You might want to grab some tissues before you continue reading this post, because it’s about to get pretty emotional in here. When looking through a beautiful wedding, there are lots of candid moments that cause ‘Oohs’ and ‘Ahhs,’ but none stop you in your tracks quite like the tender and tearful moments. Weddings are joyful occasions filled with so much love and happiness that it’s natural to become a little overwhelmed a shed a few tears. Tearful moments are often some of the most beautiful in real time, and it takes a truly exceptional photographer to capture the living moment with their camera, to be forever cherished. Here are a few of our favorite tender and tearful moments from real Junebug weddings.

Hannah’s father couldn’t help but be emotional as he walked her down the aisle to Ben for their nautical inspired sunset wedding in Prince Edward Island.

First Fernando began to cry as he saw Nicole come down the aisle, and then she joined him in happy tears at the altar during their stylish modern wedding in Washington D.C.

Beautiful bride Caroline wiped her tears as she listened to Martyn recite his vows during their romantic destination wedding on the Amalfi Coast.

Tree and Jos may have had a Midsummer Night’s Dream inspired wedding, but Tree certainly wasn’t acting when she cried during Jos’ vows.

Whitney was all waterworks after her family surrounded her and Jonathan during the ceremony at their vintage DIY backyard wedding.

Quirky Barn Wedding

December 4, 2014 | Junebug Weddings

Red-Cream-Barn-Wedding-11

Sweet couple Maria and Brian fell in love with each other, and then their wedding venue. The pair were married at Whispering Oaks Terrace in an adorably quirky barn wedding. Rock This Moment captured all of the fun, from the incredible light around the venue to the carefully curated details that told the story of Maria and Brian’s special love. The red and ivory color palette, inspired by the barn venue, perfectly punctuated the romantic day.

The Couple: Maria and Brian

The Wedding: Whispering Oaks, Temecula, California

The Inspiration:I found Whispering Oaks after looking for wedding venue alternatives to the dozens of wineries in our area. I was really inspired by the rustic weddings that I found on Pinterest, and Whispering Oaks fit the lovingly quirky, handmade, and personal feel that I wanted for our wedding. Additionally, the dozens of weddings yearly that are held in Whispering Oaks meant that there was a collection of pre-loved, quirky details that had been left behind by previous brides, and I loved the idea of taking these and re-purposing them for another happy occasion.

The property itself provided much of the inspiration for the overall decor and theme for the wedding. I chose a bright poppy red as the color for my bridesmaids, inspired by the punch of red found in barn doors around the property. I accented with red throughout the wedding in the same way– white linens and burlap, with a punch of red Gerber daisies and little peppermints, a little red bow on our chalkboard-inspired programs.

Overall, I was inspired by Pinterest, but informed by the venue itself. I think that as much as a wedding should be the fulfillment of all your fairy tale dreams, that the practicalities and limitations of your venue and your season can also be an important source of information and inspiration itself.

The Moments:My favorite part of the wedding was our first dance! I loved the music and the story of Disney’s Up, and I chose the main theme (“Married Life”) as our first dance– you know, because an uptempo waltz with a guy and his two left feet is no problem at all! I loved this moment because it is us at our finest– goofy, sweet, and laughing the whole time. My favorite moment of all was realizing that my sister (the maid of honor) had not forgotten about my wish to dance in a storm of bubbles! She had gone around to the different tables of friends and cousins, passing out little bottle of bubbles, and instructed them to rush the dance floor after the first few bars of the song, blowing bubbles until the end of our dance. It was beautiful and added a touch of magic to our moment.

The Couple Recommends:We were really lucky with all of our vendors! I loved Ryan as well as the second photographer that came with him– they had such an easy energy that it was no problem feeling like ourselves in every shot. I recommend their work because of their attention to detail and their very “Method” style of capturing the energy of a wedding– they get on the dance floor, crack jokes during the shoots with the bride and groom and bridal party, and even afterwards, took the time to make sure that we had a few images to see almost immediately after the wedding!

My family was especially impressed by Anne Taylor Catering. Anne’s staff was warm, friendly, and always there with a full plate of caprese kabobs whenever needed. Their enthusiasm and helpfulness– some of them made sure that my elderly guests had chairs during the stand-around cocktail hour– was really something we appreciated on the day.

Post-Wedding Shoot in an Abandoned Castle

December 3, 2014 | Junebug Weddings

ADQ-DA-023

What do you get when you have an abandoned castle, a pair of totally-in-love newlyweds, and a couple of horse head masks? When Benjamin Brette Photography is part of the equation, you get an unforgettable post-wedding shoot. Audrey and David decided to forgo a trash the dress in lieu of a dreamlike post-wedding shoot at the Chateau des Singes. The surreal shoot included levitation, dramatic angles, and an odd romanticism as the pair embraced wearing horse heads and their wedding attire.
