Junebug’s Favorite Venues in Austin, Texas

September 19, 2014 | Junebug Weddings

I may be a wee bit biased when it comes to Austin. This city pulls at my heartstrings with it’s natural beauty, lovely people, and amazing food. Awhile back, we finally decided to put together a Top 10 Venue Hotlist for the Austin area, which was pretty fun as most of us live here and have lots of opinions (some differing) on the best spots in town to get hitched. So, without further adieu, here are Junebug’s favorite venues in Austin.

Laguna Gloria

Sitting alongside Lake Austin, Laguna Gloria is one of Austin’s most luxurious venues. By day Laguna Gloria is actually home to the Austin Museum of Art, which I absolutely adore about Laguna Gloria.

The Allan House

Located downtown, The Allan House is a popular urban wedding venue. Featuring a historic mansion with a lovely courtyard ceremony/reception space, The Allan House is perfectly equipped for a stylish, urban wedding.

Mercury Hall

Situated in the eclectic South First area, Mercury Hall is perfect for the DIY couple with its elegant setting and minimal decor. Of course, those stained glass windows look good with just about anything!

Three Points Ranch

Featuring an iconic Airstream, Three Points Ranch is a popular rustic venue. Couples also appreciate the minimalist landscape, including two oaks that were struck by lightening which now make up one of the most unique ceremony spaces in Austin.

Hotel Ella

Another downtown gem, Hotel Ella was actually one of the first hotels to be opened in Austin. Now, the building is an elegant space for weddings and events.

Red Corral Ranch

With a massive oak tree filled with twinkling lights, as well as wandering peacocks, Red Corral Ranch has definitely mastered Austin’s eclectic vibe. A noteworthy feature of this property is its circular ceremony space (they offer a more traditional space, as well). I think the idea of being surrounded (quite literally) by family and loved ones as you say “I do” is a stellar concept.

Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum

Across the street from Austin’s iconic Barton Springs, the Umlauf is named after Charles Umlauf, a world renowned sculptor. With its beautiful art garden, the Umlauf is perfect for the couple looking for a non-traditional ceremony/reception space.

Pecan Springs Ranch

Another ranch styled venue, Pecan Springs is popular for its iconic LOVE marquee and outdoor ceremony fireplace. With its big oak trees and rustic design, Pecan Springs is the epitome of the Texas Hill Country.

Barr Mansion

Ma Maison

This venue is exactly what it sounds like, countryside french charm. ‘Ma Maison’ actually means ‘My Home’ in French, and couples feel very at home at this venue’s Provence-like villa. With ample outdoor spaces and beautiful scenery, this Austin venue, while pretty new to the wedding venue scene, was an easy choice for us Junebug girls!

Autumn Inspiration Board

September 19, 2014 | Junebug Weddings

With fall right around the corner, as in next Tuesday, I’ve been dreaming of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and most importantly, fall style! My favorite fall accessory is a marigold scarf. I’ve had it for years, yet I always seem to pull it out from the depths of my closet come autumn. It goes with everything, but only from September to November. I’ve been contemplating colors and looks for this fall, and I’ve come up with a pretty robust autumn inspiration board. I thought I would share to get everyone in the mood pumpkin flavored everything, infinity scarves, and best of all, warm tea (or coffee) on cold fall mornings. Enjoy!

Autumn Inspiration

I’m all about mixing deep reds and oranges with pops of blues and yellows! You may also have noticed that green made an appearance in my board. I think a dark green is always a staple color in colder months, you can never go wrong! To make your fall wedding more seasonal, try adding rough woods and rich hues to your wedding decor.

Intimate Key West Wedding

beachfront couple's portrait

Natalie and Jorge’s intimate Key West wedding was a romantic and dreamy celebration with a tropical twist. Photographed beautifully by Merari Photography, the couple was inspired by their beach setting, resulting in a simple, laid-back, and serene affair.

The Couple: Natalie and Jorge

The Wedding: The Southernmost Point HouseSmathers Beach Latitudes at Sunset Key, Key West, FL

The Inspiration: We wanted our wedding to be simple and easy. The theme was coastal and romantic. We used the Historic Southernmost House (where we stayed and did our first look) as our inspiration and everything pretty much complemented that backdrop.
