fall Groom Fashion Inspiration

For brides, fall style might be limited to a darker lip shade, an autumnal bouquet, or pretty vintage cardigan. Grooms, on the other hand, are the real winners in the fall season because the layering and texture options are endless. Fall fashion may not be every groom’s idea of a good time, but we’re sure these Junebug grooms will inspire stylish, cool outfits for future cool weather weddings.

1. Herringbone, tweed, and wool – As the temperatures get cooler, your outerwear will need to serve as functional, as well as fashionable. Choosing a heavier fabric will keep you warm during those golden hour portraits. Depending on the color palette of your wedding, a sports coat or blazer in chocolate brown, heather gray, or navy blue will be a stylish punctuation to your wedding look as a couple.

2. Seasonal boutonnieres – Just like the rest of the flowers in your wedding will be styled in the spirit of the season, your boutonniere can be crafted from fall flowers. Green, dark red, orange, and yellow are strong fall colors, and your florist can tell you what’s trending in your region this season.

3. Chambray – A chambray shirt is a trendy and casual substitution for your classic oxford shirt. This is the perfect style for a rustic wedding or quirky affair. Wear it with suspenders and a bow tie for a laid-back wedding, or button up in a blazer and skinny tie for a more formal occasion.

4. Gingham – Ginaham was all over the runways this fall, and now it can make an appearance in your wedding too. Keep the checks small for a sleeker look, or go bigger and bright for a whimsical wedding outfit.

5. Velvet Fall fashion is all about texture, and nothing is softer than a velvet bow tie. Choose a tie in burgundy, navy, emerald, or mustard to add visual warmth to your wedding day look.

6. Plaid – Your favorite fall fashion mainstay can absolutely be incorporated into your wedding attire. Whether you wear a plaid shirt, tie, socks, or pocket square depends on the role you envision the pattern taking in your overall wedding decor. Careful not to clash prints within your own outfit, but get creative when mixing plaids among your groomsmen.
