It’s no secret here at Junebug that we love a beautiful Austin wedding. When we heard Jake Holt was photographing Allison and Matt’s elegant rustic wedding at the Barr Mansion, we knew we would want to share it with you. Bride Allison wore a braided hairstyle perfect for the rustic chic style of the day with her lace veil tucked into the back for an effortless and lovely touch. The light couldn’t have been more stunning during the outdoor ceremony, turning the sky gold beyond the massive trees outside the mansion.

The Inspiration:

If we had to pinpoint a particular theme I would say we went heavy on rustic chic with lots of touches of vintage through out. I kept all the décor simple because the venue was stunning on its own. We had baby breath in sap cans down the aisle, quirky painted signs through out with messages or directions for our guests, Texas lavender in mason jars, a cake stand my mom made from flea market finds, lace and crochet table toppers, a disco ball, a vintage furniture seating area and much much more. We wanted a casual reception that our guests could enjoy themselves while celebrating with us.

The wedding fashion was simple but elegant. The groom and groomsmen wore classic black tuxes and bowties. The bridesmaids wore long slate dresses with twisted straps and a flirty back. My dress was chiffon with a deep-V in the front and the back with only a small amount of bling on the shoulder. I wanted a dress that was flowy and that I could dance in with out any fuss and that’s exactly what I got!

The Moments:

There is just no way to narrow down one favorite moment from our wedding but here are a few of the highlights.. Dancing as husband and wife under our very own disco ball, seeing all of our nearest and dearest in one room at the same time (truly indescribable), my godfather dancing on a fountain like it was Kappa Sig frat party, fumbling our way through the cake cutting because we had no clue how to properly cut it (someone needs to offer a course), our family and friends breaking into a rendition of R Kelly’s “Remix to Ignition” while they waited for our exit, and lying in the same room we’d gotten engaged in while laughing the night away.
